How Class 2A Playoff Works

  1. Each district qualifies one team to the regional tournament, with the remaining 9 teams determined by RPI. The teams will be seeded to the 16-team bracket by RPI, avoiding district match-ups when possible.
  2. The CHSAA liaison will determine regional sites and set game times. Regional winners will advance to the semifinal and final games on Saturday May 26, 2018.

Regional/State Qualifiers and Possible Bracket

I am picking District Champions by current standings and some predicting as well.  RPI is used to pick the remaining teams.  District Tournament will determine quite a bit!

District Champions (RPI)

District 1-Sargent (24)

District 2-Yuma (3)

District 3/5-Hotchkiss (2)

District 4-Front Range Christian (5)

District 6-Rye (4)

District 7-Dawson School (7)

District 8-Peyton (1)

At-Large Berths (RPI)

Holly (6), Calhan (8), Burlington (9), Wiggins (10), Dolores (11), Rocky Ford (12), Dayspring Christian (13), Wray (14), Clear Creek (15)

First Four Out

Holyoke (16), Fowler (17), Limon (18), Highland (19)

Regional Bracket-Regional Sites are determined by CHSAA

Region 1

#1 Peyton vs #16 Sargent

#8 Calhan vs #9 Burlington

Region 2

#4 Rye vs #13 Dayspring Christian

#5 Front Range Christian vs #12 Rocky Ford

Region 3

#3 Yuma vs #14 Wray

#6 Holly vs #11 Dolores

Region 4

#7 Dawson School vs #10 Wiggins

#2 Hotchkiss vs #15 Clear Creek

With games the District Tournaments there is still plenty of time for things to change with seedings and with team fighting for automatic berths.  If you are #14, 15, or 16 I would not feel comfortable and must have good showings at your District Tournaments.
