Another week down and one week closer the the end of the year. Coaches should be finalizing the rosters, by putting kids where the team should beable to compete for regional and state titles.
As I mentioned in the last article I was gonna keep my eye on the the Mel Smith Invitational held by Florence high school. That Tournament never let’s you down. I kept track by watching trackwrestling. I kept an eye on brackets as well as watching the dashboard as matching were going on live. Like I said it’s hard to know if they were good matches because I wasn’t there. Here are the top teams and placers:
1st place was Eaton with 9 placers
2nd was Brush with 6 placers and 1 champion
3rd was Mullen with 5 placer and 4 Champions
4th was Alamosa with 4 placers and 1 champion
5th was Valley with 5 placers and 1 champion
6th was Centuari with 4 placer and 1 champion.
We saw 1vs2 ranking in the finals. It was at 175lbs, between Kaleb Valdez-Lemos of Mullen andEric Meastas of Centauri. We saw Valdez-Lemos winning 7-3.
This week the tournaments to watch will be the Fight at the Fork tournament held by North Fork high school. The Gene Gagliardi Invitational held by Trinadad.
Another big tournament that I want to mention is the Top of the Rockies Invitational held by Centaurus high school. Some small schools might be in attendance.
Good look again this weekend. Wrestle tough and remember one match at a time.
