Top Returning Defense’s 8-man
I have decided with 8-Man and 6-Man to not do the offensive lineman. It’s very tough to pick the best returning offensive lineman. So I have decided to jump right into the top defenses in 8-Man. I have also decided one I am done with 6-Man to go back and do Top WR’s for all classes then jump into league by league breakdown!

| Sedgwick County | Their defense gave up just 120 points last year which was the best in 8-Man. Sedgwick County is losing their top tackler but return 4 of their top 5 plus had plenty of experience in games. Sedgwick County also returns their top 2 pass rushers from a year ago. Sedgwick County defense looks to be dominate once again. |
| Hollys HS | Their defense gave up 169 points last year which was 6th best in 8-Man. Holly loses their top tackler as well but return 5 of their top 6 tacklers plus depth. Holly also returns their leading pass rusher. Holly will be looking to make their defense a top 3 defense this year. |
| West Grand HS | Their defense gave up 122 points last year which was 2nd best in 8-Man. West Grand does lose their top 2 tacklers from last year but will be returning most of their defense behind those two. West Grand will have to have a new leader step up on defense. West Grand does return their top two pass rushers and look to have a solid defensive unit once again. |
| Merino HS | Their defense gave up 230 points last year which was 18th best in 8-Man. Merino will hope to improve their defense and jump into the top 10. Merino loses their top tackler but have plenty of experience coming back. Merino defense will be key to their success this year and how much can it improve from last year. |
| Fowler HS | Their defense gave up 163 points last year which was 4th best in 8-Man. It does look like Fowler is losing some size on their defense and will need some of the underclass man to step up. Fowler loses 3 of their top 5 tacklers and will have to replace some leaders on defense as well. |
| Hoehne HS | Their defense gave up 211 points last year which was 13 best in 8-Man. Hoehne is losing some key players from their defense last year. Hoehne will return 2 of their top 5 tacklers but have some younger kids that got experience last year. |
| Springfield HS | Their defense gave up 260 points last year which was 19th best in 8-Man. Springfield must improve their defense to at least the top 10 this year. Springfield does lose their top tackler from a year ago but return nearly their entire defense. Springfield success this year could rest on how much their defense improves. |
| Norwood HS | Their defense gave up 136 points last year which was 3rd best in 8-Man. Norwood will lose some depth and experience but do return 3 of their top 5 tacklers. Norwood will have to have some underclass man step up this year if they plan on keeping a top 5 defense. |
| Caliche HS | Their defense gave up 313 points last year which was 29th best in 8-Man. Caliche must improve their defense this year if they are hoping for a deeper run into the playoffs. Caliche does return some key experience including 4 of their top 5 tacklers and plenty of experience with their underclass man. |
| Akron HS | Their defense gave up 280 points last year which was 23rd best in 8-man. Akron had a tough year last year and are hoping to rebound. Akron does return 4 of their top 6 tacklers and some depth as well. Akron will need their defense to step up this year if they plan to improve on their 3-6 record. |
| Haxtun HS | Their defense gave up 220 points last year which was good for 16th best in 8-Man. Haxtun has a lot of experience coming back and should improve. Haxtun returns 4 of their top 5 tacklers. A top 10 defense this year is not out of question for Haxtun. |
| McClave HS | Their defense gave up 184 points last year which was 10th best in 8-Man. McClave did not post stat this year but are only losing 2 seniors. Their defense should have plenty of experience returning. |
| Rangely HS | Their defense gave up 291 points last year which was 24th best in 8-Man. Rangely loses just 2 seniors and their defense should all but improve this year. Rangely defense will completely return this year and will look improve. |
| South Park | Their defense gave up 165 points last year which was 5th best in 8-Man. South Park defense will have to lead the way again this year as they hope to make the playoffs. South Park does lose their top 2 tacklers but return some key experience on defense. |
| Simla HS | Their defense was the worst in 8-man last year but had a ton of new starters and were very young. Simla returns 6 of their top 8 tacklers. Simla defense should improve this year. If Simla defense can improve to at least a top 15 defense they could be in contention for the playoffs. |
