Regional & State Qualifying Format for Baseball Class 1A thru 3A
With Covid being a factor, this season qualifying for the Regional & State Tournaments is a bit different across all 3 Classes. We will dive into each class and look at how to qualify.
Class 1A
12 teams qualify for Regional. The 5 district Champions plus the runner up each automatically qualify for the Regional tournament. The remaining two are decided by RPI. District Champions will be seeded by RPI 1-5, with the top 4 serving as regional hosts. The 5th district champion will be seeded 5th. The remaining teams will be seeded in RPI order, avoiding first round district matchups.

Class 2A
24 teams to regionals based on RPI. The 8 teams with the highest RPI will host regionals, the remaining 16 teams will be ranked by RPI and then any first round league matchups will be adjusted. The bottom 12 teams may be moved for geographical purposes.
Higher seeded team will determine the home team and last at bat in all first-round games. From Quarters through the finals a coin flip by Site director will determine home team and last at bat.

Class 3A
24 teams to regionals based on RPI. The 8 teams with the highest RPI will host regionals, the remaining 16 teams will be ranked by RPI and then any first round league matchups will be adjusted. The bottom 12 teams may be moved for geographical purposes.
Regional hosts receive a bye in first game. There will be 3 teams at each regional.
Note: Double Elimination Bracket is used for the Final 8 teams that win their regional in Class 3A.
