Mile High Prep Reports Top Returning O-Lines Class 2A
Picking the top returning Offensive Lineman was a very challenging feat. It was a lot of digging through who was lost and who is coming back. An offensive line could be hurt by departures of a few players or could strengthen. This was one of the toughest things to pick so I am not putting them in any order! If you think I am missing someone or have the wrong info please message me. It’s very tough to know exactly what offensive linemen have graduated or returning. | Delta HS | Delta is your defending State Champions, and they were anchored by a senior led offensive line which will have to replace three to four holes this year. Ripp Lockhart will be the leader this season and look for some upcoming seniors to fill the roles ahead of a talented skill position group. |
| Strasburg HS | Strasburg HS will make the move back into Class 2A this season. They went 10-3 last year behind a offensive line made up of mostly juniors. Strasburg will look to that offensive line to lead a very young skill position group. Strasburg offensive line will be key to the offense getting thru their growing pains. |
| Berthoud HS | Berthoud had a very successful season last year with a 10-1 record. Berthoud was powered by a senior led offensive line. Berthoud will be looking to replace 4 if not all 5 starters but have some size coming back. A trio of upcoming seniors should help anchor the offensive line. Getting some underclassmen to step up will then be the key for Berthoud this season. |
| Kent Denver HS | Kent Denver had a huge bounce back season a year ago. After going 5-4 in 2021 and 3-6 in 2022 Kent Denver went 9-1 in 2023. Kent Denver will look to build off last season success and that includes returning 4 if not all 5 of their starting offensive line. Kent Denver has a talented skill position group coming back along with an improved offensive line and they should take a big step this year. |
| Wellington HS | Wellington is moving into year three of their program and will have their first group of upcoming Seniors this year. That means the entire offensive line for Wellington will return and they will look to build off the 9-1 season they had a year ago. Wellington should take big steps this year especially on offense. Look for Wellington to be a team to watch this season. |
| Resurrection Christian | Resurrection Christian moves back down from Class 3A to Class 2A for this cycle. Resurrection Christian will have plenty of talent back and be a team to watch right away. Resurrection Christian returns at least three starters on the offensive line and this should help a solid group returning in the skill position category. |
| Elizabeth HS | Elizabeth made it to the playoffs last season falling in the first round. The skill position group was hit hard by graduation and that is where the offensive line will have to step in. Elizabeth will return 2 to 3 starters on the offensive line and they must anchor a young skill position group early in the season. |
| Classical Academy | Classical Academy was able to reach the playoffs last season going 8-3 and reaching the second round. TCA played well behind a very young offensive line that will return at a minimum four starters. TCA will have a lot of talent back and with a solid group of offensive linemen they could be a team to watch. |
| University HS | University went 8-3 a season ago and reached the Quarterfinals. They lose a very talented skill position group and will look for the offensive line to step up and lead them this year. University returns 2 possibly 3 starters on the offensive line and will look for them to be leaders. |
| Pagosa Springs HS | Pagosa Springs made the playoffs last season and sprung the upset in the opening round. Pagosa Springs will lose some key pieces from their offensive line with possibly 2 or 3 starters graduating. Pagosa Springs will look for the upcoming seniors and some underclassmen to fill the void. Pagosa Springs will hope for players to step up this season. |
| Brush HS | Brush had a bounce back season reaching the playoffs last season after missing the year before. Brush will return plenty of talent at the skill position group. The offensive line group for Brush will return at least two starters and will look for some of the younger size to take big steps this season. |
| Salida HS | Salida will be looking to get over the hump this season and reach the playoffs after back-to-back 4-5 seasons. Salida will have the size up front to make that push returning 3 of their 5 starters from last season. Salida will look to some depth pieces to step up, but their offensive line should be a strength for them this year. |
| Sterling HS | Sterling missed the playoffs last season going 4-5 but they will look to get back on track this year. Sterling returns their entire offensive line from a season ago. Sterling offensive line should be stronger than a year ago and they return the skill pieces behind them to make a run for the playoffs. |
| Gunnison HS | Gunnison makes the move from Class 1A to Class 2A. Gunnison made the playoffs last season and will look for a deep run. Gunnison should return 2 if not 3 starters on the offensive line. Gunnison oline should help them transition into Class 2A. |
