6-Man Playoff Predictions First Round Only

#1 Idalia over #16 Briggsdale

Idalia is the defending State Champs and has proven it all year playing a tough schedule and dominating every opponent.  Briggsdale had a big turnaround year and look to compete against the #1 team

#8 Wiley over #9 Caliche

One of the better matchups in the first round.  Wiley had a tough stretch of games in September falling to some of the top teams in 6-Man.  Wiley did end the year winning 3 straight games and will look to keep that rolling.  Caliche played a tough schedule in 6-Man facing #5, #7, #6, #3, and #2 teams in 6-Man.  Caliche at one point was the #16 seed but 4 straight wins to end the year moved them up to #8 and they hope to pull a big upset.

#4 Cheyenne Wells over #13 Bethune

Cheyenne Wells lost their final game of the season to Peetz 59-20 and they will look to improve after that loss.  Cheyenne Wells did win their league the week before defeating Granada 57-56.  Bethune reaches the playoffs for the first time in many years.  They will look to take their best shot at the #4 team.

#5 Granada over #12 Hanover

Granada rolled to a 52-0 win over Branson/Kim in their final game.  Granada will again face another team from the Southwest League in Hanover who on the league title.  Granada is playing very good football and look for them to keep that rolling.  Hanover is the biggest mystery team.  They lost to Weldon Valley early in the year but then rolled over Branson/Kim and Mountain Valley.  Hanover will look to keep Granada in check this week.

#2 Peetz over #15 Genoa-Hugo

Peetz finished the year 9-1 with their lone loss to Idalia.  Peetz won the North League title getting big wins over Fleming and Prairie.  Peetz will look to make a deep run this postseason and must not overlook any opponents.  Genoa-Hugo finished the year winning 4 of their last 5 games including key wins over Hanover and Flagler.

#7 Otis over #10 Walsh

Otis finished the year 6-3 with all three loses coming to top teams in Prairie, Idalia, and Peetz.  Otis is on a 3-game slide entering the playoffs and they hope to avoid the upset.  Walsh comes in at the #10 team.  Walsh has been without their star QB all season but managed 6 win including winning 3 of their last 5 games to make sure they got into the playoffs.  Walsh will have to play physical against Otis to snag the upset.

#3 Prairie over #14 Branson/Kim

Prairie had a breakout year this season winning their first 7 games including wins over Flagler, Briggsdale, Caliche, Fleming, and Otis.  Prairie will hope to get back on track after falling to Idalia this past weekend.  Branson/Kim ended the year with a 52-0 loss to Granada and will hope to bounce back from that loss.  Branson/Kim did get a big win over Mountain Valley two weeks ago to punch their ticket.

#6 Fleming over #11 Flagler

Fleming finished as the #6 seed and with a record of 7-3.  Fleming ended the year losing 2 of their last 3 games against #1 Idalia and #2 Peetz.  Fleming will hope to get back on track this week.  Flagler ended the year winning two straight games including a huge win over Briggsdale to end the year.  Flagler will look to play physical and upset Fleming.
