Class 3A                                                                    Last Week

1.     Resurrection Christian (14-0) 1(3 weeks)
2.     Colorado Springs Christian (13-2) 2
3.     Manitou Springs (13-1) 3
4.     Alamosa (12-1) 4
5.     Kent Denver (12-2) 5
6.     Sterling (12-2) 6
7.     DSST-Stapleton (12-3) 7
8.    Basalt (11-1) 9
9.     Manual (9-5) NR
10.   Machebeuf (12-2) NR
·         Others: Faith Christian, Lutheran, Jefferson Academy, Vanguard, La Junta, Strasburg, Rye, Weld Central, DSST-Green Valley, Coal Ridge

Dropped out: Faith Christian (8), DSST-Green Valley (10)

Notes: No movement in the top 7 even with Manitou Springs losing a very close game to Colorado Springs Christian. I could not move them behind Alamosa. Faith Christian drops out of the rankings with a loss to Jefferson Academy and Basalt moves up to #8. DSST-Green Valley also drops out of the rankings with their loss to Rye.   Manual and Machebeuf move into the top 10. Manual is a clear cut #9 team but Machebeuf at #10 not so much. Because of Machebeuf, Faith Christian, Lutheran, and Jefferson Academy all beating each other they are all very close to the #10 spot. I ranked Machebeuf because they didn’t lose a game this week whereas Faith, Lutheran, and Jefferson Academy all lost a game. The top 7 have pretty much just swapped spots but have all been very contestant. I am interested to see if Basalt can start holding down the #8 spot and same with Manual. Manual is a very interesting team to look at. They are 9-5 only have 2 losses to top 5 schools in 3A and the rest are in 5A or 4A. They could be a team to make some noise coming down the stretch of the season.

Class 2A                                                                     Last Week

1.     Highland (13-0) 1 (23 weeks)
2.     Del Norte (12-1)(10-3) 3
3.     Sedgwick County (13-1) 4
4.     Paonia (12-2) 2
5.   Akron (9-1) 6
6.     Peyton (12-1) 7
7.     Holyoke (10-3) 5
8.     Crowley County (12-2) 8
9.   Fowler (11-2) 9
10.  Meeker (9-4) NR
·         Others: Alexander Dawson, Haxtun, Byers, Ignacio, Dayspring Christian, Vail Mountain, Merino, Sanford, Hotchkiss, Hoehne

Dropped out: Alexander Dawson (10)

Notes: Some slight shuffeling around in the top 10 this week plus a new team. Paonia lost to Grand Valley (3A) last week and that will drop them from #2 to #4. Del Norte slides up to #2 and Sedgwick County moves up to #3. Holyoke lost to Merino so they move from #5 to #7.   Akron and Peyton both move up one spot to #5 and #6. I couldn’t justify moving Crowley County over Holyoke because of Custer County’s previous losses in the year. Alexander Dawson lost by 22 to Highland so they move out of the top ten. If they could have kept it close I would have left them. The new team to the rankings this week is Meeker. Meeker pulled out an OT win over Vail Mountain and are looking very good in the Western Slope league. Alexander Dawson falls to 11, Haxtun is at 12 and Byers who is getting hot here is at 13. 2A is about 18 teams deep right now. The end of the season will tell us a lot more about 2A.

Class 1A                                                                        Last Week

1.     Holly (14-0) 1 (7 weeks)
2.     Cheyenne Wells (11-0) 2
3.     Sierra Grande (11-1) 3
4.     Front Range Baptist (12-0) 4
5.     Rocky Mountain Lutheran (12-1) 5
6.     Flagler (11-3) 6
7.     Weldon Valley (11-1) 7
8.     Fleming (9-3) 8
9.     Peetz (10-3) 9
10.     Longmont Christian (9-2) NR
·         Others: Wiley, Kit Carson, Shining Mountain, Sangre De Cristo, Heritage Christian, Primero, Genoa-Hugo, Cotopaxi, Denver Jewish Day, Ouray

Dropped out: Wiley (10)

Notes: No movement in the top 9 all were winners or lost a very close game to a team ranked higher than them. Holly still holds on to the top spot and Cheyenne Wells is right on their tails. After that #3 thru #6 are quite a ways behind the top 2 teams. 3 thru 6 are in the second group of very good teams then after that 7 thru 9 are somewhat solid now but it seems that we have a new team in the 10 spot every week and that continues this week. Wiley lost to Lakin KS who is 5-8 and they drop out of the top 10. Longmont Christian moves into the 10th spot to see if they can hold the spot down.
