6-Man Football League Predictions and Playoff Predictions
We have completed the first three weeks of the season and I felt it was time I updated my league predictions and give my first playoff prediction. I did this last week for 1A thru 3A and now it’s time to update 8-Man and 6-Man. Of course, this is extremely early, and I will update again in two weeks then this will be weekly once we kick off league play. I will be limiting my article length due to the longer breakdowns done by Kerry Sherman tomorrow. Again, I am not cheering against any team but felt I needed to update all my predictions.
My preseason predictions are located here: Preseason Predictions Click Here

League One
1. Fleming
2. Briggsdale
3. Prairie
4. North Park
5. Peetz
6. Weldon Valley
League One Continues to be one of the toughest Leagues in 6-Man Football. Once again possibly 4 teams will push for the playoffs and possibly a fifth. League play has kicked off in League One. Fleming stays as my pick to win League One. Fleming is 3-0 currently and travel out of state this week to face Crawford NE. Fleming moves back into Colorado next week against Haxtun (8-Man). Briggsdale moves into the #2 spot. Briggsdale is 2-1 currently and picked up a huge league win over Prairie last week. Briggsdale moves back out of league play this week when they travel to face Arickaree. Prairie falls into the #3 spot. Prairie is 1-2 currently and come off that tough loss to Briggsdale. Prairie will look to bounce back against Bethune this week. North Park is my pick to finish 4th. North Park is 0-2 currently after a pair of top 10 matchups. North Park will look to get win #1 when they host Weldon Valley this Saturday.
Playoff Contenders: Fleming, Prairie, North Park, Briggsdale
League Two
1. Stratton
2. Arickaree
3. Genoa-Hugo
4. Otis
5. Idalia
6. Hi-Plains
7. Flagler
League Two will also be a top league in 6-Man Football. League Two could get 4 or 5 teams in just depends on what the RPI does heading deeper into the season. Stratton is my pick to win League Two. Stratton is 3-0 currently and have 3 quality wins to open the season. Stratton kicks off league play with a top 10 matchup against Genoa-Hugo. Arickaree jumps into my second-place pick. Arickaree is 3-0 currently with 2 quality wins. Arickaree will face Briggsdale this week and is a big RPI game. Genoa-Hugo is my pick to finish in 3rd. Genoa-Hugo is also 3-0 to start the season with 1 quality win over Eads. Genoa-Hugo will face Stratton this week and will be their toughest game to date. Otis is my pick for 4th. Otis is also 3-0 and have a quality win over Briggsdale. Otis will travel to Idalia and will be key for Otis to push for a top 3 finish in league. Idalia is my pick for 5th. Idalia has had key injuries to key players. Idalia will look to bounce back against Otis this week but I think if Idalia can pick up an upset somewhere could still get into the playoffs.
Playoff Contenders: Stratton, Arickaree, Genoa-Hugo, Otis, Idalia
League Three
1. Deer Trail
2. Hanover
3. Bethune
4. Kiowa
5. Miami-Yoder
6. Manzanola
League Three looks to be the weakest League in 6-Man. Two of the 6 teams did not have teams last season and the remaining 4 all lose key pieces from their teams. League Three could be a one berth league and it will be a wide-open race. Deer Trail is my pick to win League 3. Deer Trail is 3-0 to start the season but have not played the toughest schedule. Deer Trail should move to 4-0 when they face Manzanola this week. Deer Trail will have its first true test on 10/6 against North Park. Hanover is my pick to finish second. Hanover has a pair of solid wins over Mountain Valley and Weldon Valley. Hanover will face Sierra Grande and a win here could boost their hopes at a at-large berth. Hanover won’t face Deer Trail till 10/21. The rest of the league will be in the hunt for the league title but I think two teams are the favorite currently.
Playoff Contenders: Deer Trail, Hanover
League Four
1. Granada
2. Eads
3. Cheraw
4. Cheyenne Wells
5. Walsh
6. Kit Carson
Another very tough league in League 4. This will be a very competitive league and all 6 teams could be pushing for playoff spots, but I think just 4 or 5 get in. This will be in my opinion the toughest league in 6-Man. Granada is my pick to win League Four. Granada is 1-2 currently but have a quality win over Branson/Kim. Granada forfeited last week after dealing with injuries. Granada will face Walsh this week to open league play. We will see how the injuries effect Granada. Eads moves into my pick for second place. Eads is 2-1 currently with a quality win over Sierra Grande. Eads if they can stay healthy could be the surprise team. Eads will open league play against Kit Carson. Cheraw is my pick for 3rd place. Cheraw is 1-2 currently and come off a loss to Stratton. Cheraw will hope to upend Cheyenne Wells this week. Cheyenne Wells is my pick for 4th. Cheyenne Wells can quickly move up my predictions when they host Cheraw this week. Walsh is my pick for 5thand I think a playoff hopeful. Walsh is 2-1 with a quality win over Mountain Valley. They host Granada this week and a upset would be huge for them going forward.
Playoff Contenders: Granada, Eads, Cheraw, Cheyenne Wells, Walsh
League Five
1. Branson/Kim
2. La Veta
3. Sierra Grande
4. Mountain Valley
5. Cotopaxi
6. Primero
7. Sangre De Cristo
League 5 continues to improve every year and this year it looks to be very competitive. Branson/Kim stays as my pick to win League Five. Branson/Kim opened league play with a big 28-22 win over Sierra Grande last week. Branson/Kim face Sangre De Cristo this week before a big stretch of games. La Veta jumps into my pick for second place. La Veta is 3-0 currently with quality wins over Walsh and Hanover. La Veta opened league with a win over Mountain Valley last week. La Veta will face a improved Primero this week. Sierra Grande is my pick to finish 3rd. Sierra Grande is 1-2 and they opened league with a loss to Branson/Kim. Sierra Grande will step out of league play this week when they travel to Hanover. This is a very important RPI game before moving back into league play next week. A game to note is Cotopaxi vs Mountain Valley this week. Winner keeps playoff hopes alive with the loser probably moving out of playoff contention.
Playoff Contenders: Branson/Kim, La Veta, Sierra Grande
