Class 2A Volleyball Preseason Preview and Review, Part 1
As the fall sports seasons start, we look at the 2A teams and see how each team did, who is returning to defend their spots or dethrone other teams, and when each team will take their first steps into the 2026 volleyball season. We have split our Volleyball Preview into two parts.
Black Forest League
Calhan
The Calhan Bulldogs finished the last season with an 11- 12 overall record, a 4-3 league record and 4th in the Black Forest league. Calhan was able to beat league opponents Fountain Valley, Peyton, Liberty Tree Academy and Monument Academy, but fell to Thomas MacLaren School, Simla, and Peyton. The Bulldogs will be looking to improve their league standings this season and will be looking to return stat leaders Savannah Stewart, who had 8 total blocks, 174 digs, 45 assists, 118 kills and 254 receptions, and Kenidee Stewart, who had 39 serving aces, 32 assists, 88 kills and 261 receptions. The Bulldogs season will kick off on 8/21 on the road against Kiowa.
Evangel Christian Academy
ECA ended their last season with a 20-6 overall record, a 5-1 league record, and ended 2nd in the Black Forest league. League opponents that the Eagles were able to beat last season were Kiowa, Hanover, Miami-Yoder, and Elbert, while they fell to Pikes Peak Christian for the league title. The team will be looking to repeat their success this season and will bringing back all of their stat leaders from last season who were Kate Hetzel who had 52 total blocks and 71 kills, Mia Castro who had 34 total blocks, 66 serving aces, 356 digs, 39 assists, 281 kills and 136 receptions, Alyssa Costain who had 21 total blocks, 84 serving aces, and 685 assists, Ellie Wagner who had 63 serving aces, 264 digs, 447 kills, and 294 receptions, Bailey Roberts who had 304 digs and 435 receptions, and Petyon Lynn who had 35 assists. The Eagles season will begin on 8/29 when they host Eads.
Liberty Tree Academy
The season for the Liberty Tree Academy Eagles will kick off on 8/20 against Pikes Peak Christian at home. The team will be looking to improve from their last season, where the Eagles ended 6-17 overall on the season with a 1-5 league record and a 6th place finish in the Black Forest league. Liberty Tree Academy lost all of their league games last season, with the exception of a win over Monument Academy. The team will be returning all of their stat leaders from last season who were Melody Pruitt who had 6 total blocks, 19 serving aces, 71 digs, 8 assists, 36 kills and 103 receptions, Maddy Seidl who had 4 total blocks and 31 kills, Lily King who had 3 total blocks, Bella Serna who had 21 serving aces, 62 digs, 10 assists, and 88 receptions, Brie Seidl with 39 digs, 17 serving aces, 15 kills and 92 receptions, and Tess Meyer who had 86 assists.
Miami-Yoder
The Buffalos are looking to improve from their 2025 season this year which ended for them at 6-15 overall, 1-7 in league play, and in 6th in the Black Forest league. Last year, Miami-Yoder beat league opponent Hanover but fell to TCSS, Elbert, Pikes Peak Christian, ECA, and Elbert. The team will be bringing back some of their stat leaders from last season to help lead the team this season. These players will be Mindy Quintana who had 18 total blocks, 51 serving aces, 239 digs, 67 kills and 381 receptions, Miranda Howard who had 53 serving aces and 114 assists, Joselyne Beltran who had 218 digs and 183 receptions, and Madison McKnight who had 8 assists and 49 kills. Miami-Yoder will start their season on the road to Cripple Creek-Victor on 8/22.
Peyton
The Panthers finished their last season 8-15 overall, 5-2 in league play and 2nd in the Black Forest league. Peyton was able to get league wins over Thomas MacLaren School, Monument Academy, Liberty Tree Academy, Fountain Valley, and Calhan, but fell to Simla and Calhan. Peyton will be returning some of their previous seasons’ stat leaders to lead the team this season including Faith Hadley who had 16 total blocks, Sheridan McArthur who had 12 total blocks and 72 kills, Cassidy Miller who had 48 serving aces, 307 assists, and 82 kills, Breanna Vandever who had 463 digs, 38 assists and 524 receptions, and Brynlee Rizzuto with 187 assists. This season will kick off for the panthers at home against Elbert on 8/25.
Thomas MacLaren School
Finishing last season 3rd in the Black Forest league, Thomas MacLaren School ended last season 14-10 overall and 3-2 in league play. The Highlanders were able to get these league wins over Liberty Tree Academy, Calhan, and Fountain Valley, but fell to Simla and Peyton. The team will be leaning on returning stat leaders to lead the team to success this season, which includes Peyton Mulder, who had 26 total blocks, 213 digs, 109 kills and 315 receptions, Jane Amnuul, who had 37 serving aces and 238 assists, and Hannah Templin who had 93 kills. This season for the Highlanders will kick off on 8/20 when they take on James Irwin.
CSML South League
Mitchell
The Marauders will be the only 2A team competing this season in the CSML South League. Last season, the team went 6-17 overall and 2-8 in the CSML North league, finishing 5th in the league. Mitchell last season beat Sierra twice in league play, but fell to Falcon, TCA, Elizabeth, and Sand Creek twice. Mitchell will be retuning some of last season stat leaders this year to try and find some new success this season. These players will be Isabella Wilkinson who had 5 total blocks, 32 serving aces, 109 digs, 88 kills and 256 receptions, Olivia Milas with 47 serving aves, 128 digs, 17 assists, and 341 receptions, Jessica Romero who had 27 serving aces, 76 kills, and 128 receptions, Yamileh Villa Vargos who had 76 digs and 378 assists, and Esperanza Martinez who had 29 assists. The season for the Marauders will begin on 8/31 when the team travels to Thomas MacLaren School.
Freelance
Campion Academy
Last season, the Cougars of Campion Academy went 2-9 overall on the season, getting wins over Nederland and Mount Pisgah Academy. This season, the team will be looking to improve their overall record and get more wins added to their record. Looking to return for the Cougars this season are stat leaders Taylin Weber who had 1 block and 14 kills, Courtney Cate who had 6 serving aces, 25 digs, 20 kills and 42 receptions, Natalie Bryant who had 5 serving aces and 21 assists, and Azusa Shirakuma who had 31 digs, and 49 receptions. The first game for the Cougars will be on 8/24 against Denver Jewish Day at home.
Ellicott
Ellicott will begin their season facing Lamar on the road on 8/25. The team will be looking to have a major improvement from last season where they went 1-20 overall, 1-11 in league play, and ended 12th in the Tri-Peaks league. The teams only win last season was against Atlas Preparatory School. The Thunderhawks will be returning most of their previous season’s stat leaders and will be looking to them to lead the team to more success this year. These players will be Emily Macias Moreno who had 25 total blocks and 4 serving aces, Marlyn Hermosillo, who had 23 total blocks and 13 kills, Temperance Bunten who had 21 total blocks and 5 serving aces, Danielle Manyik with 128 digs and 172 receptions, Alanah Perez with 50 digs and 65 assists, Kayla See who had 80 assists, Alencia Gallegos who had 7 kills and Gloria Smith who had 68 receptions.
Lotus School for Excellence
The Meteors ended their 2025 season with a 6-11 overall record and no league games played. Lotus was able to get wins over Cripple Creek-Victor, Atlas Preparatory, Liberty Tree Academy, and Campion Academy last season and will be looking to find some more success this season. Returning to the team for the 2026 season will be Inez Melouky, Zion Johnson, Karla Macias Escalante, Salma Khalif and Fernanda Yama Vidal.
Foothills League
Addenbrooke Classical Academy
The Addenbrooke Mustangs finished their previous season with a 10-13 overall record and finished 3rd in the Foothills league. The team beat league opponents AWCPA, Poudre Community, William Smith, Nederland, STEMSHR, Golden View, and Two Roads Charter at least one-time last season. The team will have a lot of seniors that they will be looking to replace this season but will have Senior Avah Tanner, who ended last season with 30 kills 14 serving aces, and 24 digs, to lead the team, alongside juniors Kyla Torrez and Sailor Politsch who ended last season with 7 and 4 kills, 4 and 1 serving aces, 49 and 15 digs, 0 and 19 assists, and 70 and 6 serves received respectively and sophomore Ellery Politsch who had 1 dig and 2 serves received. The Mustangs will kick off their 2026 season against Platte Canyon at home on 8/20.
Ascent Classical Academy
The Guardians ended their 2025 season with a 22-3 overall record, a 10-0 league record, and at the top of the Foothills league, beating all of their league opponents. The team went 1-1 in the playoffs, missing the State Tournament by falling to Sedgwick County to get there. The team has graduated all their top stat leaders from last season but will lean on returning player Annie Skagerberg, who had 41 kills, 14 aces, 3 solo blocks, 33 digs, 2 assists, and 16 serve receives last year. The 2026 season will kick off for the team on 8/25 when they travel to Lyons to start the year.
Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado
The Archers wrapped up their 2025 season with a 16-5 overall record, falling to opponents DECHS, Ascent Classical Academy, and LPRC. Opponents the team was able to beat were Poudre Community Academy, Union Colony Prep, Nederland, Two Roads Charter, TPCA, Vanguard Classical East, Life Academy, CAOLV, St. John Paul the Great, and DECHS. Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado enters the Foothills League this season and will be looking to make some noise against their league opponents.
Golden View Classical Academy
The Golden View Classical Sentinels ended their 2025 season with an 11-12 overall record, a 6-4 league record and in 4th in the Foothills league. Last season, the team lost to league opponents Ascent Classical. Loveland Classical, Nederland, and ACA, most of those games occurring in the earlier half of the season and was able to turn things around and get league wins over William Smith, Poudre Community Academy, AWCPA, Two Roads Charter, STEMSHR, and TPCA. The Sentinels will be looking to return some stat leaders to help the team find more success this season. These players will be Samantha Duren who had 8 total blocks, 53 serving aces, 98 assists, and 57 kills, Eva Acicella who had 4 total blocks, Jane Wheaton who had 54 serving aces, 94 digs, and 113 assists, Jocelyn Le who had 47 serving aces, 92 digs and 44 kills, Abigail Fresquez who had 21 assists and 75 receptions, and Autumn Ilges who had 75 receptions. GVCA will start their season off on the road who play Estes Park on 8/22.
Loveland Classical
The Lions will be kicking off their season with tournament play on 8/22 starting with The Pinnacle. The team will be looking to find some more success than they had last season, where they ended 12-13 overall, 9-1 in league play, and in 2nd in the Foothills league. Loveland Classical’s lone league loss came against Ascent Classical Academy, but the team was able to beat all other league opponents which was Two Roads, TPCA, GVCA, ACA, Poudre Community, William Smith, AWCPA, Nederland, and STEMSHR. Returning stat leaders for the team this season will be Natalie Ruppert who had 26 total blocks, 41 serving aces, 155 digs, and 113 kills, Tatum Haugo who had 10 total blocks, Lila Hilde who had 174 assists, and Sofia Winters who had 147 receptions.
Nederland
Nederland ended their previous season with a 6-14 overall record, a 3-7 in league play and ended 9th in the Foothills league. During league play, the Panthers were able to get wins over GVCA, Poudre Community, and William Smith, but lost to STEMSHR, AWCPA, TPCA, ACA, Ascent Classical, Loveland Classical and Two Roads Charter school. Returning stat leaders for Nederland will be Naima Bullings who last season had 4 total blocks, 96 digs, 84 assists, and 119 receptions, River LeMaster who had 3 total blocks, 153 digs, 124 kills and 213 receptions, Penny Bodnar who had 61 serving aces, 105 digs, 70 kills and 167 receptions, and Meko Eich who had 22 assists. Nederland will travel to Campion Academy on 8/20 to kick off the 2026 season where the team will be looking to find some more success than last year.
Sheridan
Sheridan will start their season off with a league matchup on 8/26 against Ascent Classical Academy on the road. Last season was a tough one for the Rams, ending the season with am 0-16 overall record, a 0-7 league record, and finishing 12th in the Frontier league. Returning for Rams to try and find more success for the team this season will be Mia Molina, who had 4 serving aces and 2 digs and Reanna Gallegos who had 2 digs and 13 kills last season.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy
The Timberwolves kick off their season on 8/22, starting off with tournament play. Last season the team ended their year with a 10-12 overall record, a 5-5 league record and in 7th in the Foothills league. League wins for TPCA were over William Smith, AWCPA, Nederland, ACA, and Poudre Community, while losses were against Loveland Classical, Two Roads Charter, STEMSHR, GVCA and Ascent Classical. Returning stat leaders for the team this season will be Cleo Baker who had 20 total blocks and 57 kills, Brooklin Stephens who had 13 total blocks, Sarah Warren who had 12 total blocks and 3 assists, Selma Nuesken who had 44 serving aces, 155 digs, 48 kills, and 172 receptions, Ivy Esch who had 38 serving aces, 129 assists, and 38 kills, Ari Esch who had 279 digs and 296 receptions, and Katie Fuller who had 73 assists.
Two Roads Charter School
The Falcons wrapped up their 2025 season with a 13-10 overall record, a 6-4 league record and in 5th in the Foothills league. Two Roads Charter was able to get league wins over William Smith, AWCPA, TPCA, Poudre Community Academy, ACA, and Nederland but fell to Loveland Classical, STEMSHR, GVCA, and Ascent Classical. The Falcons will be looking to continue finding success this season and will be returning most of their stat leaders including Kaiya Cronin who had 44 total blocks and 88 kills, Savanah Bromiel who had 31 total blocks, 72 serving aces, 12 assists, 265 kills and 119 receptions, Erica Vincent who had 19 total blocks, 65 serving aces, and 47 digs, Hannah Lehner who had 117 serving aces, 55 digs, 361 assists, and 109 kills, and Miranda Leatherman who had 82 receptions. The Falcon’s season will kick off on 8/21 where they will host Pomona.
Union Colony Prep
Union Colony Prep ended their previous season with a 6-13 overall record, a 2-10 league record and in 12th in the Mile High League. League wins for the team last season were over Dawson School and Gilpin County. Returning this season to help the team find some new success are Madisyn Jacks who had 57 total blocks and 46 kills, Stefanie Gonzalez who had 46 serving aces and 192 assists, Dulce Morales who had 229 digs and 253 receptions, and Kaitlin Escobar who had 38 kills. The Timberwolves will start the 2026 season off on 8/26 on the road against William Smith.
William Smith
Last season, William Smith ended the year with a 2-18 overall record, a 1-9 league record and in 10th in the Foothills league. The league win for the Eagles was against Poudre Community Academy. Returning this season to lead the team to more success will be Zaria Rogers who had 1 block, 5 serving aces, and 13 receptions, Marissa Avila who had 3 serving aces and 1 assist, Arlene Bonaparte who had 3 serving aces, 7 digs, 2 assists, 2 kills and 10 receptions, Chloe Avison who had 5 digs, Hope Barnes who had 4 digs, Ashley Herrera who had 3 assists, and Mariana Acuna who had 13 receptions. This season will start on 8/24 for the team who will face TPCA on the road.
Intermountain League
Centauri
The Falcons wrapped up their 2025 season with a 17-10 overall record, a 4-4 league record and in 3rd in the Intermountain league. League losses for Centauri last season were against Alamosa and Bayfield, while league wins were against Pagosa Springs and Montezuma-Cortez. The team will be looking to finish this season high in the league ranks and make a run in the state tournament. To make this goal, the team will be leaning on returning stat leaders Analynn Dwyer, who had 40 total blocks, Rylie McCarroll, who had 35 total blocks, Kenadie Wilfong, who had 33 serving aces, 242 digs, and 649 assists Kynlei Curtis, who had 32 serving aces and 233 kills, and Lauren Gallegos who had 149 receptions. The Falcons’ season will begin with a home game against Lamar on 8/22.
Lower Platte League
Akron
The Rams finished their last season 9-15 overall with a 2-6 league record and in 8th in the Lower Platte League. Last season in league play, Akron lost to Holyoke, Yuma, Wiggins, Wray, Sedgwick County, and Merino, but the team was able to beat Caliche and Haxtun. The Rams will be looking to improve their success this season and will be returning all of last years’ stat leaders, including Seniors Payton Marshall, who had 25 serving aces and 263 receptions, and Kashlee Randel, who had 24 serving aces, 391 digs, and 539 assists, Juniors Molly O’Neil, who had 81 total blocks and 202 kills, Madison Woods who has 277 digs, 91 assists, and 342 receptions, and Sophomores Kyle Grauer, who had 23 total blocks, Raya Fountain who had 15 total blocks, 27 serving aces, 124 kills and 245 receptions, and Kaydence Headden who had 259 digs and 211 kills. This season will start for the Rams at home on 8/25 against Briggsdale.
Holyoke
The Dragons had a successful previous season, going 21-7 overall on the season, 5-3 in league play, and ended 4th in the Lower Platte league. Holyoke had lost to league opponents Merino, Sedgwick County, and Wiggins, but got wins over Akron, Haxtun, Caliche, Wray, and Yuma. The team will bring back some stat leaders this season to help maintain the teams success. These players will be Raia Sprague who had 34 total blocks and 274 kills, Emy Goldenstein who had 25 serving aces, 86 assists, Aubrey Bieber who had 55 assists, and Reese Steggs who had 191 kills. The team will begin the season on 8/22 against Idalia at home.
Merino
The Rams ended the 2025 season with a 24-3 overall record, an 8-0 league record and finished 1st in the Lower Platte League. Merino was able to beat league opponents Holyoke, Wray, Yuma, Haxtun, Wiggins, Sedgwick County, Caliche, and Akron. Returning leaders for the Rams are Delany Piel who had 26 total blocks, 41 serving aces, 510 digs, 27 assists, 201 kills, and 425 receptions, and Riley Pope who had 834 assists. Merino’s season will begin on 8/25 when the team hosts Peetz to kick things off.
Sedgwick County
Sedgwick County ended the 2025 season as the State Runner-ups, ending the season with a 24-8 overall record, a 6-2 league record, 3rd in the Lower Platte league and falling to Simla in the State Championship game. The two league losses for the Cougars game against Wiggins and Merino while the league wins for the team were against Caliche, Yuma, Holyoke, Akron and Haxtun. The team will be looking to repeat their success this season and will be returning stat leaders Daryn Nein who had 73 total blocks, Piper Buettenback who had 71 total blocks and 192 kills, Ryen Carlson who had 46 serving aces, 404 digs, 468 assists, 208 kills and 251 receptions, and Addison Renquist who had 229 assists. The 2026 season will start for the Cougars on 8/22 where they will host Wray.
Wray
The Eagles ended the 2026 season 7-18 overall, 2-6 in league play, and 7th in the Lower Platte league. League losses for Wray were against Merino, Sedwick County, Holyoke, Yuma, Caliche, and Wiggins but was able to get wins over Haxtun and Akron. The team will be looking to improve their success and will be returning stat leaders Ansley DePue who had 27 total blocks, Brylee Meisner who had 21 total blocks, Grace Linman who had 22 serving aces and 168 assists, and Karissa Peterson who had 229 receptions. The season will begin on 8/20 for the Eagles when they host Lone star.
Yuma
Yuma will have their 2026 season start on 8/20 when they host Sterling. Last season, the Indians ended their season 13-15 overall, 3-5 in league play, and 6th in the Lower Platte league. League wins last year for Yuma were against Akron, Haxtun, and Wray, while their league losses were against Caliche, Merino, Wiggins, Sedgwick County, and Holyoke. Returning for Yuma this year will be Taryn Sheffield who had 40 total blocks, 46 serving aces, and 345 receptions, Aubrey Black who had 36 serving aces and 264 assists, Lindsey Hermosillo who had 307 digs, 158 kills, and 286 receptions, and Berkley Nighswonger who had 296 digs and 188 kills.
Mile High League
Clear Creek
The Golddiggers ended the 2025 season with an 8-12 overall record, a 4-8 league record, and they finished 9th in the Mile High league. League losses for Clear Creek were against Lyons, DCA, Front Range Christian, Heritage Christian, Highland, Estes Park, SkyView Academy, and Flatirons Academy while league wins were against Belleview Christian, Union Colony Prep, Gilpin County, and Dawson School. Returning for the Golddiggers this season will be stat leaders Katelyn Averitt who had 16 total blocks, and Shauna Moutray who had 106 digs and112 assists. The season will start for Clear Creek on 8/24 against Byers on the road.
Dawson School
Dawson School wrapped up their 2025 season with a 4-17 overall record, a 0-12 league record, and they ended 13th in the Mile High League. This season, the Mustangs will be looking to have a better season and will be looking to returning stat leaders to get them there. These returning stat leaders will be against Erin Ashby who had 20 total blocks, 22 serving aces, 100 assists, Cat DeHerrera who had 37 serving aces, 187 digs, 14 assists, and 307 receptions, Marlo Scherr who had 136 digs and 270 receptions, Gabby Green who had 156 assists, and Sora Payvar who had 65 kills. The season will kick off on 2026 on 8/20 when the team travels to Denver Jewish Day.
Dayspring Christian Academy
The Eagles will begin this season on 8/20 when the team will host Highland. Last season the Eagles ended the season 13-11 overall, 9-3 in league play and in 5th in the Mile High League. The league games won by the Eagles were against Heritage Christian, Front Range Christian, Clear Creek, Belleview Christian, SkyView Academy, Estes Park, Gilpin County, Union Colony Prep, and Dawson School, while the losses where against Lyons, Flatirons Academy, and Highland. Returning this season to help the team maintain their success will be Hadley Bonnell who had 36 serving aces, 199 digs, and 278 receptions, Addy Konzek who had 530 assists, Brynnli Bryson who had 47 assists, and Sophia O’Neill who had 30 assists.
Denver Academy
Denver Academy played one game last season which resulted in a win over Poudre Community Academy. This season will be a full season for the Mustangs, beginning on 9/1 against LSFE at home.
Estes Park
The Bobcats ended last season with a 12-13 overall record, a 6-6 league record and in 6th in the Mile High League. Estes Park beat league opponents Dawson School, Heritage Christian, Union Colony Prep, Clear Creek, Belleview Christian, and Gilpin County. This season, the team will be looking to get more wins than losses in league play. Returning this season to help the team do that will be Eva Carosello who had 33 total blocks, 35 serving aces, and 125 kills, Kylle McCown who had 22 total blocks and 14 assists and Olivia Boynton who had 116 kills. The season for the bobcats will kick off on 8/20 at home for Estes Park against Gilpin County.
Flatirons Academy
Last season the Bison went 24-2 overall, 10-2 in league play and ended 2nd in the Mile High League. Flatirons Academy lost to league opponents Lyons and Heritage Christian last season and will be looking to get a full league sweep this season. Returning on the roster this season to help the team get there are last seasons’ stat leaders Sydnie Mangel who had 55 total blocks, Lexi Richman who had 64 serving aces, 826 assists, and Claire Friedman who had 64 serving aces, 200 digs, 147 kills and 283 receptions. The 2026 season will kick off for Flatirons Academy on 8/20 against Wiggins.
Front Range Christian
The Falcons ended the 2025 season 8-14 overall with a 5-7 league record and 8th in the Mile High League. Front Range Christian was able to beat league opponents Estes Park, Clear Creek, Belleview Christian. Union Colony and Dawson School. This season, the team will be looking to beat more league opponents and move their way up the ranks. Helping them do this will be returning stat leaders Aubrey Deich who had 54 total blocks, 46 serving aces, 227 digs, 200 assists, and 130 kills, Sereyana Miller who had 41 total blocks, Lily Cameron who had 24 serving aces, 168 assists, and 155 kills, Morgan Battey who had 303 digs and 344 receptions, Madelina Limpede who had 54 kills and Olivia Lucci who had 141 receptions.
Gilpin County
Gilpin County wrapped up the previous season with a 7-16 overall record, a 4-8 league record and in 10th in the Mile High League. League wins for Eagles were over Skyview Academy, Front Range Christian, Dawson School, and Belleview Christian. The team will be looking to get more wins this season and move their way up the league ranks. Gilpin County will be returning stat leaders Cadi Willis who had 30 total blocks, Amelia Bushey who had 28 total blocks, 17 assists, and 99 kills, Jennifer Rodriguez-Jimenez who has 317 digs and 392 receptions. The Eagles will kick off their season on the road against Estes Park on 8/20.
Heritage Christian
The season for the Heritage Christian Eagles will begin on 8/20 against Windsor Charter Academy. The team will be looking to maintain their success from last year where the team went 18-7 overall, 9-3 in league play and ended 4th in the Mile High League. League wins for the team were over, Clear Creek, Union Colony Prep, Belleview Christian, Highland, SkyView Academy, Gilpin County, Dawson School. Front Range Christian, and Flatirons Academy. In order to maintain their previous season’s success, the team will be looking to their returning stat leaders to lead the way. These players will be Caleigh Smith who had 11 total blocks and 115 kills, and Annabelle Loucks who had 74 serving aces, 295 kills, and 233 receptions.
Highland
The Huskies wrapped up their 2025 season with a 17-8 overall record, a 9-3 league record, and in 3rd in the Mile High League. Highland competed well in league play and was able to get wins over SkyView Academy, Front Range Christian, Clear Creek, Dawson School, Belleview Christian, Estes Park, Union Colony Prep, Gilpin County and DCA. The team will be looking to repeat their success this season and will be looking to bring back most of their stat leaders from last year. These players will be Isabella Tiley, who had 46 total blocks and 143 kills, Madison Smith who had 38 total blocks and 94 kills, Austyn Bingley who had 15 total blocks and 3 receptions, Leah Varra who had 78 serving aces, 158 digs, 347 assists, and 78 kills, Annabelle Crider who had 44 serving aces, 305 digs, and 43 assists, Nikki Quinones who had 43 serving aces, Ryleigh Wares who had 147 digs and 2 receptions, and Sophia Martinez who had 1 reception. Highlands season will begin on 8/20 when the Huskies go on the road to take on DCA.
Lyons
Lyons will be looking to repeat the strong season they had last year, where they finished 22-3 overall, 12-0 in league play and 1st in the Mile High League. The Lions were able to beat all of their league opponents but unfortunately fell short in the postseason, going 1-1 and losing their last game of the season to Yuma. The team will be looking to make a longer playoff run this season and will be bringing back their stat leaders, Michaela Coleman, who had 76 total blocks and 264 kills, Carmen Dumbauld who had 27 total blocks, 57 serving aces,245 digs, and 692 assists, Poet MacKinnon who had 17 total blocks, Annabelle Hay who had 50 serving aces, 30 assists, 237 kills and 347 receptions, Gwen Gadbaw who had 269 digs and 415 receptions, and Audry Voss who had 222 digs, 24 assists, 196 kills and 321 receptions, to help get the job done. Lyons will have their first game at home on 8/20 against Forge Christian.
SkyView Academy
SkyView Academy ended the 2025 season with a 14-11 overall record, a 5-7 league record, and 7th in the Mile High League. During league play, the team was able to get wins over Union Colony Prep, Dawson School, Clear Creek, Estes Park, and Front Range Christian. The Hawks will be looking to improve their league standings this season and make a pushing into the playoffs. Returning to the team for the 2026 season will be last seasons’ stat leaders Evelyn Gilbert who had 66 total blocks and 142 kills, Ellie McLaighlin who had 23 total blocks, 71 serving aces, and 71 kills, Kaylyn Belkowski who had 35 serving aces, 153 digs and 157 receptions, Taylor Bales who had 333 digs, 24 assists, and 364 receptions, and Lyla Kostiuk who had 435 assists. The Hawks will kick off their season on 8/25 at home against Platte Canyon.
Patriot Plains League
Wiggins
The Tigers ended last season with a 22-9 overall record, a 7-1 league record and in 2nd in the Lower Platte League. During league play, Wiggins was able to beat Haxtun, Akron, Sedgwick County, Yuma, Caliche, Holyoke, and Wray, their lone loss coming against Merino. Wiggins will be looking to their returning players to help lead the team to another successful year. These players will be Tenleigh Lorenzini who had 72 total blocks and 206 kills, Kellie Vicchrilli who had 37 serving aces, 454 digs, 68 assists, and 527 receptions, Karsyn Kerr who had 37 serving aces, 302 digs, 216 kills, and 337 receptions, and Jaydin Busch who had 362 assists. The Tigers will start games on 8/20 o the road against Flatirons Academy.
Pioneer League
St. John Paul the Great
Last season was the inaugural year for the Mountaineers who went 5-1 overall in the season. The team was able to get wins over Beth Eden Baptist, CAOLV, Englewood, and Vanguard Classical East, while their lone loss was against ACANC. This season will be a full season for the Mountaineers, which will start on 8/25 on the road against Overland.
San Juan Basin League
Dolores
Dolores ended last season 1st in the San Juan Basin League with a 25-3 overall record and an 11-1 league record, only falling to league opponent Ignacio. This season the Bears will be looking to repeat their success with the help of the returning stat leaders Addyson Wyatt who had 51 total blocks and 97 kills, Akaia Edwards who had 39 total blocks, Madi Thornbrugh who had 22 total blocks, 45 serving aces, Kendall Chavez who had 88 serving aces, 345 digs, 65 assists, 303 kills, and 372 receptions, Aubree Wyatt who had 38 serving aces, 270 digs, 492 kills and 372 receptions, Layla Mitchell who had 358 digs and 478 receptions. The first game for Dolores will be a road game on 8/25 in Pagosa Springs.
Ignacio
The Bobcats finished 2025 with a 21-6 overall record, an 11-1 league record, their lone league loss coming against Dolores, and ended 2nd in the San Juan Basin League. In league play, Ignacio got wins over Mancos, Telluride, Norwood, Dolores, Mancos, Nucla, Ridgway, Ouray, and Dove Creek. The team will be looking to take that number one spot this season and will be looking to be lead by returning stat leaders Alleah Neil who had 85 total blocks and 193 kills, Kelly Sirios who had 44 total blocks, 80 serving aces, 392 digs, and 635 assists, Lainee Bradley who had 57 serving aces and 165 kills, Tarah Baker who had 319 digs, 78 assists, and 398 receptions, Kelly Sirios who had 392 digs and 635 assists, Maliyah Martinez who had 279 digs, 30 assists, and 268 receptions, and Reggi Gustafson who had 154 kills. The season will kick off on the road for the Bobcats on 8/26 as they travel to Del Norte.
Mancos
Mancos will be looking this season to start their season strong and improve on their 2025 record of 10-13 overall, 7-6 in league play and 5th place finish in the San Juan Basin League. Last season, the team was able to get league wins over Norwood, Ouray, Nucla, Dove Creek, and Ridgeway. Returning this season to help the team meet their goals are last season stat leaders Laney Palmer who had 18 total blocks, Tymbri Preistley who had 43 serving aces, 191 digs, and 521 assists, Bailey Beh who had 38 serving aces, 196 kills and 200 receptions, and Tinsley Aspromonte who had 119 kills. The Bluejays will begin their season on 8/20 at home where they will host Norwood.
Telluride
The Miners ended 2025 with a 16-8 overall record, an 8-4 league record, and in 3rd in the San Juan Basin League. The team was able to get league wins over Dove Creek, Ridgeway, Norwood, Mancos, Nucla and Ouray. This season, Telluride will be looking to finish with a higher league finish and make a run into the postseason. Returning stat leaders for the Miners will be Ella-Rose Aplin who had 42 total blocks and 177 kills, Tegan O’Dell who had 21 total blocks, Hazel Noel who had 17 total blocks, 34 serving aces, 158 digs, and 224 assists, and Ford Fenton who had 37 serving aces, 300 digs, 61 assists and 439 receptions. Telluride will kick off their season with a home game on 8/21 against Hayden.
