Class 1A Girls State Tournament Predictions
We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off. I have decided to deem Tuesday as Prediction Tuesday. I will give my predictions for all 3 Classes boys and girls. Tomorrow we will have something special for all 3 classes boys and girls. If you would like to share your predictions shoot me a message or email, would love to talk basketball with anyone! Also, remember we are not cheering against any team, this is something we have done since we started the website, and we are wrong all the time!
Class 1A Girls Regional Prediction Review
Class 1A girls also avoided the big upsets. We did have two lower seeds win their regions, but I think they were favored in those matchups. For Class 1A girls I correctly picked 8 of the 8 State Qualifiers.

Elite 8 Predictions
#1 McClave over #8 Kit Carson
McClave comes back to the State Tournament as the #1 seed and return a ton of experience from last years runner up team. McClave has been on a mission this season with only 1 loss and that was to the #1 seeded 3A team in Peyton. Kit Carson hit the road at regionals and walked away with the state tournament berth. They won both games by 20+ points and will look to avenge their two regular season losses to McClave.
#4 Briggsdale over #5 Idalia
I think this should be a good game with their regular season meeting being decided by 12 points. Briggsdale does appear to be playing their best basketball dominating at regionals winning both games by 25+ points. Idalia also played well at regionals defeating a solid Fleming team by 14 points in the regional finals. I think the defending state champions have the experience and set up a rematch of last years state championship.
#3 Flatirons Academy over #6 Dove Creek
I think this could be a very good matchup. Flatirons Academy dominated at regionals winning both games by 30+ points. Flatirons Academy appears to be on a mission to reach the state championship this year. Dove Creek played well against a hot Cheyenne Wells team in the regional finals winning by 10. They will have to find an answer on defense for the high scoring Flatirons Academy scoring. If Dove Creek can take advantage of their height they will have a shot at the upset.
#2 Stratton over #7 Eads
Stratton vs Eads is round two between these two teams with Stratton winning the first meeting 51 to 33. Stratton was tested in the regional finals vs Otis winning 40 to 33. This was a scrapy game that Stratton was able to escape with the win and that was also their fourth meeting of the season. Eads hit the road for regionals walking away with the 20-point win over host Kiowa. Eads seems to have shaken off the two losses to end the season. Eads I think can challenge Stratton but will need their defense to step up.

As I mentioned above, I think we are in for four great games to open the state tournament. I think all four games will be competitive this year. It will come down to who can handle the pressure of playing on the big stage. I plan on doing daily updates after each round.
