Class 3A Boys Basketball Regional Predictions
Regionals is here and it’s win or go home time. Reaching Regionals is one of many steps for teams looking to reach the State Championship. To reach the state tournament is simple. Win your Region and you will go to the State Tournament. 8 regions and 8 teams advance to the State Tournament. They will reseed the State Tournament based off the final Seeding Index published after Districts. Remember this is just our opinion and we are not cheering against any team. We know all the hard work that each team has put in to reach this point. Good Luck to all 32 teams!
Region 1 at Forge Christian
#1 Forge Christian over #32 St. Mary’s
#16 Stargate School over #17 Buena Vista
Stargate School vs Buena Vista could be a very high scoring affair. This should be one of the better games of the opening round.

Stargate School will be looking to play spoilers as Forge Christian looks to defend their title.
Region 2 at Peyton
#8 Peyton over #25 Roaring Fork
#9 Salida over #24 Dawson School
Peyton vs Roaring Fork should be a good game. Peyton has not played the toughest schedule, but they are on their own court, and I give them the edge.
#9 Salida over #8 Peyton
Salida has continued to gain experience and I think are a dangerous team. Salida I think grabs the win and advances to DU.
Region 3 at Centauri
#5 Centauri over #28 Timnath
#12 Manual over #21 Platte Valley
I think both higher seeds will be favored in their matchup. Platte Valley could possibly push Manual but will have to play their best game of the season.

This will be one of the better matchups of the first round of regionals. Manual has played a very tough schedule and are battle tested. Centauri has also played a tough schedule and their defense is extremely tough. I think Manual gets by Centauri by less than 4.
Region 4 at Yuma
#4 Yuma over #29 Liberty Common
#13 Windsor Charter over #20 Thomas MacLaren
I don’t see any upsets in this round but, I think Thomas MacLaren could make things interesting for Windsor Charter.

Two teams who made the state tournament a year ago and now battle each other to make it back. I think Yuma is playing good basketball and they are on their own court.
Region 5 at Machebeuf
#2 Machebeuf over #31 Ignacio
#18 Prospect Ridge over #15 Crested Butte
I think Crested Butte vs Prospect Ridge could be a close game until late in the game. I think Prospect Ridge tough schedule has prepared them to get by Crested Butte.

This could be a much more difficult game than a #2 vs #18 seed. Prospect Ridge has played a tough schedule and hung with some of the top teams. I think Machebeuf get to state but don’t be surprised if this is a one score game.
Region 6 at Meeker
#7 Meeker over #26 Florence
#10 Banning Lewis over #23 Montezuma-Cortez
I think Florence could make things tough for Meeker in the first half but Meeker pulls away. Banning Lewis will look to get their groove back against an improved Montezuma-Cortez team.

This will be a great matchup if it happens. I think it could go either way and look for a tight matchup. Banning Lewis has shown it can beat the top teams and I think advance.
Region 7 at Highland
#6 Highland over #27 Bennett
#11 Strasburg over #22 Fountain Valley
The higher seeds should advance here as long as they don’t overlook their opponents.

I don’t want to pick this game as I think this is the best matchup in the regional finals. This should be a Elite 8 or farther game but they settle things out in the Sweet 16. This will be a battle and good luck to both teams.

#14 SkyView Academy over #19 Rye
SkyView Academy vs Rye could be a good matchup. Both teams will look to make a statement.

Vanguard looks to be playing their best basketball and look for them to advance to the Elite 8.
