Class 1A Football Playoff Projections Week 10

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Rankings. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Rankings to seed the playoffs. We will have two projections listed. First is who I think makes the playoffs and the second is if the season ended today.

Class 1A Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think makes the playoffs and who wins the leagues. In Class 1A League champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Rankings. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Rankings. I am picking my 11 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. Expect changes week to week, making these projections/predictions so early. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

Big Northern: Platte Valley (Could end in Three-Way Tie. If anyone know Tiebreaker lmk Thanks!)

Front Range: Denver Christian

South Central: Burlington

Southern: Centauri

Western Slope: Meeker

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots

Dayspring Christian & Olathe

I Believe just two teams that are outside the top 16 are in the hunt. I think the top 13 teams are a lock currently, with maybe Platte Canyon or Flatirons Academy dropping with a loss but shouldn’t be enough to drop them outside.

#11 Flatirons Academy vs #12 Platte Canyon. This is my other big concern. Both teams do not have a strong SOS. Flatirons Academy is at -3.19 but I still think even a loss keeps them in but could tumble to around 14 or 15. The main team I am worried about is Platte Canyon. The Huskies have a SOS of -7.15 they don’t have a quality like Flatirons does over Dayspring Christian. I am curious if Platte Canyon drops could they possibly drop all the way to #17. That will be the main headline and it will have to wait till Saturday at 1pm.

#14 Buena Vista-Rye. Buena Vista end the year against Rye. Winner for sure gets in but I also think both have a strong enough resume to also get in.

#15 Rye-Buena Vista. Rye end the year against Buena Vista. Winner for sure gets in but I also think both have a strong enough resume to also get in.

#16 Cedaredge-Grand Valley. Cedaredge must in this game to have a shot at the playoffs. A win give them a very high shot of making it in.

#17 Dayspring Christian-Wray. Dayspring Christian must defeat Wray to have any shot at the playoffs. Dayspring Christian then will probably need some help like Rye or BV dropping with a loss or if Platte Canyon loses they could possibly take a huge stumble.

#18 Olathe-North Fork. Olathe needs to upset North Fork to have any shot at the playoffs. No other way in for Olathe.

Seeding Scenarios

Things really get interesting once you look at some of the huge matchups this final weekend. North Fork vs Olathe, Dayspring Christian vs Wray, and the main events Burlington vs C.S Christian & Platte Canyon vs Flatirons Academy.

The top 8 could really be shuffled around with the Burlington vs C.S Christian game. Burlington could snag a top 4 seed with a win. Burlington with a loss probably flops with C.S Christian. C.S Christian with a win jump to top 5 and with a loss could realistically drop to #8 or #9. C.S Christian has a -7.38 SOS and a loss could drop them to #9 but stay one ahead of Limon at #10 since head-to-head.

This is if the season ended today 10/27/2026. Using the CHSAA Rankings I will come up with the Playoff field. League Champions selected with my Predictions. I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Rankings. Remember this is still early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
