Class 4A Boys State Tournament Predictions
The first round of the Class 4A Tournament is complete a few upsets and a few teams surviving and advancing. What I am planning on doing is a round by round pick, in the first round will just be the picks and then Sweet 16 on will do a quick breakdown. Then at the end I will have my full tournament Predictions. Remember this is all in fun and I am not cheering against any team. Good Luck to all teams.
Sweet 16 Predictions Only (4A Boys Playoff Predictions Record: 12-3)
Bert Borgmann Region
#1 Kent Denver over #17 Holy Family
I think this could be another great matchup and Kent Denver will be on upset watch. I still believe Kent Denver will get the win but Holy Family is not a true #17 seed.
#9 Severance over #8 Colorado Academy (Top game in Sweet 16)
I believe this is the best matchup in the sweet 16. Two teams that have proven to be able to play with the best and look for this to be an outstanding game.
Tom Robinson Region
#5 Pagosa Springs over #28 DSST-Conservatory (Being played 2/24)
This game has been pushed back a second time and will it effect the winners next game.
#5 Pagosa Springs over #12 Pueblo Central (Top game in Sweet 16)
Another great matchup. Pagosa Springs plays great defense and that will be needed against a high scoring Pueblo Central team. Two different styles clash here.
#4 Eagle Ridge Academy over #13 Riverdale Ridge
This matchup does intrigue me. Riverdale Ridge has a great win over 5A Frederick and are on a 6 game winning streak. I believe they have the fire power to pull the upset but will need to play a full game. Eagle Ridge Academy will have to play a full game and limit turnovers but i think they can still advance.

#2 Resurrection Christian over #18 Steamboat Springs
Steamboat Springs pulled the upset and the Western Slope had a solid showing in the first round with multiple teams playing very tough. Steamboat Springs will look to shock everyone if they can pull this upset. Since their loss to Eaton, Resurrection Christian has been playing their best basketball including 7 wins over playoff teams.
#7 Eaton over #23 Classical Academy (Top game in Sweet 16)
Classical Academy pulled the biggest upset of the first round upsetting #10 Sterling. TCA will look to build off that win and look for their second straight upset. Eaton was challenged by a young Aspen team but broke the 2 game slide they were on. This will be a very good game.

#3 Alamosa over #19 Peak to Peak
A underrated matchup. Alamosa was challenged thru 3 quarters by Basalt but finally got going and outscored Basalt 29-9 in the fourth. Alamosa cannot do that again in this game and expect to move into the great 8. Peak to Peak grabbed a very nice win in the first round defeating Fort Lupton. Peak to Peak will be upset minded this week.
#6 Lutheran over #22 D’Evelyn
Lutheran made quick work of their first round opponent winning by 28 points. Lutheran will look to stay hot offensively and defeat D’Evelyn for the second time this year. D’Evelyn pulled the second biggest upset defeating #11 University. D’Evelyn will be looking for revenge for their earlier season lost.
