Class 2A Baseball Regional Predictions
If you have been following MileHigh Prep Report since we started, you know how much we like doing our predictions even if we catch slack. Just know we are not cheering against any teams, and we are proven wrong all the time. We enjoy putting the predictions out there and look forward to seeing the results of the games. Biggest thing is Good Luck to all teams and leave it all on the diamond.
Region 1
#1 Forge Christian over #32 Platte Canyon
#17 Rye over #16 SkyView Academy
Regional Finals
#1 Forge Christian over #17 Rye
Rye may be on of the hottest teams coming into regionals picking up key wins over Las Animas and Buena Vista in the past couple weeks. Rye vs SkyView Academy should be a good game but sitting in front of the winner will be Forge Christian who comes in as the #1 seed.
Region 2
#2 Monte Vista over #31 Hoehne
#15 Dawson School over #18 North Fork
Regional Finals
#2 Monte Vista over #15 Dawson School
Dawson School vs North Fork should be a great game in the opening round. Could see both teams pitch their best to advance and both teams will look to challenge the #2 overall seed in Monte Vista. Monte Vista has solid pitching depth, and it will come down to their sticks getting going.
Region 3
#3 Yuma over #30 Burlington
#14 Lyons over #19 Cedaredge
Regional Finals
#3 Yuma over #14 Lyons
I think both games in the opening round of this regional could be interesting. Burlington when they have pitched their #1 has given teams fits including Yuma who they only lost to 4-2. Lyons vs Cedaredge could also be a sneaky good matchup. Lyons does enter the Regional Tournament coming off three straight losses. The Regional Finals could come down to pitching depth. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lyons pulls the upset in the Regional Finals especially if they can hold their #1 back.
Region 4
#4 Estes Park over #29 Meeker
#13 Crowley County over #20 Front Range Christian
Regional Finals
#4 Estes Park over #13 Crowley County
Crowley County vs Front Range Christian should be a great matchup in the opening round. Meeker hit a nice winning streak to get into regionals winning 5 of their last 6 games. I do think if Estes Park holds their top pitcher they will be extremely tough to beat in the Regional Finals.
Region 5
#5 Denver Christian over #28 Dolores
#12 Fowler over #21 Wiggins
Regional Finals
#5 Denver Christian over #12 Fowler
Fowler vs Wiggins could be one of the best matchups in the Opening Round. Fowlers have top end pitching with both of their top arms and Wiggins has proven they can beat some of the top teams. Should be a great matchup. Denver Christian will more than likely be sitting in the Regional Finals with their top arm available against whoever advances against Fowler vs Wiggins.
Region 6
#6 Dayspring Christian over #27 Byers
#11 Buena Vista over #22 Olathe
Regional Finals
#6 Dayspring Christian over #11 Buena Vista
Region 6 could be one of the more competitive regions across the board. Dayspring Christian vs Byers could be competitive early and Buena Vista vs Olathe may be one of the better matchups in the opening round. What could be the difference on who advances will be pitching depth.
Region 7
#7 Limon over #26 Sanford
#23 Platte Valley over #10 Wray
Regional Finals
#7 Limon over #23 Platte Valley
I know I sound like a broken record but there are some great opening round matchups and here is another one. I am going with the big upset with Platte Valley over Wray. Platte Valley will have to pitch their top pitcher to pull the upset. Limon should get by Sanford, but Sanford has made life difficult with their #1 arm as well. I do think Limon will have the edge against either Wray or Platte Valley, especially if they can hold their top pitcher back.
Region 8
#8 Las Animas over #25 Highland
#9 Peyton over #24 Ignacio
Regional Finals
#8 Las Animas over #9 Peyton
I do think the top seeds in this region both advance and I bet we even see both teams keep their #1 pitchers waiting until the regional finals. Las Animas vs Peyton should be a fantastic matchup in the regional finals. Both teams have top end pitching especially if they hold back their Aces.
