MileHigh Prep Report Class 1A Volleyball Awards
Are first ever Volleyball awards! I needed some help and set some guidelines for the awards. I got some help from the CHSAA bulletin. I may use some of these rules for Basketball as well.
- First, the Player of the Year must come from the State Championship team.
- Second, Player of the Tournament can come from any team that made it to the State Tournament
- I will pick a Top Hitter (Based on kills, Kill%, and Hitting %), Top Setter (Most assists and assist per set), Top Libero (most digs and digs per set), and Best Server (Which will be most aces on the year)
- I will have a first, second and honorable mention team. To make those team you have to at least qualify for Regionals or have some outstanding stats. Making regionals does not guarantee you a player from your team a spot. First and Second Team All MileHigh will comprise of 3 Setters, 2 Libero’s, and 5 hitters. Honorable mention will be a mix of players.
- Last, I would love any input on my rules and the way I did these teams. I have never done Volleyball awards, so any help is great!

MVP does not always come from the state champs, they win because they have the best team most of the time. Should have got input from some coaches.

I agree with you. That the top player is not always from the best team and this year for volleyball I went with that to help me. It was a simple rule that will go away next year. I am going to try and get Input for coaches for basketball. Feel free to message me on Facebook as well Greg on Facebook
