MileHigh Prep Reports Top 10 Games of the Week (Class 3A)
We are doing something a bit different this season and looking at the top 10 games of the week. These games are picked by MileHigh Prep Report and ranking does not matter. We will separate into two classes and go from there for the first few weeks. If there are not 10 games that catch are eye, we will lower the number of games. Good Luck this season to all teams!
Class 3A
#1 Roosevelt vs #4 Palisade
A top 4 matchup to kick things off in Class 3A. Both teams have playoff hopes but also both want deep playoff runs.
#5 Frederick vs #7 Holy Family
Two teams looking for a statement win to start the season. Both teams return talented rosters and both teams play different styles of football. Frederick is more ground and pound and Holy Family loves to air it out. Great matchup!
Pueblo South at Pueblo County
Cross Town rivalry to open the season. Two teams with playoff aspirations and two teams looking to dominate the Pueblo area. This should be a great opening season matchup!
#2 Durango vs Farmington NM
Durango will face out of state opponent Farmington to open the season and should be a solid test for a young Durango defense. Farmington went 10-2 a season ago so this should be a test for Durango.
Severance vs Canon City
Severance moves into Class 3A, and this is their first test in Class 3A. This will give everyone in 3A a clue whether Severance will be a threat or not. Canon City hopes to get things rolling in 2022.
#8 Fort Morgan vs Conifer
Both teams look to get off to hot starts this season. Fort Morgan is your defending state champions but lose a good senior class. This could be a good game for Fort Morgan to find out what they have. Conifer is looking to rebound from a 3-7 season and knocking off a top team like Fort Morgan could do just that.
Mead vs Windsor (4A)
Another great matchup between two teams with playoff aspirations. Mead was your runner up a season ago and will look to get things rolling in 2022. Mead will face 4A Windsor who is looking to rebound off a tough 2021 campaign.
Northfield at Aurora Central (4A)
Northfield moves into Class 3A, and they open their 2022 season against 4A Aurora Central. This will be a big test to see where Northfield will fall in Class 3A.
#9 Evergreen at Battle Mountain (Thursday)
This is an interesting matchup. Evergreen is looking for a deep run this season but cannot overlook Battle Mountain. This should be a good matchup and will tell us a bunch about both teams.
Riverdale Ridge at Mountain View
Riverdale Ridge missed the playoffs a season ago and getting off on the right foot is very important for them. They face Mountain View who went 2-8 last season, and this is one of those games that you must win to reach the playoffs.
