6 Man Semi Finals Breakdown

6 Man Semi Finals

  1. Arickaree/Woodlin vs Fleming Friday 6:00 pm

Arickaree/Woodlin continues their march towards a state championship with a big win over North Park 63-0. They were the only team in the quarterfinals to post a shutout. The shutout for Arickaree/Woodlin was also their 4th in a row. Arickaree/Woodlin scored the majority of their points in the first half (50). They focused mainly on their rushing attack getting 326 yards rushing on 26 carries and throwing for 45 yards. Also the 63 points was their 8th game in a row scoring over 55 points. Next up for Arickaree/Woodlin is Fleming. Fleming grab a big opening victory of Walsh 58-23. The 23 points was the most allowed by any team over the weekend. Fleming used a big second half to secure the victory. They were leading going into half time 22-16 then came out in the second half and scored 36 points to get the victory. Fleming used a balance attack in the win passing for 211 yards and rushing for 315 yards. The win for Fleming was their fifth in a row and their fourth straight victory with over 48 points scored. Fleming and Arickaree/Woodlin have a few common opponents. Both teams played Peetz, Pawnee, Otis, North Park, and Idalia. Arickaree/Woodlin won all of their games by a combined score of 285-96. Fleming did lose to Peetz 28-42 and Arickaree/Woodlin won 69-46. Fleming did win the other four by a combined score of 242-92. Arickaree/Woodlin does have the advantage over Fleming though in terms of defense. They allow 14 ppg and Fleming allows 24 ppg, their offenses are both very good though with Arickaree/Woodlin averaging 63 ppg and Fleming 52 ppg. This game could be a shootout. I don’t think that will happen. Arickaree/Woodlin has only had one game were their defense allowed over 35 points and that was to Peetz. I think that Arickaree/Woodlin defense will be stout again and shut down Fleming’s offense. Arickaree/Woodlin will win by 30+ points.

  1. Eads vs 3. Peetz Saturday 1:00 pm

Eads grab an impressive victory last week beating Kit Carson in a rematch 60-14. Eads used an impressive second quarter to push themselves to the win. No stats were available for the game. The win for Eads keep their undefeated season alive and in the chase for the gold ball. The win also was their sixth win in a row with over 55 points scored. Up next for Eads is Peetz. Peetz beat previously unbeaten Hanover 60-14. Peetz used a big 30 point second quarter to win the game. Peetz ran the ball effectively against Hanover rushing for 195 yards and throwing the ball for 88 yards. Their defense scored 12 of their points as well. This game figures to be a great game. This game could be the best on the slate when it comes to smaller classifications. Peetz has been unstoppable since their week one loss to 1st seeded Arickaree/Woodlin. They have been dominate scoring 54 ppg and allowing 26 ppg. Eads has also been dominate running thru their schedule going undefeated and averaging 60 ppg and allowing 18 ppg. These two teams do have some common opponent in Liberty/Stratton both teams won Peetz won 79-32 and Eads won 39-8. Both of teams are going to look to run the ball Peetz Averages 239 and Eads averages 201. I think this game is going to turn into a shoot-out. I think both teams are going to score over 40 points. The key to this game will be offensive efficiency. The team with the less turnovers and a high % of 3rd down conversions is going to win. I think Peetz is going to end Eads perfect season (Peetz will win by 8) and set up a rematch from the first game of the season with Arickaree/Woodlin.
