Class 2A Football Playoff Projections & Predictions Week 9

This year to reach the playoffs is simple. Either win your league title or be inside the top 16 of the CHSAA Seeding Index. After they select the 16 teams that make the playoffs, they use the CHSAA Seeding Index to seed the playoffs. This week I will be giving my predictions on who makes the playoffs, but I will also look at if the season ended today who would make the playoffs at the end. Good Luck to all teams.

Class 2A Playoff Predictions (Who I think make the playoffs)

This is who I think make the playoffs and who win the leagues. In Class 2A all-league champions are guaranteed a berth. The rest will be selected by CHSAA Seeding Index. Seeding is determined by CHSAA Seeding Index. I am picking my 9 At-Large teams via non-league schedules, remaining schedules, and how I think teams will do. League Champions are posted first then the At-Large Teams.

League Champion Predictions

Colorado: Kent Denver

Kent Denver will face Classical Academy this weekend. If Kent Denver wins, they, are you league champions. If TCA wins, they still must face Elizabeth next week and that will be for the league title.

Front Range Mountain: Berthoud

Berthoud is in the driver’s seat for the league title. A win by Berthoud in any of their final two games and they win the league title. Berthoud will face The Academy this weekend.

Intermountain: Delta

Delta will face Montezuma-Cortez the final game of the season and that is for the league title.

Patriot Central: Wellington

Wellington will face Platte Valley and that is for the league title. Winner of that game gets the automatic berth which could be necessary to get into the playoffs.

Patriot East: University

University will face Brush this weekend. If Brush wins they are your league champions. If University wins then their game against Sterling next week will be for the league crown.

Southwest: La Junta

La Junta and Florence will not face each other until next week and that will be for the league crown. Florence will face Alamosa this week and a win against Alamosa makes next weeks game for the outright title.

Western Slope: Rifle

Rifle needs just one win in their final two games to win the league title. They face Grand Valley this week.

Playoff Hunt for Final Spots

Forge Christian, Montezuma-Cortez, Denver West, Aspen

They main question mark is for the final playoff spot. Alamosa may not have to win out to get in if they get help from the teams behind them. We will see what the results show this weekend and where teams fall. But mainly Alamosa is being chased by Forge Christian, Montezuma-Cortez, Denver West, Aspen, and Platte Valley.
