
Class 2A Volleyball Season Preview by Tayler Rocha
The 2023 is about to kick off with games starting August 17th. We have decided to run through the leagues for Class 2A and give a quick preview of the season. Your defending Class 2A State Champions are Sedgwick County and they will be looking to repeat as champions. Good Luck to all teams this season!

Black Forest League
The Black Forest League has enough teams that the winner of the league will automatically qualify for Regionals.
Calhan
Calhan went 9-15 last season, and they had a 4-1 record in league. Calhan was the Black Forest League Champions and received the automatic berth into regionals. Calhan at regionals went 0-2 but will be looking to build from last season success. Calhan returns their top 3 hitters from last season in Kailey Peterson (64 Kills), Ciara Monger (59 kills), and Haley Gerhart (56 kills). Calhan also returns their top setter in Kailey Peterson (46 assists), and libero in Katelyn Lindgren (305 digs).
Colorado Springs School
Colorado Springs School went 10-11 with a 3-2 league record. They finished 4th in their league. Colorado Springs School graduated their top hitters, but are returning their outside hitter Paige Heck (55 Kills) and their middle hitter, Adhista Eadala (20 blocks).
Dolores Huerta
Dolores Huerta had a 1-22 record last year, going 0-5 in league play, finishing 6th in the Black Forest league. They lose most of their top players but are looking to grow and improve on their record this year. Returning outside hitter Jaiden Maes who had 6 blocks and 48 digs last year.
Fountain Valley
Fountain Valley completed the season with a 13-9 record and finished 3rd in the league with a 3-2 league record. Fountain Valley has returning stat leader, Phoebe Bain, who had 87 blocks last year. The team is hoping to expand their success this week and make a post-season run.
Thomas MacLaren
The Highlanders completed their 22-23 season 7-15 overall and went 1-3 during league play. This team has a lot of development that will take place this year as the returning players, including Rose Ambuul (23 digs) and Katjaana Malott Uptergrove (15 kills), get more experience under their belt.
Peyton
Peyton went 11-12 overall on the season and had a 4-1 league record. Despite the 2nd place finish in the Black Forest League, they did not make the playoffs. The Panthers will be looking to change that this season with their returning players Sammie Nickell (MH – 131 total blocks), Savannah Kelley (MH – 75 total blocks, 80 kills), Tahiyanna McFall (L-449 digs), and Abbie Nickell (96 kills).
Confluence
The Confluence League is a mixed 2A & 3A league. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Addenbrooke Classical
Addenbrooke Classical had a record of 16-9 and went 9-0 in the confluence league, finishing 1st. Addenbrooke Classical went 0-2 in regionals last year, and are looking to continue and build their success. Returning is their top hitter, Alia Lanzen (136 kills)
Lotus School
Lotus School finished the season with a 0-23 record and went 0-10 to finish 10th in league. Lotus is looking for a lot of growth seen this season with only 4 seniors on the previous seasons roster, allowing for a lot of development from the returning roster.
Metro
The Metro League is a mixed 2A & 3A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Manual
Manual Thunderbolts finished 11th in the Metro League last season, going 0-10 in league play and going 3-20 overall. They will be looking to improve their success this season and bring back hitters Shayla Collins (40 kills 29 digs) and Keyla Meza-Jimenez (36 kills).
Foothills League
The Foothills League is a mixed 1A, 2A, and 3A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Golden View Classical
Golden View Classical Academy finished the season 6-3 during league play, finishing 3rd in the Foothills League and went 10-11 overall on the 22-23 season. The Sentinels are returning middle blocker, Reese Urbas, who ended last season with 39 total blocks and 29 kills and setter Guilia DeMin who had 11 total blocks and 17 digs.
Nederland
The Nederland Eagles took 5th with a 3-5 league record in the Foothills League and had an overall record of 7-12. They will be looking to continue their success and will have several players returning, including Natalia Garcia-Upczak (MB – 64 Total blocks, 38 kills), Lauren Schrader (RS – 22 total blocks), Echo Siglin (L- 79 digs), Kendall Zotti (OH – 60 digs) and Mary Jeanne Jarril (56 digs, 43 kills).
Poudre Community Academy
The Warriors went 2-21 on the previous season and finished 7th in the Foothills League with a 0-9 record. They will be looking to improve their season this year, and have a good start in development, losing only one senior from last year. Returning top player include Joslyn Schaffer (20 total blocks), Amber Vint (20 total blocks, 25 digs, 22kills) Sarahi Conejo (21 digs, 8 kills) and Alana Salas (16 kills).
Twin Peaks Charter
Twin Peaks finished their season 8-11 last year and took 4th in the Foothills league with a 3-5 record. The Timberwolves did not make the playoffs, and graduated most of their top players, but will have others to step up including last seasons stat leader, Ella Schauer (S -71digs, 4 total blocks).
Vanguard Classical
Vanguard Classical went 2-14 last season, with a 1-6 league record and 6th in the Foothills League. The Hawks will be returning a large portion of their roster and will be looking to develop the team and expand their success this season.
Frontier League
The Frontier League is a mixed 2A & 3A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Lake County
Lake County went 19-6 on the season and finished 3rd in the Frontier League with a 12-2 league record. The Panthers continued onto regionals where they went 0-2 to end the season. Lake County is returning a lot of their previous seasons’ roster including middle blocker Jaycee Windorski (48 total blocks, 194 kills), setter, Maggie Roeder (5 total blocks), and hitters, Azalea Tapia (153 digs) and Kelsea Roeder (123 digs, 144 kills).
Platte Canyon
Platte Canyon finished their previous season 7th in league with a 7-7 league record and a 7-12 overall record. The Huskies will be returning many players including Jordan Poniatowski (S/MH – 51 total blocks, 108 kills), Shelby Hatz (Oh/MH – 24 total blocks, 82 kills), Ily Hardey(OH/MH – 23 total blocks, 121 kills), Hayden Lane (OH/RS/DS – 88 digs), Sam Wagner (S – 75 digs),
Lower Platte League
The Lower Platte League is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Holyoke
The Dragons finished the 22-23 season 14-11 overall, going 5-3 during league play and 1-1 during their regional run. Holyoke is returning several of their last seasons’ players, including hitters Anessa Colglazier (51 total blocks and 148 kills) and Audrey Talavera (619 digs and 211 kills).
Sedgwick County
The Cougars were the 2022 season State Champions. Going 26-2 on the season, they took only 3rd place in the Lower Platte League with a 6-2 record. Sedgwick County went on a 12 game win streak at the end of the season to go 6-0 in playoffs, and beat Fowler for the title. Sedgewick County was a younger team and will be looking to continue their success and remain on top with returning players, including; Abigail Dille (OH – 82 total blocks, 243 kills), Keyana Ehnes (DS – 55 total blocks), Avery Goddard (L – 287 digs), and Lainee Nein (S/OH – 261 digs, 235 kills)
Wiggins
The Wiggins Tigers were the Lower Platte League Champions last season, going 8-0 in league play and had an overall record or 24-5. Wiggins won their regional advancing to the State Tournament. Wiggins in the state tournament went 2-2 reaching the Semifinals falling to the eventual State Champions. They will be looking to continue their success this season and are brining back a lot of their top players. These players include: Taelynn Epple (MH/RS) who had 84 total blocks last season, Riley Hunt (RS/MH/OH) who had 163 kills, 61 total blocks and 278 digs, Payton Malone (DS/RS) who had 38 total blocks, Kennedy Kerr (S/OH/RS) who had 255 digs, and Tyleigh Fehske (OH/RS/MB) who had 381 kills.
Wray
Wray finished 8th in the league with a 1-7 record and a 6-17 overall league. Wray will be looking to develop their team with a lot of their roster returning this season including Dori Saffer (S/RS – 19 total blocks, 189 digs, 76 kills), Sidney Freeman (OH/MH – 18 total blocks, 151 kills), Kaitlyn Kramer (MH – 12 total blocks), Sydnee Cheek (217 digs,112 kills), and Katie Harms (S/RS – 148 digs).
Yuma
Yuma went 12-13 on the season last year and finished 6th in the league with a 3-5 league record. They went onto regionals where they finished 1-1. Yuma will be looking this year to make a deeper playoff run and will be returning Caddis Robinson (270 kills, 62 total blocks, 299 digs), Jailyn Mekelburg (29 total blocks, 198 kills), Emma Rayl (285 digs) and Alina Moran (91 kills).
Mile High League
The Mile High League is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Machebeuf
Bishop Machebeuf ended last years season 9-14 and finished 6th in the Mile High league with a 5-6 record. Machebeuf will be looking to improve their record with the help of returning MB/OH, Katie Nichols who had 88 kills last year.
Clear Creek
The Clear Creek volleyball team went 6-15 last year, and 2-9 in league play, finishing 10th in the Mile High League. Trinity Cade, OH/DS (190 digs, 94 Kills) and Indi Crawford (5 TB) will be returning to help the team expand upon their success.
Dawson School
Dawson School went 9-12 last season with a 3-8 league record, finishing 9th in the Mile High League. Returning for the Mustangs is Grace Lacek (MH, S) who had 47 totals blocks last year and 66 kills, Chloe Sebek (S, DS) who had 118 digs, and Reece Giffels (MH) who had 32 Kills.
Dayspring Christian
The Mile High League champions, Dayspring Christian finished 11-0 in league play, with an overall record of 18-10. They also won their regional going 2-0 and advancing to the State Tournament where they went 1-2. Looking to continue their success, the team returns Tracy Downs (MH, OH, RS) who completed last year with 28 total blocks, 211 digs, and 84 kills, and Chloe Flores (RS, S) who had 22 total blocks.
Denver Christian
Last season, Denver Christian finished 2nd the Mile High League, going 10-1 in league play and 19-8 overall. They won their region going 2-0 and advancing to the State Tournament going 1-2. Denver Christian is looking to continue their success with returning players Emma Krajewski, who had 20 blocks last season, and libero, Erika Middel, who had 263 digs for the season.
Front Range Christian
Front Range Christian went 17-8 on the 22-23 season and 8-3 during league play. They finished 4th in the Mile High League and went 1-1 during regionals. The Falcons are hoping to extend their playoff run this season with returning players Skyla Anglada (MB, OH) who had 96 total blocks and 155 kills last season, Eadlin Hoff (OH) who had 39 total blocks and 154 kills, Allie Howard (OH, L) who had 275 digs and 171 kills, and Hannah Kayfauver (OH, DS, L) who had 211 digs.
Gilpin County
Gilpin County finished the 22-23 season 18-7 for the year, 9-2 for league, and 1-1 during the playoffs. The Eagles finished 3rd in the Mile High League and are hoping to continue their success for the 23-24 season. Last season was a senior heavy roster, so the team will be looking for emerging stat leaders, including last years’ Jiselle Osteboe, who was a stat leader last year with 40 total blocks for her team.
Heritage Christian
Heritage Christian, with a league record of 6-5, and overall record of 13-12, finished 5th in the Mile High League during the 22-23 season. They continued onto regionals where they went 0-2 to finish their season. The Eagles are working to keep their name up in the league rank with the help of opposite hitter and setter, Kristin Osborne, who had 7 total blocks and outside hitter, Kayla Cuckler who had 122 kills last season.
Highland
Highland went 8-15 for the 22-23 season and went 4-8 for league play, finish 8th in the Mile High League. The Huskies are looking to improve from last season, returning a large portion of last season’s roster, including libero/setter, Gabrield Bautista, who had 170 digs last season.
Lyons
The Lyons Lions finished the previous season 9-13 overall. They finished 7th in league with a 5-6 record. The Lions will be working to improve their league record and will have the help from returning players Marley Chase (MB – 9 total blocks), Scarlett Voss (S/OPP – 6 total blocks), Sienna Reed (DS/OH – 114 digs, 52 kills), and Gen Newell (S/OPP – 84 digs, 40 kills)
Union Colony Prep
The Timberwolves finished 11th in the Mile High League with a 2-9 league record and went 5-16 overall. They did not make the playoffs, but Union Colony will be looking to improve their record this season with the help of returning player Nadene Chacon who had 201 digs last season.

Tri-Peaks League
The Tri-Peaks League is a mixed 2A & 3A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Atlas Prep
Atlas Prep went 1-17 last year with a 0-12 record in league play, giving them 13th place in the Tri-peaks league. They will be looking to improve this year and find some consistent success.
Banning Lewis
Banning Lewis had an overall record of 6-15 in the 22-23 season, and finished 12th in the Tri-Peaks league, going 2-10. The team is looking to improve their success with their returning players; Makayla Piano (31 TB) and Kaylee Gentsch who finished last season with 163 digs.
Ellicott
Ellicott went 9-12 during last season, and 2-10 for league play, finishing 11th in the Tri-Peaks league. They did not make the playoffs last year, but are hoping to change their success after losing their stat leaders and 6 seniors.
St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s finshed 5th in the Tri-Peaks League, going 8-4 in league play. The Pirates made it to regionals going 2-0 then during the State Tournament went 3-2 for a 22-8 overall record. They will be looking to grow and expand their success. St. Mary’s will be returning on of their top hitters Margo Salveson (19 total blocks, 128 kills).
San Juan League
The San Juan League is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Dolores
Dolores went 7-13 last season and finished 6th in their league with a 4-7 league record. The bears did not make the playoffs last year, but are hoping to change their success with the help of returning players Mikayla Puett (MH – 16 total blocks), Kayla Tallmadge (OH – 6 total blocks) and Keely Clark (DS – 92 digs)
Ignacio
Ignacio went 14-11 on the season with a 8-3 league record which allowed the Bobcats to finish 2nd in the San Juan League. They then went on to regionals where they went 1-1. With only 4 Seniors leaving the roster, Ignacio is looking to move into that league champions spot. They will be returning talent in middle hitters Solymar Cosio (54 total blovks and 172 kills) and Ollyvia Howe (22 total blocks), and L/S/DS player Kacey Brown (300 digs).
Mancos
Last season, Mancos went 18-7 on the season, and finished 3rd in the San Juan Basin League going 8-3 in league play. The Bluejays then went on to go 1-1 during regional play. Mancos was a younger team last year and are looking to come back and improve their success on the season. Retuning players this season include blocker/hitter Haylie Higgins (61 total blocks), setters Aysia Mathews (40 total blocks, 99 kills), and Destiney Kramer (14 total blocks), hitter/defensive specialist Teya Yeomans (268 digs, 404 kills), and hitter Claire Goodwin (185 digs,142 kills)
Ridgway
Ridgway went 2-17 on the season, 0-11 in league play and finished 8th in the San Juan Basin League. Ridgway is a very young team and will be looking to improve their success with the return of top players Ava Berwanger (MH-28 total blocks), Sophia Scranton (14 total blocks), and Sophia Forrest (OH – 98 digs, 14 kills).
Telluride
The Telluride Miners finished 5th in the league with a 5-6 league record and a 11-12 overall record. They will be returning most of their roster including top stat players Delia Noel (11 total blocks, 67 kills), Kassidy Atherton (10 total blocks), Bryn Geiger (137 digs), and Emma Righetti (122 digs, 203 digs)
Santa Fe League
The Santa Fe League is a mixed 2A & 3A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Crowley County
Crowley County went 12-11 on the season last year, and finished 4th in league with a 8-5 record. The chargers continued on into regionals where they finished 1-1. Crowley County graduates 8 seniors from last year, including most of they stat leaders. The team will be looking for individuals to step up and fill the shoes of Destinee Ybarra who lead them in digs (285) and kills (205) last year.
Fowler
The Grizzlies were the Santa Fe League champions last year, finishing league 13-0, 5-1 in the playoffs, for a total of 26-2 on the season and received the state runner-up title. Fowler is looking to continue their achievements with the help of their retuning 9 players, including Lawren Johnson (MH) who ended last season with 54 total blocks, 288 digs, and 244 kills.
Hoehne
Hoehne finished the 22-23 season with a 18-10 overall record, placing 3rd in the Santa Fe League with a 9-4 league record. The Farmers continued onto the regionals where they went 2-0 and qualify for State. During the State Tournament Hoehne went 1-2. Losing only 4 seniors, Hoehne is looking to repeat their successful season with returning players, Janelle Ramos (OPP/MB – 157 total blocks) Kaylah Crosson (MB/OH – 108 total blocks, 114 kills), Ellegra Gutierrez (OH/OPP – 48 total blocks) and Janae Ramos (MB/OPP – 157 digs, 297 kills)
John Mall
John Mall went 0-13 during the league and finished 10th in the Santa Fe League. They finished 2-17 overall and did not make the playoffs. This season the Panthers will be looking to improve their record with a large part of their roster returning, including Amailee Trujillo, (15 total blocks) and Jordyn Daniels (6 total blocks, 36 digs, 16 kills)
Las Animas
Las Animas went 11-11 on the season, with a 6-7 league record to finish 7th in the Santa Fe league. The Trojans look to improve their overall record this year and have a higher finish in league. They will be returning a good portion of their roster including hitters Grace Gardner (89 total blocks, 73 kills) and Emma Netherton (12 total blocks) Jesslyn Hogue (37 kills), libero Chanel Le Barge (123 digs).
Rocky Ford
Rocky Ford finished 6th in the Santa Fe League with a 7-6 league record and a 9-13 overall record. The Meloneers are hoping to develop more this season and improve their success. Returning players include Faith Wirth who had 24 total blocks and 166 kills last season.
Rye
The Thunderbolts finished 2nd in the Santa Fe League, going 11-2 during league, 0-2 during regionals and had an overall record of 16-8. Rye will be returning a lot of their younger top players and will hope to make a deeper run in the playoffs. These players include Isabella Bond (MB – 88 total blocks), Kelsy Stribling (OH/RS – 27 total blocks, 91 kills) Desiree Ruiz (L – 382 digs), Jakie Newitt (S -287 digs113 kills), and Jordan Holgerson (OH/MH – 249 digs, 181 kills)
Swallows Charter
Swallows Charter went 9-15 on the season and finished 8th in the Santa Fe League, going 3-10 during league play. The Spartans will be fighting to improve their record and make the playoffs with help from returning players, Faith Derudder (34 total blocks, 91 kills), Kaitlyn Pearson (5 total blocks, 56 kills), and Lindsey Stevenson (61 digs)
Swink
Swink went 11-12 on the season, getting 5th in league with a 7-6 record. Swink was a young team last year and will be looking to improve their success with their returning player Charlotte Heberlien (56 total blocks, 118 kills), Taylor Mendenhall (37 total blocks, 162 kills), Abbey Bauserman (17 total blocks, 221 digs, 119 kills), Sol Jensen (295 digs), and Emma Hanagan (232 digs)
Southern Peaks
The Southern Peaks League has enough teams that the winner of the league gets the automatic berth into regionals.
Buena Vista
Last season, Buena Vista finished with a 17-8 record, with 5-2 in league, finishing 3rd in the Southern Peaks League. Buena Vista went 0-2 during the regional round, and are looking to continue their success with the help of returning senior, Madeline Litvay who ended last season with 148 kills and 77 total blocks.
Center
Center finished last season 8-15, placing 6th with a 2-5 record in the Southern Peaks league. Center loses 4 seniors from their roster, returning most of their players to improve the teams’ success.
Crested Butte
Crested Butte finished last season with a league record of 1-6, and an overall record of 6-17, finishing 7th in the Southern Peaks league. Crested Butte loses 5 senior from their roster, meaning the team will be looking to rebuild and develop their success.
Del Norte
Del Norte was 18-7 last season, with 6-1 in league play, allowing for them to finish 2nd in the Southern Peaks league. The continued onto regionals and went 1-1 to finish out the season. The tigers look to continue their success with their returning players, Reese Brown(OH) who had 15 total blocks and 176 kills, Kailee Gallegos (S), who had 233 digs, and Kayleigh Haynie who had 114 kills.
Monte Vista
Monte Vista finished their season with a 13-10 record, placing 4th in the Southern Peaks League, with a 4-3 record in league play. The Pirates are looking to make it into the play-offs this year, but have big shoes to fill after losing their senior class. Returning players for the Pirates are libero Sasha Dupont (70 digs) and setters Presley Lozoya and Kayleigh Garcia.
Sanford
The Mustangs were the Southern Peaks League champions, going 6-1 during league play and had an overall record of 19-8. Sanford won their regional advancing to the State Tournament going 0-2. Sanford will be fighting to stay on top and make a deep run into the play-offs. Returning players for the Mustangs are Brecken Crowther (MH- 19 total blocks), Riley Willet (MH – 16 total blocks), Brooklynn Reynolds (L – 377 digs), and Keylee Anderson (OH – 126 kills)
Sargent
Sargent went 10-13 last season, and finished 5th in the Southern Peaks League with a 3-4 league record. The Farmers did not make the playoffs last season, but will me looking to develop and better their success. Returning for the farmers are Makayla Brown (MH-13 total blocks), Bailey Asbell (OH – 7 total blocks, 79 kills), Reese Anderson (S – 331 digs), and Azzy Lister (L/DS – 193 digs).
Trinidad
Trinidad finished their 22-23 season 10-12, 1-6 in league play and 8th in the Southern Peaks league. The Miners will be losing 4 seniors, so have a lot of potential for growth with a large portion of their roster returning.
Western Slope
The Western Slope League is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Cedaredge
Cedaredge completed last years’ season 13-12, going 8-6 in league and finished 7th in the Western slope league. During regionals they finished 1-1. Libby Brooks, MH/OH, who had 170 kills last season, and Grace Henderson (160 digs) will be returning to help the team improve their success.
Grand Valley
Grand Valley was 13th is the Western Slope League last year after going 2-12 in league and 2-19 overall. Grand Valley was a younger team last year, only losing 5 seniors for this season. The Cardinals are hoping to improve their season this year with the help of returning players Chloe Gronwoller (MH), who had 72 total blocks and 76 kills last season, Tallin McCormick, (OH, MH) who had 22 total blocks last year, and Kaylae Medina (L, S) who had 425 digs last season.
Hayden
The Hayden Tigers took 5th in the Western Slope League last year. With an overall record of 13-10, Hayden went 9-5 in league and 0-2 during the regional round. With the help of retuning players, the team is hoping to continue and expand their success this season, including Emily Rajzer, who had 239 digs and 101 kills last season for the Tigers.
Meeker
Meeker went 25-4 last season and were the Western Slope League Champions. The went 14-0 in league play. Meeker won their regional continuing onto State. During the State Tournament Meeker went 2-2 reaching the Semifinals. The cowboys will be looking to continue their success this season and will have returning player Ainsley Selle (OH/RS/MH – 22 total blocks, 181 kills), Taylor Garcia (DS/L – 305 digs) and Reese Clatterbaugh (RS – 101 kills).
North Fork
The Miners completed their previous season with a 20-7 overall record, going 11-3 to finish 3rd in the Western Slope League. They continued onto post-season play where they won their regionals as the #13 seed. At the State Tournament North Fork went 1-2. North Fork will be looking to continue their success, but have a lot of senior shoes to fill. Returning players include Raney Moore (MB/MH/RS) who finished last season a top blocker for her team with 59 total blocks.
Olathe
Olathe finished their previous season with a 16-7 overall record, going 8-6 in league play, taking 8th in the Western Slope league, and going 1-1 in regionals. The Pirates will be returning Sadie Shea (OH – 25 Total blocks, 257 digs, 139 kills), Jenna Schenck (L – 423 digs), Tyra Gray (S/RS – 191 digs) and Sieanna McCall (OH- 120kills) to help with team develop and continue to improve their success.
Plateau Valley
Plateau Valley went 13-11 on the previous season, finishing 10th in the league with a 7-7 record and going 0-2 during regionals. The Cowboys are hoping to improve their success and will be returning some of their top players including hitters Emaline Ealey (39 total blocks, 240 digs,125 kills) and Sierra Piland (266 digs, 233 kills)
Rangely
Rangely completed their 22-23 season with an overall record of 14-11, finishing 6th in the league with a 9-5 league play record. They then went into regionals and ended 1-1 in the playoffs. The Panthers will be looking to continue their success and bring back many of their top players including hitters Emmeree Wagner (65 total blocks) and Miley Chism (280 digs), blockers Annika Cantrell (58 total blocks, 133 kills) and Lexi LeBleu (46 total blocks, 153 kills), and libero Emma Smith (346 digs).
Soroco
The Soroco Rams finished last season with a 2-12 overall record. They went 2-12 in league play and finished 15th in the Western Slope League. The Rams will be looking to develop their success this season with the help of returning players Kolbie Pierce (MH/RS – 51 total blocks), Anna Rushton (L/OH – 206 digs) Caitlin Cordova (S – 108 digs) and Daisy Hoff (OH/RS – 61 kills)
Vail Christian
Vail Christian went 21-5 last season and finished 2nd in the Western Slope League with a 12-2 league record. When they went into the regionals going 2-0 and qualifying for State. At the State Tournament Vail Christian went 1-2. The Saints will be returning some of their top players, including hitter, Hannah Leonard (53 total blocks, 93 kills), Setter, Logan Nobrega (35 total blocks), and libero, Jessie Allen (415 digs).
Vail Mountain
Vail Mountain went 10-13 overall on the 22-23 season. They finished league play 8-6 which put them 9th in the Western Slope League. They went on to play in the regionals where they finished their season 0-2. Their top blocker, Quincy Pribramsky (16 total blocks, 89 kills) will be returning, as well as their libero Leslie Hernandez (163 digs) and setter Elizabeth Pratt (142 digs).
West Grand
The Mustangs finished their previous season 15-10, 9-5 in league play and 4th in the Western Slope League and 0-2 in regionals. The team only loses 3 seniors and return most of their roster for this season. They will be looking to climb the ladder and have a higher finish in league and a deeper run in the playoffs.

Union Pacific
The Union Pacific is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Burlington
Burlington went 15-10 in the 22-23 season, finishing 3rd in the Union Pacific league with a 5-2 record. They continued to regionals and ended with a 0-2 record. Burlington will be hoping to improve upon last years’ success with the help of returning players Trinitee Holmes (107 TB, 176 kills) and Kiyarra Williams (110 TB, 118 kills)
Byers
Byers finished the season 11-14, and finished 4th in the league with a 4-3 record. Byers then went into regionals going 0-2 to end their season. They will be returning Hope Linnebur (48TB, 226 kills) and Annette Earl (369 digs).
Limon
The Badgers finished the season with a record on 10-15, going 3-4 in league play and finishing 6th in the Union Pacific League. Limon went into regionals going 1-1 to end the season. The Badgers are going to be fighting for a top finish in league this season and return everyone except for Brynlyn Owens. This seasons returning players include hitters, Jentri Marx(59 total blocks, 288 kills) and Teal Schmidt (31 total block, 144 kills),and setters Katelyn Tacha(12 total blocks, 274 digs) and Callie Stone (274 digs)
Strasburg
Strasburg went 24 – 5 overall on the 22-23 season, finishing 2nd in the Union Pacific League with a 6-1 league record. They continued onto the playoffs where they won their regional going 2-0. Once at the State Tournament Strasburg went 2-2 and nearly made it to the semifinals. Strasburg will be looking to take the league title with the return of many of their top players including hitters Natalie Domron (93 total blocks, 270 digs, 282 kills), Katherine Seligman (53 total block), Emma Middlemist (269 digs, 237 kills), and setter Peighton Marrero (59 total blocks, 312 digs, 185 kills)
West Central
The West Central is a mixed 1A & 2A League. To get the automatic berth to regionals a team must win the league outright.
Custer County
Custer County completed last season 13-8, going 3-0 and winning the title of West Central League champions. To help expand the teams’ accomplishments from last year are returning players Lily Bomgardner, libero, who had 419 digs last season, and Outside Hitters, Brylee Shy, who had 103 Kills and Reagan Hatfield who had 96 kills.
South Park
South Park finished the season 4-14 with a 2-1 league play record, and finished 2nd in the West Central League. The Burros are returning most of their players, including Trinity Walker (83 digs, 71 kills) to help them develop, and make it to the play-offs.
