MileHigh Prep Report Boys Basketball Week 6 Rankings (Class 3A thru Class 1A)

We move into the 6th week of the regular season.  Class 1A had the most changes from a great weekend of games.  2 new teams join the rankings in Class 1A.  Class 2A and 3A had some readjusting but I kept the teams the same for one more week.

Class 3A

 Last Week Ranking
1. St. Mary’s (8-0)1 (6 Weeks)
2. Sterling (7-1)2
3. Colorado Academy (8-1)3
4. Aspen (7-0)4
5. Manual (3-3)5
6. Centauri (7-0)7
7. Lutheran (4-4)8
8. Kent Denver (6-1)6
9. Eagle Ridge Academy (5-0)9
10. Eaton (7-1)10
·Others: Highland, University, Englewood, The Academy, Alamosa, Denver West, Buena Vista, Pinnacle, Platte ValleyDropped out: None
Notes: No new teams in Class 3A this week.  Changed around a few spots but really hard to make major adjustments.  Kent Denver was upset by The Academy but then beat Eaton the next night.  The Academy has 3 loses and 2 are to non-top 10 teams.

Class 2A

 Last Week Ranking
1. Yuma (7-1)1 (4 weeks)
2. Wray (5-3)2
3. Denver Christian (6-2)3
4. Limon (5-2)4
5. Mancos (6-2)5
6. Lotus School (4-1)8
7. Sanford (4-3)6
8. Peyton (5-4)7
9. Vail Mountain (5-1)9
10. Holyoke (6-2)10
·Others: Fowler, Thomas MacLaren, Crowley County, Del Norte, Ignacio, Vail Christian, Holly, Rye,  Dropped out: None
Notes: Some big games this past weekend within the top 10.  Denver Christian defeated Limon and Mancos defeated Sanford.  Both teams in my rankings were already ranked higher than the teams they beat.  Limon was the team I was unsure where to move.  They were tied at half but a tough second half made the score a much bigger deficit.  I also was unsure about the #10 spot as Holyoke lost by 25 to Yuma and Fowler had a pair of impressive wins but I kept Fowler at #11.

Class 1A

 Last Week Ranking
1. Granada (8-0)1 (6 weeks)
2. Briggsdale (7-0)2
3. Evangelical Christian (7-0)4
4. Sierra Grande (7-0)6
5. Prairie (4-1)NR
6. Haxtun (5-3)3
7. Genoa-Hugo (6-1)5
8. Belleview Christian (5-3)8
9. Simla (3-2)9
10. Caprock Academy (5-0)NR
·Others: Denver Waldorf, Springfield, Cheyenne Wells, Hanover, Wiley, La Veta, Cheraw Dropped Out: Cheyenne Wells (7)
Notes: 1A had some major changes after this past weekend.  Prairie continues to surprise me as they upset Haxtun this past weekend and join the rankings for the first time this year at #5.  Haxtun falls from #3 to #6.  Cheyenne Wells was also upset by Springfield and fall from the rankings.  Caprock Academy joins the rankings for the first time this year at #10.  I think we will continue to see changes in Class 1A.
