Class 2A RPI Rankings and Playoff Situation

Playoffs (Straight from Chsaanow.com): The Top 16 teams in the classification based on the final RPI rankings will be placed into the post-season bracket and the league champion also gets an automatic berth.  If a conference champion is not rankings in the top 16 based on RPI rankings they will replace the lowest ranked team that is not a conference champion in the top 16.

Seeding Criteria (once qualifiers are determined)

• The following criteria will be taken into consideration when seeding bracket, in no particular order: geography, RPI, common opponents, and head to head competition
• A conference champion in the top 16 of the final RPI rankings will be a top 8 seed and will host a first round game
• Aa conference champion no ranked in the top 16 of the final RPI rankings will be placed in the bracket but will not be guaranteed a top 8 seed and will not be guaranteed to host a first round game.
• Conference opponents will not be paired against one another in the first round.

Notes: One upset last week really shook things up.  Haxtun was upset by Akron and it changed everything.  If you are not over .600 I would not feel secure with a loss.  Running through the 8-Man numbers will be very interesting.  Also with the RPI comes people sitting outside the Top 16.  Springfield for instance can win the Southeast League and would steal a berth to the #16 team.  Springfield still must play McClave and a 3-way tie could be in order if Springfield loses. The League breakdown will dive much more into the Southeast League title.
