MileHigh Prep Report Boys Basketball Week 6 Rankings
The first full week of games in 2019 are complete and the rankings are changing once again. This is where things really matter in 2019 and seeing who carries momentum over from 2018.
Class 3A Last Week
| 1. Sterling (9-0) | 1 (5 weeks) |
| 2. Vanguard (7-2) | 2 |
| 3. Manual (7-2) | 3 |
| 4. Kent Denver (9-0) | 4 |
| 5. Coal Ridge (10-1) | 5 |
| 6. Lutheran (7-2) | 7 |

| 10. Centauri (9-1) | NR |
| · Others: Colorado Springs Christian, Montezuma-Cortez, Faith Christian, Platte Valley, Alamosa, Delta, Jefferson Academy, Roaring Fork, St. Mary’s, Bayfield
Dropped out: Montezuma-Cortez (9) |
Notes: The Top 4 remain the same this week in Class 3A. After that things change. Coal Ridge was upset by Gunnison, but I didn’t feel any teams were ready to move into the Top 5 so Coal Ridge holds down the #5 spot. Lutheran and Resurrection Christian both move up 2 spots. Lamar is not getting much love in the CHSAA poll but a upset win over CSCS and losses to two Solid Alamosa and Centauri teams I think they deserve the #8 spot. Colorado Academy lost big to Manual and drops to #9. Centauri is new to the rankings after Montezuma-Cortez fell to Bayfield. |
Class 2A Last Week
| 1. Yuma (9-0) | 1 (9 weeks) |
| 2. Holly (12-0) | 2 |
| 3. Highland (8-1) | 3 |
| 4. Byers (7-2) | 4 |
| 5. Fowler (7-3) | 5 |
| 6. Simla (6-3) | 6 |

| 8. Limon (8-2) | 8 |
| 9. Sanford (5-4) | 9 |
| 10. Vail Christian (5-4) | NR |
| · Others: Sargent, Rocky Ford, Heritage Christian, Meeker, Peyton, Paonia, Sedgwick County, Dolores Huerta Prep, Soroco, Mancos,
Dropped out: Rocky Ford (10) |
Notes: No changes in the Top 9. Vail Christian joins the rankings this week after starting 3-0 in the western slope including 3 big wins over Plateau Valley, Rangely, and Meeker. Sargent, Rocky Ford, and Heritage Christian are all very close to being ranked. |
Class 1A Last Week
| 1. De Beque (10-0) | 2 |
| 2. Cornerstone Christian (10-0) | 1 |
| 3. Sangre De Cristo (6-1) | 3 |
| 4. Haxtun (8-2) | 5 |

| 6. Walsh (5-3) | 9 |
| 7. Briggsdale (8-2) | 8 |
| 8. Cheraw (9-2) | 7 |
| 9. Kit Carson (5-3) | 10 |
| 10. Springfield (6-3) | 4 |
| · Others: Front Range Baptist, Merino, Ouray, Kim/Branson, Pikes Peak Christian, Cotopaxi, Longmont Christian, Stratton/Liberty, Arickaree/Woodlin, McClave
Dropped out: none |
Notes: 1A continues to shuffle around after the Top 3. Haxtun moves up to #4 and Peetz up to #5. Walsh jumps up to #6 with a big win over Cheraw. Briggsdale also moves up one spot. Cheraw drops to #8. Kit Carson also moves up another spot to #9. Springfield barely holds on to the rankings after losing to Kim/Branson. I have a feeling things will continue to shift in Class 1A. |
