Class 1A Football Playoff Predictions First Round and Full Bracket

First, this is just my opinion.  I would love to hear or see your thoughts on how the 1A bracket turns out.  Second, Good Luck to all teams!  I do not cheer against any teams.  A Full Preview of all matchups will be posted tomorrow or Friday.

Class 1A Playoff Predictions 1^st Round Only

#1 Limon over #16 Cedaredge

Limon will be heavily favored in this matchup.  Limon played in the toughest league and played one of the toughest schedules in Class 1A.  Cedaredge also played in a tough conference but went 0-4.  Look for Limon to take control of this game early.

#9 Wiggins over #8 Banning Lewis (Second Best Game)

This should be a great game.  Banning Lewis defeated Yuma early in the season 14-0 and Wiggins defeated Yuma 27-7.  Banning Lewis, I feel is playing better football, but I have concerns when matching up against a very physical Wiggins team.  Wiggins key to success will be running the football & playing physical defense.  I see this game as a one score game.

#4 Meeker over #13 Highland

Meeker will be the heavy favorite in this game.  Meeker played one of the tougher schedules in Class 1A as well.  Highland was able to get into the playoffs winning their league.  Highland played a tough schedule early in the season where they went 0-4.

#5 Buena Vista over #12 C.S Christian

I have been torn about this matchup.  I think this will be one of the better games in Class 1A.  My concern for Buena Vista is if C.S Christian can stop their rushing attack can they pass the ball effectively to win.  Buena Vista plays great defense, and they will be tasked with stopping the spread attack of C.S Christian.  The key for C.S Christian is defense and stopping the run.  I think this will be a close game but giving BV the slight edge.

#2 Holyoke over #15 Platte Canyon

On paper this should be a great matchup, both teams are 8-1 and finished second in their respective leagues.  I feel this won’t be that close of a game.  Holyoke defeated Strasburg early in the season 33 to 7.  Platte Canyon lost to Strasburg last week 47-8.  I think Holyoke will win but, Platte Canyon is well coached and could make a game of it if they can play physical defense. 

#7 Wray over #10 Centauri (Best Game)

In my opinion the best game in Class 1A.  I think this will be a very physical game.  Centauri can pull the upset if they can play physical up front on both sides of the ball.  Wray has show they can play physical against anyone but will have to matchup against the speed of Centauri.  This is going to be a great game!

#6 Strasburg over #11 North Fork (Third Best Game)

Another great matchup.  Strasburg was one of the preseason favorites and will host a very talented North Fork team.  Strasburg will be tasked with stopping the run and taking care of the ball on offense.  North Fork must be able to control the line of scrimmage and must get the rushing attack going.

#3 Gunnison over #14 Yuma

This will be a quick game as both teams will look to control the line of scrimmage.  That is key for both teams.  Gunnison, I feel is playing their best football and will look to be dominate on the front 8.  Yuma played against top competition all season and if they can stop the run could push Gunnison or upset them.
