Wrestling Update 2024 by Carlos Valencia
Well, the second half of the season is upon us. So sorry I haven’t posted any updates. It has be a rough end of the year for me being sick and being busy with life. The first half of the season we saw some upsets at some tournaments and some teams surprising people around the state. We can say it’s been an interesting first half of the season.
In Class 2A we saw Cedaredge wrestling tough at tournaments as well as duals and made the leap to #2 in the rankings. Meeker along with Wray continue to be top 3 teams in Class 2A. Sedgwick County/Fleming and Center have also shown they will be tough teams and have wrestled well in 2023.
In 3a the top teams are performing like expected. Eaton is wrestling tough as well as Brush, Centauri, and Gunnison.
Kids will be changing weights as they get the 2lb allowance. So I’m excited to see where everyone will be in the next two weeks coming up.
Well, let’s go! There is six weeks left of some exciting matches and tournaments!
