Playoff Picture Boys Basketball Class 1A
The information to get this together was pulled from the RPI and latest league standings. I every hope to do this every Tuesday or Wednesday. I am using the league standing from Maxpreps.com I pulled the information on Monday and the RPI I am using is straight from CHSAA as of Tuesday 2/7/2017
Class 1A
Eight Districts, each qualifying two or three (as noted) to three regionals
The #1 and #2 seeds from Districts 1 and 6 will be paired for 2016-2017 (in 2017-2018 it will be Districts 1 and 8) will be paired, while the #1, #2, #3 seeds from Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in 2017-2018) advance to a regional site. Regions 2s (4, 5, 8 2016-2017) and 3s (2, 3, 7), the nine qualify teams will be seeded by RPI, avoiding any previous district match-ups. In Region 1, District 1 and 6 #1s will play the other districts #2s. Regions 1 receives 2 state qualifiers, Regions 2 and 3 receive three state qualifiers each.

Each Region shall jointly determine it regional playoff site. Eight regional winners advance to the state tournament where they will be seeded by RPI, avoiding any previous regional or district match-ups, if possible

Quick Note
I believe this is how 1A is set up for the regional tournaments. The 9 qualifiers are seeded by RPI and will play for 3 berths to the state tournament. Very similar regional set up as the West Region in 2A. The top three seeds all have byes and play the winners of the first round games. Only three advance to the state tournament. The weakest District by far is District 7 who only have 1 team in the top 20 and the other two are outside the top 30. Of course just like 2A the District tournament will be huge! There are some districts that are 4 or 5 teams deep so finishing in the top 3 will be a battle. The 8 teams qualifying to state are: Sierra Grande, Sangre De Cristo, Flagler, Rocky Mountain Lutheran, Front Range Baptist, Holly, Cheyenne Wells, Kit Carson.
