#27 CLEAR CREEK (5-5)

The Golddiggers still have a lot of their season in front of them, with seven games remaining. The first of those comes on Wednesday, with a trip to #33 Ellicott. They go into that contest riding a 17-2 win over #31 Platte Canyon on Monday. Ski Hall recorded three doubles and four RBI in the victory. Blake Weichel led the team with six runs knocked in. Neither of the runs allowed by Zephyrus Schuessler were earned. Next up is a doubleheader at home on Friday with #8 Estes Park, and a trip to Platte Canyon on Monday.

#28 HOEHNE (6-10-1)

Hoehne’s closing stretch starts with two at home against #25 Rye on Wednesday. The Farmers snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 9-4 win at #35 Del Norte. Hoehne took control with a six-run uprising in the second. Anthony Sandoval hit two doubles and a triple, and drove in three runs. Jacob Magninat went the distance on the hill to get the win. The Farmers will have the weekend off before hosting #29 Sanford on Monday.

#29 SANFORD (9-7)

Sanford rolled to its fourth straight win by beating #48 South Park 24-0 last Saturday. The Mustangs ended the game early with  13-run third. Rylan Mortensen was a double away from the cycle, and drove in four runs. Lucas Miller scored four times and also added three RBI. Sanford hosts 1A #28 Sierra Grande on Wednesday, and has two at home on Saturday against #21 Ignacio. The Mustangs will also host Hoehne on Monday.

#30 BURLINGTON (4-12)

The Cougars lost their third straight on Monday, falling 13-3 at 1A #4 Akron. That followed a doubleheader sweep at the hands of #12 Peyton last Saturday. Burlington hosts #41 Holyoke on Saturday for two, and will go to #9 Las Animas for one next Tuesday.

#31 PLATTE CANYON (8-6)

Platte Canyon saw its five-game winning streak snapped in Monday’s 17-2 loss to Clear Creek. Nathan Laabs had the lone hit for the Huskies, and drove in both of their runs. Braylon Spodyak walked twice and stole a base. The Huskies host 3A #46 Salida on Wednesday, and welcome South Park in for two on Friday. The homestand continues next week, with one against Clear Creek on Monday, and one on Wednesday against #13 Buena Vista.

#32 DOLORES (7-9_

The Bears start a busy closing stretch on Saturday at #36 Grand Valley. They enter that contest having fallen 11-4 on the road at Monticello (UT) on Tuesday. Declan Warren drove in two runs in that loss, and Levi Hampton scored two. After the important trip to Grand Valley, Dolores will host Del Norte for two next Tuesday.

#33 ELLICOTT (6-11)

The Thunderhawks suffered their second consecutive defeat in their last outing, falling against #40 Calhan 17-11 last Tuesday. Lazarus Brillar doubled twice and drove in five runs in the defeat, and Diego DelaRiva added three RBI. Ellicott hosts Clear Creek on Wednesday, and 3A #7 Elizabeth on Thursday. The Thunderhawks close out the regular season at #38 Colorado Springs Christian next Monday.

#34 ST. MARY’S (7-11)

A lack of timely hits hampered the Pirates in Tuesday’s 6-3 loss at Peyton. They left 11 on base in the contest. Brennan Crumb drove in two, and Isaac Velazquez plated the other. St. Mary’s hosts 3A #48 Florence for a doubleheader on Saturday, and #3 Limon next Wednesday.

#35 DEL NORTE (6-8)

Tuesday’s 9-4 loss to Hoehne was the fifth in a row for Del Norte, dating back two weeks. The Tigers scored two in the first and two in the third, but could not overcome the six-run second by the Farmers. They host #43 Rocky Ford on Saturday, and close the regular season with two at Dolores next Tuesday.
