6-Man Football League Predictions and Playoff Predictions Week 5

6-Man Football League Predictions and Playoff Predictions

We are thru the first four weeks of the regular season.  Some league play has kicked off but also a few non-league games remain as well.  Should be a fun finish to the season.  I will be limiting my article length due to the longer breakdowns done by Kerry Sherman tomorrow.  Again, I am not cheering against any team.

My preseason predictions are located here: Preseason Predictions Click Here

League One

1. Fleming

2. Briggsdale

3. Prairie

4. North Park

5. Peetz

6. Weldon Valley

League One Continues to be one of the toughest Leagues in 6-Man Football.  Four playoff contenders have risen to the top.  Fleming, Briggsdale, Prairie, and North Park all look to be the main playoff contenders in League One.  League One has also kicked off league play with all 6 teams at least playing one league game.  Currently Fleming and Briggsdale sit atop the standings.  Fleming is my pick to win League One.  Briggsdale, Prairie, and North Park should challenge Fleming.  Winning against the bottom two teams in league will be critical to pushing for a playoff spot.  We will dive much more into the RPI next week.

Playoff Contenders: Fleming, Prairie, North Park, Briggsdale

League Two

1. Stratton

2. Arickaree

3. Genoa-Hugo

4. Otis

5. Idalia

6. Hi-Plains

7. Flagler

League play has also kicked off in League two with all teams playing at least 1 league game.  Stratton, Arickaree, Genoa-Hugo, Otis, and Idalia all look to play playoff berth contenders.  Stratton stays as my pick to win the league followed by Arickaree.  Both teams are still undefeated.  Stratton will face Hi-Plains this week and should move to 5-0.  Arickaree has a much bigger test against Genoa-Hugo this Saturday.  Genoa-Hugo and Otis are sitting in position for 3rd and 4th place with Otis already owning a win over Idalia.  Otis moves out of league play this week.  Idalia is my last playoff contender from this league.  Idalia is 0-4 and need probably 3 wins in their final 5 games to get into the playoffs.  Idalia will face Flagler this week and this is a must win.

Playoff Contenders: Stratton, Arickaree, Genoa-Hugo, Otis, Idalia

League Three

1. Deer Trail

2. Hanover

3. Bethune

4. Kiowa

5. Miami-Yoder

6. Manzanola

League Three looks to be the weakest League in 6-Man.  This could be a one berth league with only the league champion getting in.  Deer Trail and Hanover are my two main league title contenders.  Deer Trail is 4-0 and face Kiowa this week.  Hanover is 2-2 and will face Manzanola this week.  We will dive much more into who has a shot at the playoff next week with the RPI.

Playoff Contenders: Deer Trail, Hanover

League Four

1. Granada

2. Eads

3. Cheyenne Wells

4. Cheraw

5. Walsh

6. Kit Carson

League Four in my opinion is the toughest League in 6-Man.  League play has kicked off in league four.  Cheyenne Wells, Eads, and Granada were all victorious last week.  The biggest win was probably Cheyenne Wells defeating Cheraw.  I still believe 5 teams have a shot at the playoff and possibly a 6th depending on if Kit Carson could pull an upset.  Granada stays as my pick to win the league.  Granada defeated Walsh in a really high scoring game last week 102-74.  Eads holds onto the #2 spot.  Eads beat Kit Carson last week 68-32.  Cheyenne Wells moves into the #3 spot.  Cheyenne Wells has improved every week and I could easily see them finish in second as the season moves on.  Cheraw and Walsh are in 4th and 5th.  Cheraw will face Eads this week and is a very big game for Cheraw who is on a 3-game losing streak.  Walsh will face Kit Carson this week and is a much win for Walsh to stay in playoff contention.

Playoff Contenders: Granada, Eads, Cheraw, Cheyenne Wells, Walsh

League Five

1. Branson/Kim

2. La Veta

3. Sierra Grande

4. Cotopaxi

5. Mountain Valley

6. Primero

7. Sangre De Cristo

League Five is in full swing with all 7 teams playing at least 1 game with most playing at least 2.  Branson/Kim, La Veta, and Cotopaxi all sit undefeated in the league standings.  I do think 4 teams are in playoff contention now, but we will have to see what the RPI looks like again next week.  Only 4 teams are in action this week in League Five.  Mountain Valley travels to face Sierra Grande on Friday.  This is a must win for Sierra Grande who picked up a very big win over Hanover last week.  La Veta also hits the road for a non-league game against Otis.  This will be a big measuring stick game to see how much La Veta has improved.  The final game is a league game between undefeated Cotopaxi and Branson/Kim.  This game is huge to figuring out the league order as we head into the final half of the season.  Cotopaxi is still on the bubble in my eyes for playoff contention and an upset would shoot them into the top of the league.  Branson/Kim with a win would have wins over Sierra Grand and Cotopaxi and would have just La Veta in their way of a league crown.

Playoff Contenders: Branson/Kim, La Veta, Sierra Grande, Cotopaxi
