Class 2A Girls State Tournament Predictions
We are a few days from the State Tournament kicking off. I have decided to deem Tuesday as Prediction Tuesday. I will give my predictions for all 3 Classes boys and girls. Tomorrow we will have something special for all 3 classes boys and girls.
Remember I am not cheering against any teams! Good Luck to all 8 teams competing for a State Championship!
Class 2A Girls Regional Prediction Review
Class 2A girls was nearly seeded correctly and I had to many upsets. Three upsets did happen, but I only picked one of the three. I picked 4 of the State Qualifier teams correct. I missed #12 Heritage Christian, #13 Limon, #7 Rangely, and #6 Del Norte. Of the games I missed I knew they would all be close but I did miss them regardless.
Class 2A Girls State Tournament Predictions
Elite 8 Predictions
#1 Merino over #9 Wiggins
Round #3 between these two teams. The only advantage to Merino who is looking for their third win over them is they have not played since January 13th. Merino vs Wiggins in my opinion is the best opening round game of the tournament in Class 2A. This will be a great game! Wiggins does have the State Tournament experience over Merino. I will be at this game at 4:00pm and looking forward to watching this game.
#13 Limon over #12 Heritage Christian
Two double digit seeded teams but two teams who have been ranked in the top 10 this season so it’s not a surprise these two teams are here. This should be a good game and I am going with Limon who has state tournament experience and that will be the difference in this game.
#2 Sedgwick County over #7 Rangely
I did not pick Rangely to be here, but they were able to advance and defeat Akron by 7. Rangely will look to show this was not a fluke and look for another upset of a Lower Platte League team. Sedgwick County is playing the best basketball right now and their 10 point win over Wray showed that.
#3 Burlington over #6 Del Norte
Del Norte did a great job of playing their style and avoiding the upset from Simla. Del Norte will be tasked with another District 8 team and will look for their defense to carry the day. Burlington is another team playing really good basketball and I think have enough offensive weapons to get by Del Norte.
