8-Man Football Playoff Predictions First Round and Full Bracket
First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 8-man bracket turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams. We will have a full preview of the first-round games posted tomorrow.

8-Man Playoff Predictions First Round Only
#1 McClave over #16 Hoehne
McClave comes in as one of the favorites to win the whole thing. They dominated all year, scoring over 470 points on the season. Hoehne is a league champion who got in when they won their league title last Thursday.
#8 Fowler over #9 Akron
A rematch from 9/11 when Fowler defeated Akron 46 to 28. I expect another great matchup between these two schools and expect a much closer matchup this time around. Both teams are coming off hard fought final games, and both are battle tested.
#4 Simla over #13 Las Animas
Simla comes into the matchup undefeated and probably feel robbed seeding wise dropping from #2 to #4. Neither team played the toughest schedule but Simla did pick up key wins over Akron and Mancos. Las Animas did not end the season on a super strong note falling to McClave and Fowler. Can they bounce back and knock off the #4 team?
#5 Hayden over #12 Crowley County
Hayden has been a top 7 most of the year and have proven it week-in and week-out. Hayden has key wins over Norwood, Vail Christian, Grand County UT, and Front Range Christian. Crowley County is another battle tested team and will look for the upset. Crowley County loses are all quality loses to Simla, Sanford, and Stratton.
#2 Sedgwick County over #15 Vail Christian
Sedgwick County won the Plains League title and have a lot of momentum heading into the state tournament. Sedgwick County has won 7 straight games and will look to challenge for the state title. Vail Christian finished the year 3rd in the Western Slope league, and they will hope to match the physicality of Sedgwick County.
#7 Mancos over #10 Stratton
In my opinion one of the best games of the First Round. Stratton vs Mancos has physical football written all over it. Who wins the line of scrimmage will win this game and who can be the most physical team. Both teams want to run the ball, and both teams look to their defense to rise up to the challenge. Mancos could be a bit rusty not playing since 10/16. Stratton on the other hand picked up big wins over Haxtun and Merino to end the year.
#3 West Grand over #14 Sanford
A rematch from 8/28 where West Grand won 48 to 6 over Sanford. This will be another physical matchup between two perennial playoff teams. West Grand dominated every opponent but one this year and that was a 38-36 win over #5 Hayden. Sanford finished the year 4-5 and played one of the toughest schedules in 8-Man. Sanford is battle tested but will have to match the physicality of West Grand.
#6 Norwood over #11 Front Range Christian
Norwood comes into the matchup winning a lot of tough matchups by single digits. Norwood lost to Hayden 38-30, defeated Mancos 24-22, defeated Dolores 22-19, and Sanford 28-24. That does scare me once in the playoffs but Norwood knows how to win close games. Front Range Christian dominated its league schedule with its two losses coming to Hayden and Vail Christian. Can FRC step up and pull an upset in the first round?
