1.     Bayfield (4-0) 1 (5 weeks)
2.     Kent Denver (4-0) 2
3.     The Classical Academy (4-0) 3
4.     Platte Valley (4-0) 5
5.     La Junta (3-1) 4
6.     Basalt (3-1) 6
7.     Faith Christian (3-1) 7
8.    Salida (4-0) 8
9.     Alamosa (2-1) 9
10.   Sterling (3-1) 10
·         Others: Machebeuf, Aspen, Elizabeth, Coal Ridge, Weld Central

Dropped out:

Notes: I know the rankings don’t really matter since the RPI has been released but to me it’s an important measure of the actually measure of how good teams are and not based on numbers.  With that said some swapping around in the Top 5 but other than that we have no new teams and no teams dropping out.  The swapping was La Junta moving down one spot to #5 with a loss to Kent Denver by 3 and Platte Valley moving up 1 spot with a very impressive blowout win over D’Evelyn.

Class 1A                                                                     Last Week

1.     Bennett (4-0) 1 (5 Weeks)
2.     Meeker (4-0) 2
3.     Strasburg (3-1) 4
4.     Centauri (5-0) 5
5.    Limon (3-1) 3
6.     Paonia (3-1) 6
7.     Platte Canyon (3-0) 7
8.     Peyton (3-1) NR
9.    Clear Creek (4-0) NR
10.  Crowley County (4-1) NR
·         Others: Burlington, Monte Vista, Cornerstone Christian, Grand Valley, Highland

Dropped Out: Monte Vista (10), Grand Valley (9), Wray (8)

Notes: Huge movement in the bottom half of the rankings and some slight movement in the top 5.  In the Top 5 Strasburg beat Limon by 2 and move up to #3.  Centauri with a perfect 5-0 start moves up to #4 and Limon slides two spots to #5.  I honestly feel like are Top 5 have the best chances for a state title at least right now.  Now 8 thru 10 was an eye opener and mainly 8 and 9.  Monte Vista who was at #10 played really well against Meeker and I debated on leaving them in the Top 10.  I watched some of the game film and Monte Vista gave fits to Meeker offense but still lost to they drop out and are at #12.  Wray lost to Cornerstone Christian and completely moves out of the Top 15 and Grand Valley lost to Aspen in a tight game.  They move out of the Top 10 but stay in the Top 15.  The new teams to the rankings are Peyton at 8, Clear Creek at 9, and Crowley County at 10.  Well see if we have more flux in the rankings after this week.

Class 8 man                                                           Last Week

1.     Sedgwick County (3-0) 1 (5 Weeks)
2.     Holly (3-0) 3
3.     West Grand (4-0) 4
4.     Fowler (3-0) 6
5.     Hoehne (3-1) 7
6.     Dayspring Christian (3-1) 2
7.     Haxtun (4-0) 8
8.     Merino (4-0) 10
9.     Soroco (3-1) NR
10.    Gilpin County (3-1) NR
·         Others: Sargent, Akron, Norwood, McClave, Caliche

Dropped Out: Norwood (5), McClave (9)

Notes: Big movement once again in the polls for the 4th straight week.  The lone person staying still is #1 Sedgwick County. Dayspring Christian was upset by Hoehne and the polls were once again changing in the Top 7 and also Norwood was upset by Sargent in a huge blowout win for Sargent.  Merino also got a nice Top Ten victory over McClave.  Norwood and McClave drop out of the rankings.  The new teams are Soroco at #9 and Gilpin County at #10.  I nearly ranked Sargent but if they keep winning it will be hard to keep them out.

Class 6 man                                                            Last Week

1.     Stratton/Liberty (4-0) 1 (5 Weeks)
2.     Peetz (3-0) 2
3.    Cheyenne Wells (4-0) 5
4.     Otis (4-0) 4
5.     Kit Carson (3-1) 5
6.     North Park (3-1) 6
7.     Cotopaxi (4-0) 7
8.     Prairie (4-0) 9
9.      Genoa-Hugo (2-2) 10
10.     Fleming (1-3) 8
·         Others:  Sierra Grande, La Veta, Arickaree/Woodlin, Hanover, Briggsdale

Dropped Out:

Notes: I feel more and more confidante in the Top 13 teams in the 6-Man ranks.  We shifted a few things in the Top 10 but for the second straight week the Top 10 didn’t change.  We have some huge games this week that could change the order or give a new team a chance in the Top 10.
