Playoff Picture Boys Basketball Class 2A
The information to get this together was pulled from the RPI and latest league standings. I every hope to do this every Tuesday or Wednesday but for this week I am just trying to get one poster. I am using the league standing that I updated on Wednesday and the RPI I am using is straight from CHSAA as of Friday 1/27/2016.
Class 2A
Class 2A Reginal and State information goes as follows: Districts Determine own seeding criteria for district tournaments, Eight Districts each qualify three teams to two regions, Regionals will feature girl’s game on Thursday and the boys on Friday and conclude the regional championships/State qualifier games on Saturday.
East Regional (Districts 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 with 38 teams) will qualify five teams to state.
West Regional (Districts 1, 3, 5 with 23 teams) will qualify three teams to state.
Regionals will be seeded according to RPI, with district opponents avoided in the regional bracketing when possible. Seeds 11-15 can be adjusted to accommodate geography. Districts will jointly be responsible for the regional site, East Regional securing 2 neutral, central sites; the West Regional districts will secure one neutral, central site. The 8 state teams will be seeded by RPI, avoiding regional and, if possible, districts match-ups.
2017-2019 Regional Pairing

Quick Note:
I am going to have to double check the East Region to make sure that it’s correct. If the East Region is correct then we are looking at 3 teams from the same district getting byes in their respective pods. The west Region actually work out right now that three teams leading their league will end up with byes. Also because each district can only qualify 3 teams there are some notable teams as of now left out. Remember that all these situations are set up off of the league standing. They will have to finish in the top 3 in their district tournaments to make it to the Regional Tournaments. If this was the official brackets then Simla, Ellicott, John Mall, Center, and Sargent would all be left out of the tournaments and all of them are in the top 24 of the RPI. Teams that are rated outside the top 30 RPI is Hoehne, Burlington, Norwood, and South Park is at #42. As the season progresses I think we will see some of the high RPI teams move up. Also right before district I will post who I think we advance from the district tournaments and will predict the regional bracket winners then of course predict the state tournament.
