Class 3A Regional Volleyball Predictions
Here are my Predictions on who is going to win the 12 regionals taking place this weekend. Full Preview of the Class 3A Regional will be posted tomorrow.
Region 1
Winner: Platte Valley
Platte Valley is the #1 seed any many people pick to win it all. They got a great draw and don’t see a big challenge for them at regionals.
Region 2
Winner: Jefferson Academy
Jefferson Academy has just two losses on the year to Kent Denver and Prospect Ridge. They did avenge both losses. Jefferson Academy got a great draw and I expect them to get to the state.
Region 3
Winner: Eaton
Eaton got a great draw for their region. Eaton also is playing good volleyball to end the year. Eaton went 2-2 against 4A/5A opponents plus picked up nice wins over league opponents to end the year.
Region 4
Winner: Delta
Delta has just one loss on the season to Alamosa. The Western Slope League is unproven this year and that is a bit of a concern. I do think Delta got a great draw and I see them cruising to state.
Region 5
Winner: Timnath
I think James Irwin will push Timnath in this region but expect Timnath who seems to clicking to advance.
Region 6
Winner: Liberty Common
Liberty Common has a great draw in this region. Windsor Charter won the Foothills League which is a weaker league. Liberty Common is playing good volleyball and expect them to get the win.
Region 7
Winner: Kent Denver
This is going to be a fun region. Valley has played against top competition all season but can they get over the hump and upset Kent Denver.
Region 8
Winner: Alamosa
Alamosa got a very difficult draw. University is playing their best Volleyball of the season. I am giving Alamosa the edge but expect a very good match between Alamosa and University.
Region 9
Winner: Resurrection Christian
Resurrection Christian will be the favorite, but I think Rifle could provide a challenge. Rifle ended the year with key wins over Meeker and Centauri. I still think Resurrection Christian playing top competition helps them advance.
Region 10
Winner: Centauri
Centauri also got a tough draw with Sterling. Centauri has proven at multiple points that they can beat top competition and they will have to be on top of their games against perennial power Sterling.
Region 11
Winner: C.S Christian
My first upset pick. C.S Christian has a few key wins over top competition, and I think could pull this upset. Gunnison has not played the toughest schedule and that is a major concern in this region.
Region 12
Winner: Lamar
Lamar will look to move by Prospect Ridge who will give them a challenge. I still like Lamar in this region to advance.
