Class 3A Football Playoff Predictions Quarterfinals and Full Bracket
First, this is just my opinion. I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 6-man bracket turns out. Second, Good Luck to all teams! I do not cheer against any teams.
Class 3A Playoff Predictions Quarterfinals Only
#1 Roosevelt over #9 Evergreen
Roosevelt cruised into the Quarterfinals blasting Discovery Canyon 41-0. Roosevelt will be tested more this week by a balanced offensive attack and a QB who has been on fire all season. Roosevelt will look to their offense to control the tempo and look for their defense to step up against the pass. Evergreen moved into the Quarterfinals with a 16-13 win over Thompson Valley. This was a defensive slug fest and key stop made by Evergreen defense is why they won this game. Evergreen will need their defense to step up this week against but look for their offense to have a big game if they plan on the upset.
#5 Green Mountain over #13 Palisade
Green Mountain continued their dominate play this season by defeating Resurrection Christian 58-0. Green Mountain now turns their attention to a very physical team in Palisade. Green Mountain will need to play physical defense and look for their offense to step up again this week. Palisade was able to pull the upset last week defeating #4 Northridge 14-7. Palisade physical defense was the difference last week and they will look to do that again this week. Palisade might be playing their best football and that is always dangerous in the playoffs.
#2 Durango over #10 George Washington
Durango cruised into the Quarterfinals with a 42-13 win over Harrison. Durango had a big third Quarter to put Harrison away. Durango will face a much more difficult challenge this week and their defense must play physical to find success. Durango has not been challenged much this season so if this turns into a close game, I am interested to see how it turns out. George Washington moved into the Quarterfinals with a 38-24 win over Holy Family. Turnovers proved to be the difference in that game. Also GW had a great day on offense with over 450 yards of total offense. GW will play a more physical defense this week and look for another close game with Durango.
#3 Lutheran over #11 Frederick
Lutheran moved into the Quarterfinals with a 49-6 win over Pueblo East. Lutheran had a huge defensive day racking up over 450 yards of total offense. Defensively Lutheran found a way to limit a good offensive team and this week they face a much more run heavy team. Frederick moved into the Quarterfinals with a 41-21 win over Summit. Frederick used a run heavy attack to push by Summit. Defensively Frederick limited a pass heavy team and forced multiple turnovers to secure the upset. This week they play a more balanced offense but look for their physical play to be the difference in this game if they plan on upsetting another team.
