Top Returning Defense’s 6-man

I have decided with 8-Man and 6-Man to not do the offensive lineman.  It’s very tough to pick the best returning offensive lineman.  So, I have decided to jump right into the top defenses in 6-Man.  I have also decided one to go back and do Top WR’s for all classes then jump into league by league breakdown!

High School Stats
Stratton/Liberty Their defense gave up 186 points last year which was 3rd best in 6-man.  Stratton/Liberty returns 4 of their top 5 tacklers including a pair of tacklers who both had over 115 tackles.  Stratton/Liberty also returns their main pass rushers.  Stratton/Liberty has a ton of experience coming back and could be the top defense in 6-man.
Prairie HS Their defense gave up 162 points last year which was the Best in 6-Man.  Prairie loses their top tackler but returns their next 3 tacklers plus plenty of experience.  Prairie does lose their top two pass rushers.  Prairie will have to find a leader on defense this year, but I see their defense returning to top form again this year.
Kit Carson HS Their defense gave up 207 points last year which was 4th best in 6-Man.  Kit Carson returns 4 of their top 5 tacklers including their leading tackler.  Kit Carson has all the tools to challenge for the Top defense in 6-Man this year.  Kit Carson played a lot of underclass man on defense last year and seeing how they develop this year will be key.
Cheyenne Wells HS Their defense gave up 181 points last year which was 2nd best in 6-Man.  Cheyenne Wells does lose 2 of their top 5 tacklers but return their leading tackler and pass rusher.  Cheyenne Wells has some holes to fill on defense, but I still expect them to sport a top 5 defense.
Fleming HS Their defense gave up 294 points last year which was 15th best in 6-Man.  Fleming played a brutal schedule last year, but that experience will help this year.  Fleming loses 3 of their top 5 tacklers but return experience from last year’s team.  Fleming will have holes to fill but I expect this defense to finish in the Top 8 this year.
Arickaree/Woodlin Their defense gave up 307 points last year which was 17th best in 6-Man.  Arickaree/Woodlin didn’t post stats from last year but they are only losing 2 seniors.  Arickaree/Woodlin will need some players to step up this year but I think a top 10 defense is not out of the question.
Walsh HS Their defense gave up 275 points last year which was 11th best in 6-man.  Walsh played a ton of underclass man last year and should pay off this year.  Walsh loses just 1 senior and return their top 3 tacklers.  Walsh must improve from last year but their defense will have a shot to move into the Top 8.
Otis HS Their defense gave up 261 points last year which was 8th best in 6-Man.  Otis is losing some key pieces to their defense losing 3 of their top 5 tacklers but return lots of experience behind those players.  Otis should retain a spot in the Top 8 defense by the end of the year.
Idalia HS Their defense gave up 371 points last year which was 24th best in 6-Man.  Idalia though returns their top 5 tacklers and their defense should improve from last year.  Idalia will have 1 senior to replace in their defense but I expect a major improvement on defense from Idalia.
Flagler/Hi Plains Their defense gave up 331 points last year which was 20th best in 6-Man.  Flagler/Hi Plains had a rebuilding year last year and their leading tackler was a Freshman.  Flagler/Hi Plains returns 4 of their top 6 tacklers and their defense should be much improved from last year.  Flagler/Hi Plains will be a team to watch for in 2018.
Granada HS Granada is so hard to rank on these lists.  They are moving from 8-Man down to 6-Man and will be very interesting to see how they adapt.  Granada does return 7 of their top 8 tacklers and in 8-Man would be considered a real threat on defense.  It will be very interesting to see how Granada plays in the 6-Man ranks.
Peetz HS Their defense gave up 242 points last year which was 7th best in 6-Man.  Peetz is your defending state champions but are losing a lot of talent from their defense.  Peetz is losing 5 of their top 6 tacklers but will have a leader in Bryson long returning to their team.  Peetz will need players to step up this year and a good coaching staff should have this defense playing well.
Mountain Valley HS Their defense gave up 263 points last year which was 10th best in 6-Man.  Mountain Valley returns 4 of their top 6 tacklers and some experience.  Mountain Valley will be the early favorite in their league and must improve their defense from last year again if they plan on winning their league.
Briggsdale HS Their defense gave up 356 points last year which was 23rd best in 6-Man.  Briggsdale loses 2 of their top 6 tacklers but have a ton of experience coming back.  Briggsdale defense should improve this year and will challenge for a playoff spot this year.
North Park Their defense gave up 317 points last year which was 19th best in 6-Man.  North Park does lose 3 of their top 6 tacklers but played a lot of underclass man last year.  North Park must find some leadership on defense.
Other Defenses to Watch For: Eads, Deer Trail, Cheraw, Elbert, Sierra Grande, Weldon Valley, Hanover
