Class 2A & 3A Golf How to Qualify for State & Regional Layout
The golf season officially kicked off yesterday. This will be the first season we will have Class 2A added to the mix so we will look at how to qualify and the new regionals that will be set up.
Regional Qualifying Format and Assignments
There are 84 state qualifiers for Class 2A & 3A. Each regional tournament will have 2 full teams and 13 individuals not on a team.
The team format is 4 score 3 and a team can compete with a maximum of 4 players, but a team can compete for team points and as a qualifying team with 3 players. The 4th team qualifier, the highest scoring member of one of the qualifying teams, must score 10 strokes or less of that of the last individual qualifier not on a team in order to participate at state with their team. If the highest scoring member of the team(s) that qualifies is more than 10 strokes from the last individual qualifier score, the 4th team member will not participate and will be replaced by the next highest individual not on a team from that regional tournament. A team can compete for team points as a 3-member team.
