MileHigh Prep Report Preseason Rankings 6-Man

Note: I am just going to quickly give the rankings and a quick breakdown of what they are returning.  Later on, in August full league breakdown.

Class 6-Man

Rank Team Notes
#1 Stratton/Liberty Stratton/Liberty loses the player of the year from last year but return a ton of talent.  Stratton/Liberty will have one of the top defense from last year plus their leader at QB Tyson Lichty is back as well.  Stratton/Liberty came up just short last year, so they will have the motivation to try and finish the job.
#2 Kit Carson HS Kit Carson played a lot of underclass man last year and it will start to pay off this year and next year.  Kit Carson loses one of their key pieces on defense but return their top passer and rusher from last year.
#3 Otis HS Otis loses some key pieces on their defense but returns leaders on the offensive side of the ball.  Bryce Miracle will have to take over on both sides of the ball this year to help replace the seniors they are losing.  Otis offensively will be extremely tough to slow down.
#4 Fleming HS Fleming offensively returns a lot of experience and should help carry this year early on.  Fleming defensively does lose 3 of their top 6 tacklers but did play a lot of underclass man last year.  If Fleming can get their defense to move into the Top 5 watch out for this team.
#5 Peetz HS Peetz had a great run to the State Championship last year.  Peetz loses a lot of senior leadership including their QB.  Peetz does return Bryson Long on both sides of the ball and his leadership will be key to Peetz defending their state championship.
#6 Cheyenne Wells HS Cheyenne Wells had the 2nd best defense last year and lose some leadership from their defense.  Cheyenne Wells does return Quade Pelton who will have to continue to lead both the offense and defense.
#7 Prairie HS Prairie loses 3 solid seniors and their main offensive player.  Prairie does return a lot of talent on defense next year.  Prairie though will have to find an option on offense to take over, but Prairie will be very tough still thanks to their defense.
#8 Granada HS Granada moves from 8-Man to 6-Man and seeing how they adapt to the 6-man ranks will be very interesting.  Granada returns a lot of talent but seeing how they adapt to the 6-Man game is why they are ranked at #8 and not higher.
#9 Flagler/Hi Plains Flagler/Hi Plains had a slight rebuilding year last year after winning the state championship two years.  Flagler/Hi Plains played a lot of underclassman last year and should pay off this year.  Flagler/Hi Plains returns 4 of their top 6 tacklers and their defense will have to improve.
#10 Arickaree/Woodlin Arickaree/Woodlin didn’t post stats last year but loses just 2 seniors from their team.  Arickaree/Woodlin should improve on both sides of the ball this year.
#11 Briggsdale HS Briggsdale returns 4 of their top 6 tacklers on defense and a lot of experience as well.  Briggsdale on offense returns their QB and RB and should improve on both sides of the ball.  Briggsdale did qualify for the Playoffs last year and should return again.
#12 Idalia HS Idalia had a ton of underclassman play last year and defensively have their top 5 tacklers return.  Idalia offensively must improve from last year.  Idalia is in a very tough league but should improve this year.
#13 North Park HS North Park lost a solid group of seniors and replacing them on offense will be the key.  Defensively North Park does return 3 of their top 6 tacklers but success will be dependent on how well their offense can click.
#14 Mountain Valley HS Mountain Valley returns a lot of experience from last year, but can they take the next step is the key.  Mountain Valley returns 4 of their top 6 tacklers plus their QB and RB.  Mountain Valley though must improve from last year.
#15 Walsh HS Walsh struggled at times offensively last year and they must improve on offense this year.  Walsh returns both their QB and RB from last year but must improve from last year.  Defensively Walsh had the 11th best defense and return their top 5 of their top 6 tacklers.  If Walsh figures out their offense they could make some noise.
