The Class 2A Girls State Basketball Tournament will be played at Blue Arena at The Ranch in Loveland, with the first quarterfinal starting at 8:45am on Thursday. The complete brackets, with game times, are available at milehighprepreport.com or on MileHigh Prep Report on Facebook.

#1 Merino
Merino won their district and was able to host and win their region last week after beating Trinidad 72-26 and Sargent 80-33. The Rams have faced 2 other teams that made the State tournament and are 2-0 against these teams. They will face Mancos in the first round of the State tournament on 3/7/2024 at 7:00pm at the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland.

Hoehne won their district and was able to host their region. They were able to win their region after they beat Byers 49-33 and Wray 56-31. In the game against Byers, Janae Ramos was the high scorer with 13 points and 16 against Wray and Alessa Cantoria had 15 points in the second game. The Farmers have not faced any of the other state tournament teams and will face Simla in the first round at 8:45am in Loveland at the Blue FCU Arena on 3/7/2024.

Simla went 2-1 in with a loss to Burlington (49-59) and had to travel to Dayspring Christian for Regionals. They faced Caliche in the first round and beat them 70-39. The Cubs then faced DCA and managed to battle and get the win 52-48 in overtime to win their region and advance to the state tournament. Simla has played 4 games against some of the other seven teams in the eight still playing and have gone 1-3 against these teams. They will be facing Hoehne in the first round at 8:45am in Loveland at the Blue FCU Arena on 3/7/2024.

Burlington won their district and was able to host their region. They defeated Cotopaxi in the first round 56-19 where Kiyara Williams was the high scorer with 16 points. They advanced to face Limon where the Cougars got the win 58-44 with the high scorer being Lynzee Neal with 15 points. Burlington has faced Simla, another state tournament team, twice this season and are 2-0 against them. The Cougars will face Denver Christian in the first round of the state tournament at 4:00pm in Loveland at the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland on 3/7/2024.

Rangely was able to win their district to host the region last week. They defeated both of their opponents with large point margins. First was Twin Peaks Charter who they beat 54-17 where Miah Wren had 20 points in the game. Their second game of regionals showed similar success as they beat ECA 54-17. They Panthers have not faced any of the state teams this season and will be facing Wiggins in the first round of the state playoffs at 11:45 on 3/7/2024 at the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland.

Wiggins lost to Sedgwick County in their District had had to travel to Sanford for Regionals. The Tigers were able to get the win over Las Animas 48-24 in the first round. The team then faced the host team, Sanford, and was able to pull off the win 37-32 to win their region and advance to the State tournament. Wiggins has faced two other state tournament teams earlier in the season and have gone 0-2 against these teams. They will face Rangely in the first round of the State tournament at 11:45 on 3/7/2024 at the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland.
