MileHigh Prep Report Girls Basketball Week 7 Rankings (Class 4A thru 1A)

We move deeper into January, and I feel this is when things really start to matter in terms of Districts, Regionals, and State.  I feel the basketball season has 4 parts.  Part 1 is before Christmas, Part 2 is after Christmas/League Play, Part 3 is the District Tournament/Regionals, and Part 4 is the State Tournament.  Also, this week look for an article by Kerry Sherman on 1A Boys and Girls basketball.

Class 4A

Notes: A few changes to the top 10 this week.  Lamar picked up a big win this week and moves into the #10 spot replacing Coal Ridge.  Lamar makes its first appearance in the top 10 this year. 

Class 3A

Notes: We have changes this week in Class 1A.  Platte Valley has yet to lose to a 3A team but lost to University and I felt a change was need at #1.  C.S Christian takes over at #1 they have wins over top 10 St. Mary’s, Ellicott and Lamar (4A).  Platte Valley falls to #2.  No new teams this week.

Notes: We have a new #1 for the second time this season.  Merino takes over as the #1 team and they have played a tough schedule.  Wiggins moves up to #2 and Akron holds the #3 spot.  Burlington falls to #5.  Sanford picked up a big win over Mancos this week and prove they need to stay in the top 10.
