Class 1A Baseball Regional Projections (4/16/2026)

Class 1A Baseball Regionals are done a bit different than the rest of the Classes. Class 1A still plays a district tournament with the district winner all qualifying for State. The district winners are seeded 1-5 with the top 4 district winner hosting regionals. If your district has more than 5 teams they automatically qualify 2 teams. This season District 2, 4, and 5 all automatically qualify 2 teams. The remaining 8 teams will be picked off the CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.

District Champions Predictions

District 1 Champion Prediction: Nucla (22)

Tradition is hard to beat and both Nucla and Dove Creek have that. The rest of the District is very weak this year so expect Nucla and Dove Creek to square off for the regional crown.

District 2 Champion Prediction: ECA (10)

District 2 Automatic Berth Prediction: Simla (12)

Evangel Christian looks to win the District Crown this season with Simla being the main threat. Of course don’t overlook Kiowa or Custer County as both will make a run for the District Title.

District 3 Champion Prediction: Flatirons Academy (1)

Flatirons Academy and Rocky Mountain Lutheran will play each other in the district finals.

District 4 Champion Prediction: Eads (3)

District 4 Automatic Berth: McClave (5)

This should be a competitive District tournament as 4 teams with possibly 5 look to snag the District Title and the other automatic berth. Eads will be the favorite heading into the tournament but McClave, Wiley, and Stratton will all challenge for the District Title.

District 5 Champion: Haxtun (2)

District 5 Automatic Berth: Akron (4)

The best district in Class 1A. 7 teams are all positioned to make a run for the Regional Tournament and the battle for the District Title will be a good one. Haxtun, Peetz, Prairie, Akron, Caliche, Merino, and Otis all should challenge for the crown.
