Class 3A Softball Weekly Review and Preview

Another week of action has occurred in the 3A softball season and teams are making some movement and staking their claim already. This week we look at the top 16 teams in 3A according to the CHSAA Seeding Index.
D’Evelyn
The Jaguars continued their winning streak last week when the got the win over Arapahoe 25-11. D’Evelyn is now 3-0 overall on the season. The first league game of the season for the team is set to take place this week on 9/4 when the team goes on the road to face Bear Creek. The Jaguars will be looking to keep their winning streak intact and start league play off 1-0. Next week the team will kick off game at home on 9/8 against Green Mountain.
Leading the Jaguars so far this season on the stat board are Myla Seda with 3 home runs, 4 stolen bases, 9 runs, 7 hits, and 10 RBI, Hallie Book with 2 home runs and a 5.92 ERA, Macie Allen with 1 home run, 7 hits and 8 RBI, Claudia Harris with 4 stolen bases, Myla Vigil with 4 stolen bases, 9 runs, and 9 RBI, Lyla Nagy with 4 stolen bases and 8 runs, and Calista Hinestroza with 7 hits.
The Classical Academy
TCA is back on the winning side after beating Arapahoe 4-2 and Lewis-Palmer 21-9 to make their overall record this season 3-1. The Titans will be looking to continue their success and will end the week by hosting Widefield on 9/5. Then next week the team will start league play and will travel to Florence to take on the huskies on 9/8 and try to start league play off 1-0.
Stat leaders for the Titans are Ava Fluegge with 1 home run, a 5.65 ERA, 7 hits and 8 RBI, Ada Wilson with 3 stolen bases, a 5.25 ERA, 6 runs, and 7 hits, Taytum Kimbro with 3 stolen bases, 9 runs, 12 hits, and 9 RBI, Khloe Lutgen with 1 stolen base, Basil Murphy with a 4.50 ERA, Carina Passarelli with 5 runs, and Ashlyne Cramer with 6 RBI.
Montezuma-Cortez
The Panthers currently have kept their perfect record intact and are 6-0 overall so far this season. The last game for Montezuma-Cortez was a battle against Delta, who took the Panthers in extra innings, where Montezuma-Cortez was able to pull out the win 12-11 in 8 innings. This week, the team will have another challenge in keeping their perfect record together as they participate in tournament play, taking on Thompson Valley and Meeker on 9/4 and Niwot and Berthoud on 9/5.
Helping lead the team in their success so far this season are Ellisia Winter with 7 stolen bases 9 hits and 9 RBI, Madison Schuster with 5 stolen bases, Aubrey Taveira with 3 stolen bases, 9 runs, 7 hits, and 9 RBI, Jayden White with a 2.72 ERA, Annalisa Abeyta a 4.20 ERA, Raegan Veach with 14 runs and 7 hits, Neveah Benn with 9 runs, and Abbie Baker with 7 RBI.
Brush
Brush is currently 8-2 overall on the season and 1-0 in league play, and is holding onto the 1st place spot in the Patriot Plains league so far. The most recent win for the Beetdiggers was their first league game of the season that was against Weld Central 12-0. The team will be looking to maintain their winning streak and at to their current 5 game win streak next week when they host Platte Valley in a league game on 9/8. Leading the team on the stat board are Addy Neal with 1 home run, 5 stolen bases, and 10 runs, Gracie Martinez with 1 home run, 5 stolen bases, 8 runs, 12 hits and 7 RBI, Haedynn Epple with 1 home run, 11 hits and 8 RBI, Wyleigh Kimball with 4 stolen bases and 8 runs, Isabella Mesch with a 1.14 ERA, 13 hits, and 13 RBI, Emry Chard with a 3.19 ERA, and Elizabeth Peckham with a 5.25 ERA.
Strasburg
The Indians are 6-1 overall so far this season after beating The Academy 16-0 and putting themselves on a 6-game winning streak. Strasburg will be looking to continue their success and will play tournament play this weekend on 9/4, starting with Severance and then University. Next week, the team kick off league play and will host Weld Central on 9/8. Stat leaders for Strasburg are Phebe Johnson with 3 home runs, an 8.25 ERA, 13 runs, and 13 RBI, Wynne Winter with 2 home runs, 4 stolen bases13 runs, and 10 hits, Addi Kent with 2 home runs, 7 stolen bases, 15 runs, 15 hits, and 9 RBI, Calleygh Hougland with 9 stolen bases, Taylor Bequette with a 2.76 ERA, Macy Meyer with a 12.60 ERA, and Morgan Sharff with 10 hits and 11 RBI.
Lyons
The Lions’ perfect record remains intact so far this season at 7-0 after they beat Limon 15-1 and Douglas County 11-1. Lyons will be looking to make their record 8-0 to end this week when they host Platte Valley on 9/3. Then next week, the team will dive into league play and will host Berthoud on 9/8 and will be looking for a 9-0 overall record and a 1-0 league record. Helping keep the team on track, are stat leaders Dahlia Oviatt with 3 home runs, 6 stolen bases, 15 runs, 14 hits, and 16 RBI, Ava Vasquez with 2 home runs, 7 stolen bases, and 17 runs, Gretta Wynja with 2 home runs, 17 hits, and 14 RBI, Ella Martinez with 10 stolen bases, Emerson Riley with 17 runs, and Greta Hildebrand with 14 hits and 17 RBI.
University
The Bulldogs lost the 6 game win streak last week against Greeley West, where they fell 3-12. The team then also lost to Windsor 2-12 to give the team their second loss of the season. University will be looking to snap this losing streak and will look for a win on 9/3 when they host Palisade before they play in tournament play this weekend and take on Strasburg on 9/4 and Southeast Colorado, Elizabeth and Wray/Yuma on 9/5. Next week the team will have a tough opponent in Eaton on 9/8 in the teams first league game of the season. Stat leaders for University are Kenny Peconi with 3 home runs, 8 hits and 8 RBI, Kamzee Kern with 2 home runs, 8 runs, 10 hits and 9 RBI, Olivia Williams with 1 home run, Emma Zacheis with 5 stolen bases, Kenzie Wyatt with 3 stolen bases, 8 runs, 12 hits and 8 RBI, Lucia Libretti with 2 stolen bases and 8 runs, Aubrey Luera-Smith with a 1.56 ERA, Lily Marquez with a 6.00 ERA, and Hannah Ramseier with a 6.46 ERA.
Berthoud
Berthoud lost last week to Holy Family 4-12 but then was able to get a win over Northridge yesterday 6-0 to put the team 6-2 overall so far this season. This week, the team will be looking to add more wins to their record as they play in a tournament and will take on Poudre and Meeker on 9/4 and then Montezuma-Cortez and Roosevelt on 9/5. Next week, the Spartans will kick off league play and will go on the road to take on Lyons on 9/8. Leading the Spartans so far this season are Camryn Olivas with 1 home run, 11 runs, 16 hits, and 17 RBI, Alana Lukensow with 1 home run, 5 stolen bases, 13 runs, 12 hits, and 9 RBI, Gianna Gomes with 1 home run, Kiley Brinkman with 7 stolen bases, 13 runs, and 13 hits, Saray May-Lemonds with 3 stolen bases, Addi Kisselbach with a 0.91 ERA, Madi Giera with a 6.18 ERA, and Bailey Luth with 10 RBI.
Forge Christian
Forge Christian is 4-1 overall on the season and is on a 4-game winning streak after beating Yuma in a double header 18-3 and 21-7. Tomorrow the team will be looking to continue their winning streak and will play their first league game of the season at home against The Academy. To end the week, the Fury will play in tournament play and will take on Boise City and Lamar on 9/4 and Holyoke and Wray on 9/5. Leading the Fury stat board are Julianna Alfaro with 1 home run, a 4.58 ERA, 9 hits, and 7 RBI, Lauren Rivera with 4 stolen bases, 7 runs, and 8 hits, Maxine Rossi with 2 stolen bases,7 runs, and 6 RBI ,Vivian Stults with 2 stolen bases and 7 runs, and Honor Kuyper with 7 hits and 10 RBI.
Resurrection Christian
Resurrection Christian is 6-2 so far on the season after getting wins of Platte Valley, 14-2 and Valley, 7-2, last week. The Cougars will start league play next week and will host Wellington on 9/8 and will try to add another win to their overall record and start their league record off with a win. Stat leaders for the Cougars are Kylle Kramer with 1 home run, Taylor Francis with 5 stolen bases, 17 runs, 19 hits and 16 RBI, Portia Hattig with 4 stolen bases, 16 runs, and 15 hits, Hannah Nicholson with 3 stolen bases and 11 RBI, Jailah Hamilton with a 5.29 ERA, and Brynne Murawski with 16 runs, 13 hits and 14 RBI.
Cedaredge
The Bruins are currently 7-3 overall on the season, 2-0 in league play and are sitting 2nd in the Western Slope South league. During the last week of play, the team got a win over Durango 13-3 but fell to Montrose 0-11. Tomorrow, Cedaredge will host league opponent Delta and will be looking to add another win to their overall record and maintain their perfect league record. Next week, the team will host league opponent Gunnison on 9/8. Leading Cedaredge on the stat board are Meri Hollembeak with 5 home runs, 4 stolen bases, 15 runs, 18 hits, and 16 RBI, Tia Homedew with 2 home runs, a 2.82 ERA, 15 runs, and 15 RBI, Sunshine DeHerrera with 2 stolen bases, Kiera Stroh with 2 stolen bases and 14 runs, Kimbry Hebert with 16 hits and 11 RBI, and Mia Gallegos with 16 hits.
Rocky Ford
The Meloneers are currently 5-2 overall on the season and are on a 4 game winning streak after beating Gunnison 17-6, Montrose 13-5 and Sand Creek 5-4. Rocky Ford will be looking to add another win to their record and keep their win streak alive as they take on Mitchell on 9/3 to end the week. Next week, the team will host Lamar on 9/8. Leading the Meloneers stat board are Annesyiah Camacho with 6 stolen bases, 6 runs, and 7 hits, Kassidy Kurtz with 5 stolen bases and 8 runs, Kylia Gonzales with 4 stolen bases, Alysia Marquez with a 5.33 ERA and 5 RBI, Ava Chavez with 4 runs, Kyndal Lewis with 6 hits and 5 RBI, and Brilye Lovato with 6 hits and 4 RBI.
Valley
In the last week of play, Valley lost to Basalt 14-17, beat Eagle Valley 10-6, and then lost to Resurrection Christian 2-7. The Vikings are now 7-2 overall on the season and will be looking to add another win to their record. They will be hosting Limon on 9/5 and then next week, the team will start league play and will host Sterling on 9/8. Leading the Vikings stat board so far this season are Danica Flesner with 3 home runs, 9 stolen bases, a 2.33 ERA, 20 runs, 22 hits and 15 RBI, Adri O’Dell with 1 home run and 10 RBI, Ashlyn Blackwell with 1 home run and 11 runs, Aubree Montoya with 11 stolen bases, 14 runs, and 13 hits, RyAnn Litfin with 9 stolen bases and 12 hits, and Katherine Orona Aguilar with 9 stolen bases.
Delta
The Delta Panthers are currently 7-5 overall on the season with a 2-1 league record and are 3rd in the Western Slope South league. In the last week of play, the Panthers lost to Montrose 4-8, lost to Montezuma-Cortez in a close game on 11-12 in 8 innings, and then split with Durango, beating them 10-7 and then falling to them 14-19. This week, the team will be looking to add more wins to their overall and league record as they take on Cedaredge on 9/3 and Eagle Valley on 9/4. Delta stat leaders so far this season are Sophia Siennicki with 4 home runs, 17 runs, 12 hits, and 14 RBI, Shea Ryan with 1 home run, 14 runs, 12 hits and 11 RBI, Jazlyn Naranjo with 1 home run, 9 stolen bases, 16 hits, and 14 RBI, Brooklyn Carlquist with 11 stolen bases and 16 runs, Hiley Thomas with 7 stolen bases, Mariah Bellew with a 3.89 ERA, and Lily Gallegos with a 5.35 ERA.
Elizabeth
The Cardinals are 4-3-1 on the season after tying with Rocky Mountain 8-8, and then getting wins over Sterling 11-6, Fort Collins 12-2 and Arvada West 13-9. Elizabeth will be looking to continue finding success and add more wins to their record as they play in tournament play this week, taking on Windsor on 9/4 and then Palmer ridge and University on 9/5. Next week the team will host Sand Creek on 9/8. Stat leaders for the team areAllie Dey with 3 home runs, 4 stolen bases, 14 runs, 15 hits, and 13 RBI, Larissa Wesbrook with 3 stolen bases, 10 runs, and 12 RBI, Paizley Sovine with 2 stolen bases and 9 runs, Charli Kugler with a 6.33 ERA and 13 hits, and Grace Carlson with a 8.59 ERA, 12 hits and 8 RBI.
Lewis-Palmer
The Rangers are currently 5-4 on the season after, during the last week of play, the team lost to Falcon 0-16 and Fort Carson 9-10, got wins over Coronado 21-9 and Pueblo East 15-4, and then lost to TCA 9-21. Lewis-Palmer will be looking to add another win to their record tonight as they host their first league game of the season against Palmer Ridge. Next week, the team will go on the road to Canon City on 9/8. Leading the team on the stat board are Nicole with McClintock with 3 home runs, 13 runs, 17 hits, and 18 RBI, Tillie Miller with 2 home runs, an 11.35 ERA, Joella Streeter with 1 home run, Abby Schneider with 9 stolen bases, 14 runs, 17 hits and 12 RBI, Lucy Carroll with 5 stolen bases, Elle Adams with 5 stolen bases, 11 runs, and 13 hits, Leia Bitter with a 13.40 ERA, and Abby McClintock with 13 RBI.
