2A Volleyball Preseason Preview and Review Part 2
As the fall sports season starts, we look at the 2A teams and see how each team did, who is returning to defend their spots or dethrone other teams, and when each team will take their first steps into the 2026 volleyball season.
Santa Fe League
Crowley County
Crowley County will get their 2026 season started on 9/1 on the road against La Junta. Last season the Chargers went 8-15 overall on the season, 3-6 in league play and ended 6th in the Santa Fe League. During league play, the team fell to Hoehne, Swink, Swallows Charter, Rye, Rocky Ford, and Fowler, but was able to beat Walsenburg and Las Animas. Returning this season for the Chargers will be stat leaders Emalee Ross who had 20 serving aces, 127 digs, 9 assists and 154 receptions and Ava Caballero who had 16 assists and 107 receptions.
Fowler
The Grizzlies finished their 2025 season with a 15-10 overall record, a 6-2 league record, and in 3rd in the Santa Fe League. Fowler lost to Swink and Rye in league play but was able to get wins over Rocky Ford, Walsenburg, Swallows Charter Academy, Las Animas, Crowley County, and Hoehne. Returning for the 2026 season for Fowler are last seasons stat leaders Kacie Day who had 23 total blocks, Lorelai Woods who had 20 total blocks, Syriah Alvarez who had 36 serving aces, 331 assists, and133 kills, and Kory Pieper who had 403 digs, 29 assists, 167 kills and 348 receptions. The first game for the Grizzlies will be at home on 8/27 against Manitou Springs.
Hoehne
Hoehne completed their season with an 11-14 overall record, a 5-3 league record and they finished 4th in the Santa Fe League. The Farmers were able to get league wins over Las Animas, Crowley County, Rocky Ford, and Walsenburg, but fell to Swink, Rye and Fowler. Returning for 2026 season are previous stat leaders Braylee Foster who had 17 total blocks, 27 serving aces, 168 digs, 142 kills and 159 receptions, Kaylee Schlensker who had 22 total blocks,21 serving aces, 80 kills and 232 receptions, Paisley SanRoman who had 13 total Blocks, and Taylor Trujillo who had 18 assists. Hoehne’s season will start on 8/20 at home in a league game against Las Animas.
Las Animas
The Trojans completed the 2025 season with a 10-13 overall record, a 2-6 league record, and in 7t h in the Santa Fe league. In league play, Las Animas was able to beat Walsenburg and Rocky Ford, but fell to Hoehne, Swink, Rye, Swallows Charter Academy, Fowler, and Crowley County. Las Animas will be looking to end this season with a better league standing and will be looking to retuning stat leaders Jadann Eck, who had 53 total blocks, 30 serving aces, 190 digs, 24 assists, 156 kills and 220 receptions, Roree Willbanks who had 28 total blocks and 49 kills, Ava LaBarge who had 41 serving aces, 308 digs, and 372 receptions, Mayela Magana who had 178 digs and 214 receptions, and Bree Tyler who had 146 assists. Las Animas will start the 2026 season off on the road to Hoehne on 8/20.
Rocky Ford
The Meloneers ended to 2025 season with a 5-10 overall record, a 1-7 league record and in 8th in the Santa Fe League. During league play, Rocky Ford fell to Walsenburg, SCA, Fowler, Hoehne, Rye, and Las Animas, but was able to get the win over Crowley County. The team will be looking to have an improved season this year and will be looking for their returning players to lead the way. These players will be stat leaders Mariella Romero who had 12 total blocks and 64 kills, and Elizabeth Marchand who had 75 receptions. The 2026 season will kick off for the Meloneers on 8/22 on the road against Hanover.
Rye
The Thunderbolts ended 2025 with an 18-7 overall record, a 7-1 league record, and in 2nd in the Santa Fe league. Rye’s lone league loss came against Swink, but the team was able to get wins over Las Animas, Crowley County, Hoehne, Fowler, Walsenburg, Rocky Ford and SCA. Returning for the team in the 2026 season are Kaylee Walton who had 41 serving aces, Reese Simpson who had 177 assists, and Trinity Felthager who had 177 receptions. Rye’s season will start on the road on 8/22 against Custer County.
Swallows Charter Academy
SCA Finished the previous season with a 16-9 overall record, a 4-4 league record, and in 5th in the Santa Fe League. The Spartans were able to win their league games against Rocky Ford, Walsenburg, Crowley County and Las Animas but fell to Swink, Fowler, Hoehne. And Rye. The team will be looking to improve their league rank this season and will be looking for help from their returning stat leaders. These players will be Keira Graham who had 48 total blocks, 233 digs, 94 kills and 233 receptions, Sydnee Borden who had 12 total blocks, 84 serving aces, 190 digs, 216 assists, and 79 kills, Taylor Bond who had 34 serving aces, 210 kills and 155 receptions, Riley Jame who had 205 digs, and 173 receptions, and Grace Ochs who had 28 serving aces and 183 assists. SCA’s season will begin on8/25 on the road in Walsenburg for a league game.
Walsenburg
The Panthers ended last season 9th in the Santa Fe league with a 1-8 league record and a 5-17 overall record. The league win for the team was against Rocky Ford, but the team lost to SCA, Fowler, Swink, Las Animas, Crowley County, Hoehne, and Rye. The team will be looking to compete better this season in league play and will be looking to the retuning players, Deja Lessar, Adrianna Bobian, Alexia Mohahan, Suzie Bobian, and Harlow Vialpando, to lead the team to more success this season. Walsenburg’s season will kick off on the road on 8/22 in La Veta.
Southern Peaks League
Buena Vista
Buena Vista completed their 2025 season with a 21-6 overall record, a 5-1 league record, and in 2nd in the Southern Peak League. The Demons were able to beat all of their league opponents, including Monte Vista, Trinidad, Center, and Del Norte, except for Sanford. This season, the team will be looking to sweep the league and will be returning Marley Krasnow (Sr), Willow Smith (Jr), Taylor Williams (Sr) Penny Bearess (Sr), Bella Speckman (Sr) Liz Molitor (Sr), Ashlynne Goodwin (Sr) and Macy Reevis (Jr). The Demons season will begin on 8/22 at home and they will take on the St. Mary’s Pirates.
Center
The Vikings concluded their 2025 season going 12-12 overall, 2-4 in league play, and finished 5th in the Southern Peaks League. Against league opponents, Center was able to beat Trinidad and Crested Butte but fell to Buena Vista, Monte Vista, Del Norte, and Sanford. The team will look to improve their record this season and will be looking to return last season’s stat leaders Emilia Valdez who had 15 total blocks, 180 digs, and 123 kills, Keomi Chavez who had7 total blocks, Karyme Chavez who had 21 serving aces and 164 digs, Kendra Gomez-Gonzalez who had243 receptions and 174 digs, Edie Tafoya, Landry Neufeld who had 78 assists, and Maya Swanson who had 62 assists. The start of the season for Center will be on 8/20 as they travel to Salida.
Crested Butte
The Titans ended 2025 with a 9-13 overall record, a 1-5 league record and ended 6th in the Southern Peaks league. Crested Butte lost in league play to Center, Buena Vista, Del Norte, Sanford and Trinidad, but was able to get the win over Monte Vista. The team will be looking to improve their performance from last year this season. Returning to the team to help lead the team are last season’s stat leaders Haley Roberts who had 8 total blocks, 211 digs, 110 kills and 280 receptions, Mia O’Neil who had 39 serving aces, 258 digs, 45 assists, 312 kills and 37 receptions, and Lanaea Clifton who had 159 assists. Crested Butte will start their season on 8/22 on the road to take on Ridgway.
Del Norte
Del Norte completed their 2025 season with a 9-14 overall record, with a 3-3 league record, and in 3rd in the Southern Peaks League. The Tigers were able to get league wins over Center, Crested Butte, and Trinidad last season but fell to Sanford, Buena Vista, and Monte Vista. The team will be looking to improve their league standings and get back to the state tournament this season and will be returning stat leaders Tessa Vite, who had 12 total blocks, Ady Ruybal who had 11 total blocks, Julia Trujillo who had 31 serving aces, and 258 digs, Brynley Brown who had 25 serving aces, 216 digs, and 161 kills, Emma Parra who had 223 digs and 110 kills, Caleigh Sierra who has 147 assists, and Makenzie Consaul who had 13 assists. The 2026 season for the Tigers will begin at home on 8/26 against Ignacio.
Monte Vista
Monte Vista ended their 2025 season going 13-10 overall, 3-4 in league play, and finished 4th in the Southern Peaks League. The Pirates were able to get league wins against Cener, Trinidad and Del Norte but fell to Sanford, Buena Vista, and Crested Butte. This season the team will be looking to finish higher in the league rankings. Returning for Monte Vista are stat leaders Destiny Pacheco who had 33 total blocks and 38 serving aces, Reminee Mascarenas who had 276 digs and 361 receptions, Krissa Padilla who had 115digs and 133 receptions, Abbi Ortega who had 208 assists, and Janessa Marquez who had 113 kills. The Pirates season will start on the road on 8/27 against Trinidad.
Sanford
Sanford wrapped up their 2025 season with a 20-5 overall record, a 7-0 league record and at the top on the Southern Peaks League. The Mustangs will be looking to repeat their success this season and remain at the top of the league and make a run in the play-offs. Returning this season to help Sanford remain at the top are stat leaders Lettie Larson who had 24 total blocks, Jewel Caldon who had 23 total blocks and 79 kills, Brinlyn Smith who had 44 serving aces, 216 digs, 12 assists, and 425 receptions, and Claire Crowther who had 165 digs, 12 assists, 191 kills and 249 receptions. The 2026 season will kick off for Sanford on the road on 8/21 in La Veta.
Trinidad
The Miners wrapped up 2025 with a 5-17 overall record, a 1-6 league record and in 7th in the Southern Peaks league. Trinidad’s lone league win came over Crested Butte towards the end of the season. The team will be looking to have a more competitive season this year and work their way up the league ranks. Leading the team this season are returning stat leaders Mikayla Hinchlet who had 107 total blocks, 20 serving aces and 49 kills, Maya Morales who has 64 total blocks and 61 kills, Summer Hernandez who had 28 total blocks, 25 serving aces, 92 assists, and Alicia Barron with 163 digs and 355. The 2026 season will begin on 8/27 at home against Monte Vista.
Tri-Peaks League
Atlas Preparatory School
The Gryphons had a tough season last year, going 0-21 overall, 0-9 in league play, and ending 13th in the Tri-Peaks league. League losses for Atlas Prep were against St. Mary’s, Banning Lewis Academy, Manitou Springs, James Irwin, La Junta, Woodland Park, Ellicott, Lamar, and The Vanguard School. The team will be looking to make some improvements this season and get a few wins under their belt. Their season will start on the road at Rocky Ford on 8/25.
Fountain Valley
Fountain Valley finished the previous season 10-10 overall on the season, 2-4 in league play, and 5th in the Black Forest league. The Danes were able to beat league opponents Liberty Tree Academy and Monument Academy, but fell to Calhan, Simla, Peyton, and Thomas MacLaren School. The team will be looking to improve their performance this season and will be bringing back stat leaders Tenzin Choedon who had 59 total blocks, 36 serving aces, and 62 kills, Evelyn Brown who had 16 total blocks, Ainsley Joseph who had 61 serving aces, 499 digs, 24 assists, and 464 receptions, Olivia Nunez-Alley who had 39 serving aces, 180 assists, and 50 kills, Asha Lawal who had 255 digs and 206 receptions, Keira Llewelyn who had 241 digs 278 receptions and 103 kills, and Kylin McKessy who had 134 assists. Fountain Valley will start their season off on 9/8 when the travel to Lamar.
St. Mary’s
The Pirates ended 2025 with a 12-11 overall record, a 5-7 league record, and finished 8th in the Tri-Peaks League. St. Mary’s was able to get league wins over Atlas Preparatory, Manitou Springs, Florence, and James Irwin but fell to Lamar, CSCHS, Banning Lewis, Woodland Park, La Junta, salida and The Vanguard School. Returning this season to lead the team are stat leaders Anna Collins who had 44 total blocks and 114 kills, Caroline Newkirk who had 14 total blocks and 62 kills, Shane Carter who had 5 total blocks, Julia Clieves who had 59 serving aces, 58 digs, and 221 assists, Kate Montague who had 33 serving aces, 137 digs, 25 assists, and 305 receptions, Morgan Kelty who had 32 serving aces, and Ally Flanigan who had 132 digs and 249 receptions. The 2026 season will kick off on 8/20 for St. Mary’s on the road to take on Swink.
The Vanguard School
The Coursers wrapped up 2025 19-6 overall, 11-1 in league play, and 2nd in the Tri-Peaks league. The Vanguard had a successful season in league play, only falling to Lamar and getting wins over all their other league opponents. This season, the team will be looking to continue their success and will be bringing back stat leaders Jenna Henson, who had 60 total blocks and 186 kills, Ainsley Anderson who had 82 serving aces and 452 assists, Izzy brown who had 63 serving aces and 129 kills, and Laila Czarniawski who had 224 digs and 263 receptions. The season for the Coursers will kick off on 8/25 at home against the Falcons.
Union Pacific League
Burlington
Burlington ended their 2025 season with a 17-8 overall record, a 5- 1 league record and 2nd in the Union Pacific League. The Cougars were able to beat league opponents Genoa-Hugo/Karval, Byers, Limon, Flagler and Deer Trail, but fell to Stratton. The team will be looking to get a full sweep of the league this season and will be returning stat leaders Emma McNerney who had 56 blocks and 182 kills, Nevaeh Cure who had 19 blocks, Shayd Skarphol who had 271 digs and 297 receptions, Jandri Barkhuizen who had 251 assists, and My Lee who had 232 receptions. Burlington’s season will start on 8/27 at home against Kit Carson.
Byers
Byers ended their 2025 season with a 10-15 overall record, a 4-3 league record, and in 3rd in the Union Pacific League. The Bulldogs were able to beat their league opponents Flagler, Deer Trail, and Limon and fell to Genoa-Hugo/Karval, Stratton and Burlington. Byers will be looking to end this season higher up in the league with the help of returning stat leaders Ainsley Sauer who had 37 blocks, Taiya Eymann with 26 blocks, Karley Linnebur with 55 serving aces, 269 digs, 255 kills and 345 receptions, Joclynn Rector with 26 serving aces, 204 digs, 179 kills, and 327 receptions, Leyla Sayler with 44 serving aces and 458 assists, and Zoie Murphy with 85 assists. The 2026 season for Byers will kick off on 8/24 at home against Clear Creek.
Limon
The Badgers struggled their way through the season last year, going 1-22 overall, 1-6 in league play and ending 6th in the Union Pacific league. Limon’s single win last season was against league opponent Deer Trail. Limon will be looking to have a better season this year and will be returning last seasons’ stat leaders Mariah Ravenkamp who had 18 total blocks, Madison Witt who had 9 total blocks and 213 kills, Chloe Stone who had 26 serving aces, 338 digs, 23 assists, and 383 receptions, Braelyn Malcom who had 23 serving aces and 466 assists, and Sophia McCormick who had 233 digs, 104 kills, and 387 receptions. The first game for Limon will be on 8/22 on the road against Kiowa.
West Central League
Custer County
Custer County wrapped up last season with a 16-9 overall record, a 3-0 league record and in 1st in the West Central League. The Bobcats beat league opponents South Park, Cotopaxi, and Cripple Creek-Victor to earn the top league spot. With most of the stat leaders graduating, there will be some big shoes to fill, but the team will have retuning stat leaders Abbigail Hemsath, who had 162 digs and 85 kills, and Trinity Downing, who had 28 assists and 206 receptions, to lead the team. The team will start their games on 8/22 at home against Rye.
Lake County
Last season, Lake County went 2-21 overall, 1-7 in league play and finished 11th in the Frontier league. The team was able to get a league win over The Pinnacle but fell to Middle Park, Platte Canyon, Arrupe Jesuit, Arvada, Bennett and Fort Lupton. The team will be looking to have a more successful season this year and will be bringing back Nevaeh Barela who had 3 total blocks, Mallory Negrete who had 3 total blocks, 22 serving aces, and 46 kills, Andi Diamond who had 13 serving aces, 73 digs, 17 kills and 217 receptions, Angelina Ramos who had 73 digs and 27 kills, Arianna Gonzales who had 46 assists, and Ryden Hofer who had 35 assists.
Platte Canyon
The Huskies completed their 2025 season with a 12-10 overall record with a 7-4 league record, and they finished 4th in the Frontier league. In league play, Platte Canyon lost to Fort Lupton, Arrupe Jesuit, Middel Park, and Bennett but was able to get wins over Lake County, The Pinnacle, Alameda, Jefferson, Arvada, Sheridan, and Englewood. The team will be looking to continue having success but will try to move their way up the league rankings. Returning to lead the team will be stat leaders Abbi Tomasko who had 30 total blocks, 34 serving aces, 110 assists, and 134 kills, Zoe Lubansky who had 28 total blocks and 106 kills, Hanne Rhue who had 11 total blocks and 81 kills, Brooke Chick who had 64 serving aces, 82 digs, and 228 assists, Cameron Martinez, who had 33 serving aces and 104 receptions, Rachael Hayes who had 83 digs and 206 receptions, Dakota Speelman who had 18 assists. Platte Canyon will start their season on 8/20 on the road to take on ACA.
South Park
The Burros wrapped up 2026 with a 7-15 overall record, a 3-1 league record and in 2nd in the West Central league. South Park was able to get wins over Trinidad, Cotopaxi, and Cripple Creek-Victor, but fell to Custer County. The team will be looking to continue competing in league play this season and will be returning stat leaders Aubri Charles who had 47 total blocks and 81 kills, Kayla Fikejs who had 31 total blocks and 156 receptions, Angelina Springer who had 24 serving aces, 8 assists, 80 kills, and 310 receptions, Annie Johns who had 23 serving aces, 264 digs, and 188 assists, and Kally Downare who had 433 digs and 415 receptions. South Park will kick off games on 8/22 at home against TCSS.
Western Slope League
Caprock Academy
Caprock Academy finished the 2025 season with a 14-7 overall record, a 7-3 league record and 4th in the Western Slope League. During league play, the Eagles fell to Plateau Valley, Vail Christian, and Meeker but was able to beat Soroco, Rangely, North Park, Vail Mountain, Hayden, De Beque, and West Grand. This season the team will be looking to move their way up the league ranks and will be looking to their returning stat leaders to lead the way. These leaders will be Kyla Hardy who had 34 total blocks, Alaina Scripps who had 24 total blocks, Ali Guffey who had 37 serving aces, 117 digs, and 161 assists, Tiara Gonzalez Cardenas who had 71 assists, and Rachel Bogan who had 87 kills and 121 receptions. This season will start for the Eagles on 8/29 when they host Rangely.
Cedaredge
The Bruins wrapped up the 2025 season going 12-13 overall, 4-6 in league play and finished 7th in the Western Slope league. In league play, Cedaredge was able to beat Moffat County, Grand Valley, and Olathe but fell to Coal Ridge, Basalt, Aspen, Gunnison, North Fork, and Roaring Fork. The Bruins will be looking to improve on their final standings this year and will be looking to the returning stat leaders to help lead the way. The returning stat leaders for Cedaredge will be Zea Robidoux, who had 16 total blocks and 18 serving aces, Olivia Vlair. who had 14 serving aces and 31 assists, Trieah Dittrich, who had 84 digs, 88 kills, and 116 receptions, and Lydia Tietz, who had 273 assists. Games will kick off on 8/21, starting with a home game against Soroco.
Grand Valley
The Cardinals ended the 2025 season with a 4-19 overall record, a 1-9 league record and in 10th in the Western Slope League. Grand Valley was able to get a league win over Moffat County but lost to Aspen, Cedaredge, Coal ridge, Roaring Fork, Olathe, Gunnison and North Fork. Returning this season to try and find more success for the team are stat leaders Hayden Koley who had 167 total blocks, Kylene Mascioli who had 146 total blocks, 21 serving aces, and 82 kills, Estrella Valdez who had 654 digs and 139 receptions, and Kyleigh Hernandez who had 144 assists. The 2026 season will begin on 8/25 for Grand Valley when they go on the road to take on Roaring Fork.
Hayden
Hayden will begin 2026 off with a home game on 8/21 against Telluride. Last season the team ended 6-16 overall, 3-7 in league play and 8th in the Western Slope league. League wins for the Tigers last season were against Vail Mountain, North Park, and De Beque. Hayden will be looking to make some improvement this season to their overall standings and will be brining back stat leaders Ella Harris, who had 16 total blocks, 44 serving aces, 154 digs, 150 assists, and 148 kills, Chase Howard who had 22 serving aces and 208 assists, Kobi Ortiz who had 224 digs, 8 assists and 372 receptions.
Meeker
The Cowboys completed last season with a 15-10 overall record, a 8-2 league record and finished 3rd in the Western Slope League. League wins for Meeker were over De Beque, Soroco, Rangely, Hayden, West Grand, North Park, Caprock Academy, and Vail Mountain. This season, Meeker will be looking to continue their success and will tr to move up the league rankings. Returning for the team will be stat leaders Raegan Clatterbaugh who had 36 total blocks, 142 kills and 137 receptions, Sawyer May who had 16 total blocks, 32 serving aces, and 89 kills, and Hailey Schwartz who had 110 assists. The season for Meeker will kick off on 8/21 on the road against Glenwood Springs.
North Fork
The Miners wrapped up 2025 with a 16-9 overall record, a 6-3 league record and in 4th in the Western Slope league. North Fork was able to get league wins over Roaring Fork, Moffat County, Basalt, Olathe, Cedaredge, and Grand Valley. The team will be looking to get their momentum going this season and will be looking to return several of last seasons’ stat leaders including Ava Stucker who had 14 total blocks and 39 serving aces, Saydee Allen who had 10 total blocks, 235 digs, and 520 assists, Alyssa Dawes who had 239 digs, 162 kills, and 276 receptions and Alyssa Lovelaace who had 186 kills. The team will kick off their season on 8/20 on the road to Gunnison.
Olathe
The Olathe Pirates finished last season 5-17 overall, 1-9 in league play and in 9th in the Western Slope League. Olathe’s lone league win was over Grand Valley while they lost to Aspen, Basalt, Moffat County, Gunnison, Roaring Fork, Coal Ridge Cedaredge and North Fork. Returning stat leaders for the Pirates are Maryann Fassett who had 140 total blocks and 147 kills, Haley Cox who had 68 total blocks, 40 serving aces, 271 digs, and 251 assists, Natalia Nieto who had 47 total blocks, Isabela Cortes who had 35 serving aces and 86 kills, Alexandria Avila who had 23 serving aces, 199 assists, and 82 kills Adrianna Martinez who had 294 digs and 343 receptions. The season for Olathe will begin on 8/22 at home against Soroco.
Rangely
The end of the 2025 season saw Rangely with an 11-12 overall record, a 4-6 league record, and in 7th in the Western Slope League. The Panthers were able to get league wins over West Grand, Hayden, North Park, and De Beque. Rangely will be looking to improve on their record this season and will be returning Natalie Bollinger who had 30 total blocks, Isabella Cox who had 54 serving aces and 215 assists, Teagan Behunin who had 52 serving aces, 179 digs, 109 kills and 296 receptions, Taylor Fouch who had 244 digs, 16 assists, and 433 receptions, and Rylee Kenney who had 274 assists. The Panthers will kick off the 2026 season on 8/21 at home against Hayden.
Soroco
The Rams finished last season 6th in the Western Slope League with a 5-5 league record and with an 11-8 overall record. League wins for Soroco were Rangely, North Park, Vail Mountain, Hayden and De Beque. The team will be looking to climb the league rankings this season and will be returning Alexis Lacovetto who had 31 total blocks and 138 kills, Makinly Long who had 16 total blocks, 43 serving aces, 173 digs, 279 assists, and 60 kills, Mary Adrian who had 165 digs, Lily Truitt who had 108 assists, Anna Sims who had 54 assists, and Ellie Carolus who had 172 receptions. The first game of 2026 for the Rams will be against Cedaredge on 8/21 on the road.
Vail Christian
The Saints ended the previous season at the top of the Western Slope League in 1st with a 10-0 league record and with a 21-6 overall record. Vail Christian took the league title and made a run in the postseason, going 4-2 overall and losing their last game to Wiggins. The team will be looking to repeat their success and make it back to the state tournament and will be returning Stella Hawkins who had 49 total blocks and 137 kills, Ryan Baron who had 44 total blocks, Mary McClarrinon who had 30 total blocks, 305 kills and 240 receptions, Michelle Teague who had 49 serving aces, 190 digs, 210 kills, and 261 receptions Tenley Brasington who had 48 serving aces, 538 assists, and Sam Bates who had 318 digs, 49 assists, and 482 receptions. The season will start on 8/22 for the Saints at home against Wiggins.
Vail Mountain
Vail Mountain ended 2025 with a 5-13 overall record, a 3-7 league record and in 9th in the Western Slope League. The Rangers were able to get league wins over North Park, Rangely, and De Beque last season and will be looking to get a few more wins this season and will take be bringing back most of their stat leaders including Weston Phillips, who had 17 total blocks, 39 serving aces, 103 digs, 99 assists, and 120 kills, Pema’I Aungae who had 5 total blocks, Riley Fellman who had 5 total blocks, Abby Adichio who had 25 serving aces, 108 digs, 55 kills, and 160 receptions, , Tatum Jaffe who had 145 digs, 7 assists, and 20 0receptions, and Gracie Cohn who had 173 receptions. 2026 will kick off for Vail Mountain on 8/22 on the road when they take on Plateau Valley.
West Grand
The Mustangs ended the 2025 season 15-8 overall, 5-5 in league play and 5th in the Western Slope League. West Grand was able to beat Vail Mountain, North Park, Soroco, De Beque and Hayden. The team will be looking to improve on their 5-5 league record this season and will be brining back Jocelyn Holmes are 41 total blocks and 116 kills, Amber Williams who had 16 total blocks, Cora Osborne who had 11 total blocks, Brooke Terryberry who had 49 serving aces, 210 digs, 207 kills and 357 receptions, and Teagan Bruchez who had 117 assists. The Mustangs will start their season off on 8/28 and will host Mancos.
5280 League
Vanguard Classical East
The Hawks ended their last season with a 10-13 overall record, getting wins over STEAD, Bellview Chrisitan, Ellicott, LSFE, Victory Prep Academy, William Smith, AWCPA, ARMA Dei Academy, and Liberty Tree Academy. Vanguard Classical East will be looking to have a successful season this year and will be returning stat leaders Le’Sighya Mosley who had 7 total blocks, Lexi Fedak who had 7 total blocks, 27 serving aces, 21 digs, 45 kills and 125 receptions, Miley Paul who had 22 serving aces, 20 assists, and 94 receptions, Briza Betancourt who had 29 digs and 104 receptions, and Malia Ashley who had 14 kills. VCS will start their season on 8/24 at home and will face DSST: Elevate Northeast.
Victory Prep Academy
Victory Prep Academy ended their 2025 season only 1-14 overall, 1-10 in league play and finished 6th in the 5280 leagues. The teams lone win was against league opponent Beth Eden Baptist and this season the team will be looking to have a more successful year. The Knights first game will be on 9/16 at home against LSFE.
