Class 3A Baseball Regional Projections (5/12/2026)
Getting good position for Regionals can be the difference between making it to state and falling at regionals. Remember for Class 3A that to make the regional bracket you must be ranked in the top 32 of the CHSAA Seeding and Selection index. Class .A plays a single elimination bracket for regionals. I am using the latest CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index, I pulled it at 1:00pm on 5/12.

Thirty-two (32) teams qualify for the regional tournaments based on RPI/Maxpreps. League champions not in the top 32 would receive an automatic qualifying position (minimum of 5 teams in a league for automatic berth). The 8 teams with the highest RPI/Maxpreps host regionals. The remaining 24 teams will then be seeded by RPI/Maxpreps and then any first round league matchups will be adjusted. The bottom 8 teams may be moved for geographical purposes.
The regional tournament will be single elimination, with the 8 regional winners advancing to a double elimination state tournament to be played TBA at predetermined sites. Double elimination tournament with teams placed on brackets by site. Site 1 winer will be team 1, site 2 winner will be team 2, ect… Home team will be the higher seed throughout the tournament. Games will be in order by game number.

Regional Bracket- League matchups will be avoided in the first round. 8 Regional winners qualifying for state. State Tournament will be double elimination and will be reseeded.

State Tournament Seeding
Remember for the State Tournament it will still be seeded as following:
Double elimination tournament with teams placed on brackets based on their regular season seeding and selection index. Team #1 is the team with the best seeding and selection index, team #2 has the second best seeding and selection index, etc… through team #8.
So for Example let’s say the #6 team is defeated by the #11 seed in Regionals and no other upsets happen the #11 seed would go in as the #8 seed in the State Tournament.

These are just predictions, right? I just heard that La Junta will play D’Evelyn 1st round of Region 8, but you have La Junta playing Colorado Academy, in Region 8. Why the differences? Just wondering.

Yes these were projections. Not the actual brackets I will have those posted in a bit. Why I do have it labeled Projections and not brackets.
