Opening Wrestling Season Remarks

This is the first article published by are new wrestling writer Carlos Valencia. He was previously The Head Coach at Center HS and Head Coach at Center Middle School. He has decided to help out with wrestling and knows a ton and I am excited to read his articles!

Well winter sports have graced us with their presence once again. Wrestling season is upon us. So many things have changed this year in classifications. Some teams have dropped to a lower classification. Buena Vista, Monte Vista, Centauri, as well as Trinidad have joined the 2A classification for instance.

The season opens up this week with dual and tournament over the weekend. Some tournament that could have strong showings are the Grizzly Invitational hosted by Fowler, Demon Duals hosted by Buena Vista, Akron Invitational, Rocky Ford Duals, as well as the Windsor Wizard Duals. There should be some good wrestling going on this weekend.

As the season goes on we will add regarding athletes the weight classes they will be in as well as the top wrestlers and team rankings. So keep a watch out to see what the 2018-2019 wrestling season has in store for us.
