Class 2A Girls Basketball League Predictions/Game Predictions
Last 3 days of the regular season and teams are fighting for league title, playoff spots, and playoff seeding in the final 3 days. Should be a great 3 days of basketball. Remember the league champions automatically qualify for the Class 2A State Tournament. 11 possible automatic berths could be given out, but there are a few 1A and 2A leagues and we will dive into that much more in this article. The rest of the State Playoff Bracket will be selected with the CHSAA Seeding Index (RPI, Coaches Poll, Maxpreps Poll, and Packard Poll)
Class 2A Black Forrest League
League Champion: Peyton
Peyton has won the Black Forrest League title. Peyton currently only gets in due to winning the league title and would be sitting around #32. Peyton will replace whatever team is sitting at #24. Peyton is the only team from the Black Forrest League getting into the State Tournament. Peyton I think are better than a #24 team and could cause an upset in that first round.

2A/3A Confluence League
2A Schools: Ridgeview Academy, Lotus School, Addenbrooke Classical
The Confluence League is a Class 2A/3A mixed league with only the true Champion getting the automatic berth. The League Title comes down to two Class 2A teams in Addenbrooke Classical and Lotus School. They face each other tonight and the winner gets the league title and the automatic berth. I am picking Lotus School over Addenbrooke Classical for the league title. Lotus School sits at #14 and Addenbrooke Classical sits outside the top 35. If you are a bubble team you want Lotus School to win this game. If Addenbrooke Classical upsets Lotus School then Addenbrooke Classical will replace the #24 team and Peyton will replace the #23 team.

2A/3A Frontier League
2A Schools: Lake County and Platte Canyon
Like the Confluence league the Frontier league has two 2A teams in it. Lake County and Platte Canyon. Currently I do not think either 2A School will win the Frontier League. I will also give my complete prediction in the Class 3A breakdown. Currently none of the Class 2A schools are in the playoff hunt.
1A/2A Lower Platte League
League Champion: Holyoke
Holyoke is your league champion. Holyoke is not looking to hold onto a top 2 seed. Holyoke is just ahead of Sanford and Rye who are trying to move into that spot. Holyoke will face Limon in their final game of the regular season. I do think if Holyoke beats Limon they will hold onto a top 2 spot. Holyoke with a loss could drop out of the #2 spot. Holyoke will get a bye in the first round I think regardless. Sedgwick County currently sits at #10 in the seeding index. Sedgwick County has a final game against Haxtun but I don’t think it’s enough to jump to the #8 spot. Sedgwick County will host a first round game. Wray sits at #8 in the seeding index. Wray face rival Yuma on Friday and Arickaree/Woodlin on Saturday. Wray with a pair of wins should stay in the top 8 but a loss will have them fall outside the top 8. Wray would get a bye if the season ended today. Akron currently sits at #25 and needs to move to #23 and possibly #22 to get into the playoffs. Akron has two games remaining against Peetz and Fleming. Akron must win out to get into the playoffs. Yuma sits at #27. Yuma also needs to win out to get into the playoffs. Yuma plays Wray and Platte Valley to close the year and if Yuma wins both they will get into the playoffs.

3A/2A/1A Mile High League
League Champion: Heritage Christian
The Mile High League is a huge league with teams from Class 1A, 2A, and 3A. The 1A team is Longmont Christian and the Class 3A teams is Highland. I will go into more depth on Highland when I look at class 3A tomorrow. Heritage Christian is your league champion. Heritage Christian currently sits at #5 in the seeding index and would get a bye. Heritage Christian plays a non-league game against Resurrection Christian to close out the season and Heritage Christian can still move down in the seeding index. A win could also move them up. Gilpin County sits at #19 in the seeding index and have really done a good job of moving up in the index. Gilpin County is still on the bubble and face Twin Peaks Charter and Kiowa to end the year. If Gilpin County can win out, they probably can punch their ticket to the playoffs. A loss to either and they could tumble. Dawson School sits at #28 and Denver Christian sits at #30. Both would need some help to get into the playoffs. I am not sure if either can move up 5 or 7 spots, but we will watch their numbers heading into Saturday.

League Championship Game: Ignacio vs Dove Creek, Tonight March 4th
Ignacio and Dove Creek face off tonight for the league championship. The automatic berth is at stake but both teams will get into the playoffs in their respective classes. Ignacio is my pick to win this game but should be a good game. Ignacio slide out of the top 8 after their upset loss to Mancos. Ignacio now sits at #11 and would host a first round game. I am not sure if their win over Dove Creek could push them back into the top 8. Mancos sits at #17 and have nearly moved off the bubble. Mancos still has a pair of games against Nucla and Ouray and both are must wins to stay inside the top 23. The rest of the league is outside the top 30.

League Champion: Rye
Rye is your league champion. Rye locked up the league title beating Rocky Ford last week. Rye has one final game remaining against Peyton. Rye currently sits at #4 and need the win over Peyton to keep a top 4 seed. Should be another good test for Rye heading into the playoffs. Rocky Ford sits at #6 and are hoping to keep a top 8 spot. Rocky Ford have a non-league game against Sangre De Cristo on Friday. This should be a good game and a big measuring stick game for both teams. Rocky Ford may need the win to keep an top 8 spot. Fowler is on the bubble and sit at #22. Fowler has two games remaining against Holly and Limon and for sure must beat Holly to keep hopes alive. Fowler will then hope to upset Limon or hope their numbers are solid enough to hold off teams trying to jump them. Hoehne is one of the teams trying to move into the top 23. Hoehne currently sits at #26 but must be inside the top 23. Hoehne does not have any more games so they will need help to move into the top 23. Swink sits at #32 and I think are to far out to make the playoffs.

2 games remain to figure out a league champion inside the SPL. Sanford holds the keys to the title but face both Center and Del Norte who are one game back. Sanford is my pick to win both games but will be tested in back to back nights. Sanford currently sit in the #3 spot and are closely followed by Rye at #4. Sanford could also still contend for a top 2 spot but need both wins. Del Norte currently sit at #16 and would host a first round game. Del Norte only has their game against Sanford remaining and will try and upset Sanford. Center sits at #21 and have just 1 game remaining. If Center can upset Sanford, they are a lock for the playoffs and will shoot up the Index. If Center loses then they will hope their numbers can hold up and try and stay in the top 23. Sargent sits at #20 and play Custer County in their final game. This is a must win for Sargent to have any shot at the playoffs. Sargent will then hope their numbers can hold up to get into the playoffs. Monte Vista sits at #29 and have two games remaining against Bayfield and Trinidad. I don’t think Monte Vista can make up enough ground to push for a top 23 spot.

League Champion: Limon
Limon is your Union Pacific League Champion and have the automatic berth into the 2A field. Limon has some key games against Holyoke, and Fowler remaining on their schedule all will be key for seeding. Limon currently sits at #9 and would host a first round game. Limon will need to upset Holyoke I think to push for a first round bye. Burlington sits at #13 and are a lock for the playoffs. Burlington should host a first round game but cannot fall to Genoa-Hugo in their final game of the season. Byers sits at #34 and are outside looking in. I don’t think Byers can make up enough ground to get into the playoffs.
