Class 2A Football Playoff Predictions First Round and Full Bracket!

First, this is just my opinion.  I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 2A bracket turns out.  Second, Good Luck to all teams!  I do not cheer against any teams.  A Full Preview of all matchups will be posted Friday.

Class 2A Playoff Predictions 1^st Round Only

Class 2A has been one of the hard Classes to fill out and I expect every game to be a good one! 2A always has one big upset and it makes predictions like this extremely difficult.

#1 Strasburg over #16 Basalt

This is no typical #1 vs #16 matchup.  Basalt is a top 8 team imo and I think this could be one of the better games on the opening round.  Honestly, I believe 2A is open and can see a lot of different teams picking up the win.  I will have my eyes on this matchup

#9 Eaton over #8 La Junta 3^rd Best Game of the First Round

This could be one of the more physical games of the opening round.  Both teams want to run the ball and controlling the line of scrimmage is key.  I think Eaton tougher schedule helps them get by La Junta, but I expect a great game!

#4 Elizabeth over #13 Pagosa Springs

This is a rematch from the last non-league game of the year.  Elizabeth beat Pagosa Springs, but a lot has changed since that game.  Pagosa Springs has made the biggest improvement and should give Elizabeth a tougher game this time around. 

#12 Delta over #5 Brush Best game of the First Round

IMO the best game of the opening round.  Delta is playing good football and showed with their win over Coal Ridge to end the year.  Delta can play physical football and that is exactly what this game will be.  Brush has proven all year they are a top team and if fully healthy I do think they will win this game. 

#2 Wellington over #15 Alamosa

Wellington appears to be on a mission this year after falling in the State Championship last year.  Alamosa will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Pagosa Springs and the key for Alamosa is stopping the run.  If they struggle, they will not win this game.

#7 Resurrection Christian over #10 Denver West

Resurrection Christian played good football down the stretch.  Rez Christian 3 losses are to top teams in their respective classes and they will look to show they can make a run this year.

#6 Kent Denver over #11 Lamar 2^nd Best Game of the First Round

This is another game that could be a good one.  Two teams with similar styles of play and both want to air things out.  Blocking and QB play will be key in this game.  Two of the top QB’s in Class 2A Square off and we could see a lot of points scored in this game.

#3 Classical Academy over #14 Florence

This will be a physical game!  Both teams look to control the line of scrimmage and who can play more physical will show who wins this game!  Both teams play in different styles and this should be a fun game.
