Class 3A Regional Volleyball Predictions

Here are my Predictions on who is going to win the 12 regionals taking place this weekend.  I will dive much more into depth on the State Tournament next week. Good Luck to all teams fighting for State Tournament spot.

Region 1

Winner: Lamar

Lamar will be the favorite to win Region 1 and my pick to win Region 1.  Lamar has been dominating all season but will face a challenge from Sterling.  I think that is the main match to watch in Region 1 is Sterling vs Lamar.

Region 2

Winner: Eaton

Eaton will be the favorite to win Region 2 and my pick to win Region 2.  Eaton once again is a dominate program and they got a favorable draw to reach the state tournament again.  Pagosa Springs could provide a challenge but look for Eaton to move to the State Tournament.

Region 3

Winner: Platte Valley

Platte Valley will be the favorite to win Region 3 and my pick to win Region 3.  Platte Valley got a great draw for their region.  I think St. Mary’s vs Windsor Charter will be a great matchup but I am not sure if either can will matchup against Platte Valley.  Platte Valley has been on fire since their early season struggle. 

Region 4

Winner: Faith Christian

Faith Christian will be the favorite to win Region 4 and my pick to win Region 4.  This region I believe is a bit more difficult than expected.  Bennett won their league in convincing fashion and will be on a major hot streak.  Faith Christian will be challenge by Bennett and this should be a great matchup. 

Region 5

Winner: Alamosa

Alamosa will be the favorite to win Region 5 and my pick to win Region 5.  Alamosa got a great draw for Region 5.  Peak to Peak will be a challenge after a successful run in the Metro league but Alamosa is battle tested and they look to return to the state tournament.

Region 6

Winner: University

University will be the favorite to win Region 6 and my pick to win Region 6.  University got a decent draw here in region 6.  University did draw Bayfield who is a perennial State Tournament attendee and look for them to challenge University for a spot at the State Tournament. 

Region 7

Winner: Centauri

Centauri will be the favorite to win Region 7 and my pick to win Region 7.  From here on each Regional gets more and more difficult and we kick things off with a tough Region 7.  Centauri will be the favorite but look for them to be challenged by a top 3 Tri-Peaks team in James Irwin.  Should be a great match to see who makes it to State.

Region 8

Winner: Jefferson Academy

Jefferson Academy is the high seed and probably the favorite to win Region 8 and my pick to win Region 8.  This is the first Region where I think an upset could happen.  Manitou Springs will be a difficult matchup for Jefferson Academy.  I think both teams could easily advance and look for a great matchup.

Region 9

Winner: Valley

Valley will be the favorite in Region 9 and my pick to win Region 9.  Valley, I think got a great draw for being the #9 Seed.  Valley will be tested by Stargate School who has a win over Faith Christian early in the season.  Valley, I believe advances but don’t be surprised if Stargate Schools pushes them to set 5.  

Region 10

Winner: Prospect Ridge

Prospect Ridge will be the favorite in Region 10 and my pick to win Region 10.  Prospect Ridge might be playing their best Volleyball of the season and they will need it with a clash against Liberty Common on the horizon.  This is another great regional matchup with the winner deserving a spot at the State Tournament. 

Region 11

Winner: Resurrection Christian

Resurrection Christian will be the favorite in Region 11 and my pick to win Region 11.  Another battle between the Patriot League and the Tri-Peaks for a spot at state.  Resurrection Christina vs Vanguard will be the main event but look for Roaring Fork to try and steal a game and make things a 3 way race for the State Tournament berth.

Region 12

Winner: Delta

The Academy is the high seed and the favorite in Region 12.  I am going in a different direction and going with Delta to win Region 12.  I think this region could go in any direction but The Academy vs Delta should be a great matchup.
