Volleyball Opening Weekend Games
The regular season for volleyball kicked off Thursday night with 3 games. One of the 3 was from 4A and it was Bear Creek sweeping Palmer 3-0. The other game was Rocky Ford at Center which no score has been reported. The third and final game was Swink vs Hoehne. Swink ended up with the victory 3-1 over Hoehne winning 20-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22. For Friday 8/17 I see only 2 games and both in 4A or 5A. Saturday things pick back up in the smaller schools with Hoehne visiting Del Norte, Caprock Academy visiting Crested Butte, Florence traveling to Lamar, De Beque traveling to Ridgway, and Rye playing at Pueblo Central. Not a lot of action on the opening weekend but at least a small insight into the upcoming regular season.
I plan on doing weekly top ten breakdown for 3A, 2A, and 1A for Volleyball and should have my first one posted on Monday. I will not doing a Top 10 ranking this week with only a handful of games I will wait till August 27th to post another Top Ten Ranking for Volleyball.
