6-Man Football Playoff Projections Week 8

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Rankings. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Rankings to seed the playoffs. We will have two projections listed. First is who I think makes the playoffs and the second is if the season ended today.

6-Man Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think makes the playoffs and who wins the leagues. In 6-Man League champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Rankings. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Rankings. I am picking my 12 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. Expect changes week to week, making these projections/predictions so early. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

East Central: Idalia

North: Prairie

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots

Manzanola, Genoa-Hugo

I really think the playoff bubble for 6-Man Football currently is down to four or 5 teams. I think just Manzanola & Genoa-Hugo on the outside looking in could realistically challenge. We will look at teams ranked #13 thru #18.

#13 Flagler-Kiowa & Briggsdale. Flagler must win both of their final games to make sure they get into the playoffs. Flagler loss to Genoa-Hugo opened the door for Genoa-Hugo to get into the playoffs.

#14 Bethune-Prairie & Caliche. Bethune game vs Caliche in the final week could be big game if both teams are on the bubble like they are. Bethune dropping both would put them at the mercy of the teams behind them but their win over Genoa-Hugo was a big one.

#15 Mountain Valley-Caliche, Branson/Kim, Walsh. Mountain Valley has one of the tougher schedules to end the year. They will probably need to win one of their final games or could be in danger of being jumped by Genoa-Hugo or Manzanola. A win over Caliche probably locks them in.

#16 Caliche-Mountain Valley, Briggsdale, Bethune. Another team with a tough schedule to end the year. Caliche probably just needs one win in their final three games to avoid being jumped by the #17 & #18 teams.

#17 Manzanola-Walsh, Kiowa, La Veta. Manzanola getting the win over Cheraw opened the door for them to get into the playoffs. Manzanola needs to beat both Kiowa & La Veta but may need to also beat Walsh.

#18 Genoa-Hugo-Deer Trail & Hanover. Genoa-Hugo is going to need to win out to get into the playoffs. They do have two winnable games and their win over Flagler was huge for them to keep playoff hopes alive.

I will seed & select the bracket with the CHSAA Rankings. Remember this is still early and things will change. The league champions I selected are at the top with the at-large berths following.
