Class 2A Baseball Regional Predictions

Baseball predictions are one of the hardest things to do in sports.  Remember with these predictions these are just for fun and I am not cheering against any teams.  I am proven wrong all the time and makes for a great day of watching baseball.  I will try my best to post scores as they become available so feel free to message me scores or email me. 

Region 1

#1 Limon over #32 Sanford

#17 Rye over #16 Ignacio

#1 Limon over #17 Rye

The game to watch in this is Rye vs Ignacio.  Rye is probably playing their best baseball of the season and could make things interesting against Limon.  Ignacio is also playing solid baseball and expect a great game between Rye and Ignacio

Region 8

#8 Buena Vista over #25 Del Norte

#9 Fowler over #24 Estes Park

#8 Buena Vista over #9 Fowler

Last season Del Norte pulled the big upsets and will look to do the same again this year.  Buena Vista did not get an easy draw at regionals, and I think get tested.  Fowler vs Estes park does intrigue me as Estes Park got hot late in the season to push up to the #24 seed.  I think all three games will be interesting in this region.

Region 5 (Friday opening round & Saturday Finals)

#5 Holyoke over #28 C.S Christian

#12 Lyons over #21 Trinidad

#5 Holyoke over #12 Lyons

Trinidad vs Lyons will be a very good game to watch and expect a close matchup.  If Holyoke wins whoever they face in the regional finals will test Holyoke. I do think Holyoke pitching gets them thru to regionals.

Region 4 (Friday)

#4 Peyton over #29 SkyView Academy

#20 Yuma over #13 Swink

#4 Peyton over #20 Yuma

Yuma vs Swink has the makings of being a very close and very good game.  Don’t expect either team to save their #1 as they try and advance.  If Peyton wins whoever they face will be a test in the regional finals.

Region 2

#2 Denver Christian over #31 Crowley County

#15 Meeker over #18 Wiggins

#2 Denver Christian over #15 Meeker

Meeker vs Wiggins is another great matchup between two teams looking to make a deep run.  Meeker and Wiggins have both shown they can hang with top teams, and this is another game I am interested in watching.  If Denver Christian advances they will be tested by either team.

Region 7

#7 Monte Vista over #26 Ellicott

#10 Dawson School over #23 Rangely

#7 Monte Vista over #10 Dawson School

In my opinion this is the toughest region in Class 2A.  All four teams have a shot at winning this district and expect all three games to be good.  Ellicott has shown they can hang with any team, Monte Vista may be playing their best baseball.  Dawson School and Rangely are evenly matched.  If you are playing in this region better bring your A game.

Region 6

 #6 Burlington over #27 Wray

#22 Byers over #11 Dayspring Christian

#6 Burlington over #22 Byers

Another very tough region in my opinion.  Wray may have just 5 wins this season but they have tested multiple top teams in Limon and Holyoke.  Burlington will be tested by the Eagles.  Byers ended the season on a up note and I think Byers vs Dayspring Christian could be a great matchup.  Another tough regional here.

Region 3

#3 Las Animas over #30 Dolores Huerta

#14 St. Mary’s over #19 Front Range Christian

#3 Las Animas over #14 St. Mary’s

I think this is another tricky region.  If Las Animas and St. Mary’s meet and St. Mary’s has their #1 then we are looking at a tough regional final game.  Las Animas has one of the deeper staffs in Class 2A so I do think they push thru and reach state.
