Class 3A Softball Season Preview

We are a bit late to get our Season Preview out but we look at every team from last season in Class 3A Softball that is playing in the Class this year. Games are starting to get going in full force and we are excited to be covering Softball yet again.

3A Denver Metro

Forge Christian (12-9)

The Forge Christian Fury ended their season 2nd in the Denver Metro League, going 6-2 in league play and ending with an overall record of 12-9. Forge Christian is anticipating a return of their full roster from last season, minus two seniors who graduated. They will be a team to watch this season as they try to make a playoff run.

Retuning stat leaders are Rio Beck (Jr) who had 1 home run, 26 stolen bases, 31 runs, 37 hits, and 15 RBI, Maxine Rossi (So) who had 15 stolen bases and 24 runs, Julianna Alfaro (So) who had a 4.77 ERA, 26 runs, 30 hits, and 14 RBI, Peyton Chester (So) who had 19 RBI.

Jefferson Academy (11-13)

Jefferson Academy ended their season with an 11-13 record, had a 2-6 league record, and ended 4th in the Denver Metro League. They were able to make a great run in the playoffs, going 5-1 and becoming the Colorado State 3A Runner-ups after falling to Eaton 11-0 in the championship. With only two seniors coming off of the roster, the Jaguars will be looking to continue their success and make a playoff run this season.

Returning players include last seasons’ stat leaders Ellie Arnold (So) who had 11 stolen bases, 22 runs, 19 hits, and a 16 RBI, Kristien Kientz (Sr) who had 9 stolen bases, and Hayley Smith (Sr) who had 17 runs, 12 hits, and 16 RBI.

Peak to Peak (8-16)

The Pumas ended their last season 3rd in the Denver Metro League with a 4-4 league play record. They completed the year with an 8-16 record overall. The team played in the playoffs but lost their only post season game to sterling 13-3. The Pumas lost two seniors from last years’ roster, so the team will be looking to continue their success this season.

Returning stat leaders this season will be Sydney Cusack (Sr) who had 3 home runs, 19 stolen bases, a 13.92 ERA, 37 runs, 30 hits, and 29 RBI, Karina Lefort (Jr) who had 1 home run, a 7.35 ERA, 30 hits and 26 RBI, Maggie Wallis (Sr) who had 18 stolen bases, 33 runs, 35 hits and 27 RBI, Neve Gustafson (So) who had 8 stolen bases, and Haley Haskins who had 17 runs.

The Academy (23-5)

With an almost perfect record last season, The Academy ended 2023 1st in the Denver Metro league with an 8-0 league record and they went 23-5 overall. The Wildcats had a peak 9 game win streak and were able to make it to post season play where they went 2-1 to end the season.

Stat leaders who will be returning this season are Mackenzie Pearson (Sr) who had 7 home runs, 51 runs, 46 hits and 48 RBI, Victoria Pearson who had 2 home runs, 14 stolen bases, 60 runs, 52 hits, and 31 RBI, Keara Pogue (So) who had 13 stolen bases, and Ava Fladung (Sr) who had 11 stolen bases and 41 runs.

3A Lower Platte

Burlington (3-15)

Burlington did not have the most successful season last year, going 3-15 overall, 0-6 in league play and ended 4th in the Lower Platte League. Despite the losses, the Cougars had showed some resiliency and ended their season with 89 runs. They will be looking to their returning players to continue their success this season and add more wins to their overall record.

Last season’s stat leaders were Paola Lujan who had 23 stolen bases. 12 runs and 23 hits, Jasmin Robles who had 14 stolen bases, Valerie Duarte who had 12 stolen bases, 12 runs, 13 hits and 14 RBI, Franny Orrantia who had 14 runs and 8 RBI, Lauren Hays who had 11 hits and Asha German who had 7 RBI.

Holyoke (12-12)

Finishing 3rd in the Lower Platte League, Holyoke finished their 2023 season with a 4-2 league record and a 12-12 overall record. The Dragons were able to play in a playoff game but lost it to Delta 11-1. The team will be taking a bit of a hit losing 6 seniors, but they will be looking to the returning players to lead them this season and find success.

Returning stat leaders for the Dragons will be Nicole Schlachter who had 1 home run, Parker Steggs who had a 9.77 ERA, and Fatima Nunez who had 20 RBI.

Limon (6-17)

Ending their season at the top of the league, Limon had a 6-17 overall record and a 4-2 league record. The Badgers had a rough start to the season losing 12 consecutive games but found some success later in the season. The team will be looking to replicate their later success this season despite losing three seniors this year.

Stat leaders from 2023 who will be returning this season are Kennedy Gyurman (So) who had 2 home runs, 20 stolen bases, a 6.84 ERA, and 32 RBI, Jayli Lockhart (Sr) who had 1 home run, and Jessa Book (Jr) who had 30 runs. 30 hits, and 18 RBI.

Wray/Yuma (11-12)

Ending the 2023 season with an 11-12 overall record, the Wray/Yuma Eagles had a 4-2 league record and finished 2nd in the Lower Platte Legue. With their record, the team was able to play in a playoff game against Thomas Jefferson, who they lost to, 12-0. The Eagles will be loosing a handful of seniors thus year and will look to returning players to find success.

Returning stat leaders will be Danyelle Davis (So) who had 1 home run, a 7.70 ERA, 16 runs, 21 hits, and 21 RBI, and Jones (Jr) who had 9 stolen bases, 13 runs, and 12 RBI.

3A Patriot

Brush (11-13)

The Beetdiggers ended their 2023 season with an 11-13 overall record, went 4-8 in league play and ended 9th in the Patriot League. In these games, Brush was able to score over 220 runs throughout the season. They will be looking to have another high run season this year and will be looking to returning players to find success.

2023 stat leaders were Brisa Aguirre-Garcia who had 2 home runs, 31 runs 34 hits and 25 RBI, Alysia Hernandez who had 2 home runs, 30 runs, 33 hits, and 25 RBI, Brianna Ludgate who had 1 home run, Michelle Headley who had 12 stolen bases, Avery Lefever who had 8 stolen bases, 7.52 ERA, 25 runs, and 34 hits,  Reese Lambert who had 7 stolen bases, and Krime Castillo who had 22 RBI.

Eaton (28-1)

Ending their season with an almost perfect record, Eaton had a perfect league record of 12-0, an overall record of 28-1, and ended not only at the top of the Patriot league, but also ended their postseason with a 4-0 record, becoming the 3A Colorado Softball Champions. The roster will be missing five seniors this year, including their top pitchers, but with the taste of success, Eaton will be looking to get back to the championship game this season.

Retuning stat leaders for the Reds will be Emma Anderson (So) who had 8 home runs, 24 stolen bases, 50 runs, and 40 hits, and Zoe Hamilton who had 17 stolen bases and 42 runs.

Lyons (19-6)

The Lions ended last season 5th in the Patriot league with a 9-4 league record and went 19-6 overall. The team made it to the playoffs where they had a decent showing, going 1-1, beating La Junta 11-0 but then falling to The Academy 13-2. With only three seniors on last season season’s roster, Lyons will be looking to return to the post season and will try to make a deeper run this year.

Returning stat leaders this season will be Elle Magaldi (Sr) who had 11 stolen bases, 24 runs and 29 hits, Ava Vasquez (So) who had 23 runs, and 31 hits, Gretta Wynja (So) who had 18 RBI, and Maysa Ganzel (Sr) who had 14 RBI.

Platte Valley (4-19)

Other than the five seniors and lone Junior last year, Platte Valley was an overall young team. Their youth showed as they only managed 4 wins last season, going 4-19 overall, 1-11 in league play and ending 12th in the Patriot League. This season, the retuning players for the Broncos will take their experiences from last year will look to grow and find more success this season.

Stat leaders who will be returning are Sydney Meyer (Jr) who had 1 home run, 12 stolen bases, 21 runs, and 11 RBI, and Danica Fosket (Jr) who had 1 home run.

Resurrection Christian (8-13)

Finishing 10th in the Patriot League, the Cougars when 4-8 in league play and 8-13 overall. The Cougars were able to play in a playoff game against Rocky Ford, where they lost 10-4, but with only two seniors falling off of the roster, Resurrection Christian should see similar success this season.

Returning stat leaders will be Olivia Martinez (Jr) who had 6 home runs, 27 runs, 30 hits, and 37 RBI, Karisa Lippincott (Sr) who had 2 home runs, a 5.88 ERA, 27 hits and 23 RBI, and Camryn Strain who had 10 stolen bases.

Sterling (17-9-1)

Sterling ended their season 17-9-1 overall, 7-5 in league play and ended 6th in the Patriot League. The Tigers went on to play into the playoffs and played two games, where they beat Sierra 11-10 but fell to Eaton 17-1. Sterling will be losing 8 seniors off the roster this season, and with a large piece gone this season, it will be important for the returning players to lead the newcomers so the team can try to find some success this season.

Stat leaders who will be coming back this season are Makenzie Beck (Jr) who had 2 home runs and 25 RBI, and Tatym Dempcy (Sr) who had a 7.15 ERA.

Strasburg (23-5)

Finishing their season 4th in the Patriot League, Strasburg ended their season with a 9-3 league record and went 23-5 overall. The Indians had a 12 game win streak that continued into the playoffs. In post season play, they went 2-1, losing their win streak and playoff run to Thomas Jefferson 5-2.  Strasburg only graduate three seniors from the team last year, and will be looking to show similar success this season with most of their roster retuning.

Retuning stat leaders are Madi Olsen (So) who had 3 home runs and 26 RBI, Addi Kent (So) who had 8 stolen bases, 39 runs, 42 hits and 26 RBI, Anna Vetter (Sr) who had a 3.14 ERA, and Kailey Rushman (Sr) who had a 3.62 ERA and 34 hits.

University (20-6)

University concluded their 2023 season 2nd in the Patriot league after going 10-2 in league play and went 20-6 overall. The Bulldogs played in the playoffs where they went 2-1, losing to Lamar 14-7 to end their season. University will be losing four seniors from last year and will be relying on the returning players to find success.

Returning stat leaders for the Bulldogs are Sydney Goetzel ( Jr) who had 6 home runs, a 2.84 ERA, and 38 RBI, Jasi Cole (Jr) who had 4 home runs, 13 stolen bases, a 3.05 ERA, 32 runs, and 32 hits, Natalie Galindo ( Jr) who had 4 home runs, 8 stolen bases, 36 runs, 40 hits and 34 RBI, Ellie Baca (Sr) who had 15 stolen bases, 28 runs and 33 hits, and Kenzie Wyatt (So) who had a 5.59 ERA and 26 RBI.

Valley

The Valley Vikings ended their season with a 6-17 overall record, went 1-12 in league play and ended 13th in the Patriot League. With only two seniors last year and only four seniors this year, Valley is a relatively young team who will be looking to improve this season this year.

Stat leaders for the Vikings who will be returning this season area Jennie Doolittle (Sr) who had 1 home run, Danica Flesner (So) who had 22 stolen bases, a 10.78 ERA, 20 runs, 30 hits, and 18 RBI, Jackie Gonzalez (Sr) who had 18 stolen bases, 20 runs, and 22 hits, Sophia Rodriguez (Jr) who had a 13/30 ERA, and Ava Kamphaus (Sr) and Alivia Lawing (Sr) who both had 11 RBI.

Weld Central

Weld Central ended 8th in the Patriot League last season after going 5-7 in league and 11-13 overall. The Rebels lost a large piece of the roster to graduation last year and will be leaning on the returning players to help rebuild and find success for the team.

Stat leaders who are retuning this season are Allyson Landers (Jr) who had 14 stolen bases and 20 runs, Jordin Sifuentes (Sr) who had a 10.39 ERA,  and Annastasia Hernandez (Sr) who had a 7.24 ERA and 34 hits.

3A Tri Peaks I

Alamosa

Alamosa ended their 2023 season going 13-10 overall, 4-0 in league play and ending 5th in the Tri Peaks League. The Mean Moose was able to make it to the postseason where they faced Strasburg and lost in the first round 14-3. The team will be looking to returning players to lead and find more success this season, and potentially make a deeper playoff run.

Stat leaders from last season were Lexany Heredia who had 4 home runs, 28 runs, 24 hits, and 32 RBI, Kacey Hillis who had 2 home runs and 20 hits, Araceli Moina who had 1 home run, 14 stolen bases26 runs and 26 hits, Alicia Rios who had 11 stolen bases and 19 RBI, Addison McCarroll who had 6 stolen bases and 20 RBI, Shea Jordan who had a 3.45 ERA, Olivia Castillo who had a 4.73 ERA, and Kennedy Hillis who had 24 runs and 24 hits.

La Junta

The Tigers ended their 2023 season 3rd in the Tri Peaks league after they went 6-2 in league play and 15-11 overall. La junta was able to make it to the playoffs last season where they played Lyons but lost to them 11-0 to end their season. The team will be returning all but five seniors this year and will be looking to find similar success this year.

Returning stat leaders for the Tigers are Yliani Garcia (Jr) who had 15 stolen bases, 19 runs, and 27 hits, and Isabelle Aragon (So) who had 11 RBI.

Lamar

Finishing 4th in the Tri Peaks League, Lamar had a successful season going 18-9 overall and 6-2 in league play. The Thunder played two playoff games last season where they won their first game against University 14-7 but lost to Thomas Jefferson 12-5. The team will be without 6 of their seniors from last season but will be returning some leaders to help guide the team to success.

Stat leaders from last season who will be back this year are Annabelle Morales (Sr) who had 1 home run, 17 stolen bases43 runs and 44 hits, Khloe Fernandez (Jr) who had 13 stolen bases, 38 runs and 22 RBI, and Chloe Weber who had 34 hits and 34 RBI.

Rocky Ford

The Meloneers went 16-10 overall last season, had a 7-1 league record and ended 2nd in the Tri Peaks League. They played in three playoff games to end their season where they went 1-2. With the success they had last season, the team will be chasing that success this year with all of their returning players.

Stat leaders for Rocky Ford last season were Leticia Garcia who had 3 home runs, a 3.85 ERA, 24 runs, 37 hits, and 37 RBI, Ashlyn Berg who had 2 home runs, 20 stolen bases, 35 runs, 35 hits and 26 RBI, Kamil Lovato who had 2 home runs, 16 stolen bases, 39 hits, and 28 RBI, and Deja Warman who had 23 stolen bases and 41 runs.

Southeast Colorado

The Southeast Colorado Angles will be playing in their first season this year. Last year the team was based in Wiley, where they went 18-4 overall, 7-1 in league play and finished 1st in the Tri Peaks League. Wiley was able to make it to the playoffs where they lost in the first game to Delta 1-0. The team is entering the Tri Peaks league again this season but will have a different name.

Stat leaders from last season who may be retuning this season are Anna Wollert (So) who had 2 home runs, a 2.86 ERA, 30 runs, 30 hits and 36 RBI, Kara Wilson (Jr) who had 2 home runs and 23 RBI, Zoe Martinez (Jr) who had 1 home run, Dixie Bitner (Jr) who had 12 stolen bases, 34 runs and 22 RBI, and Lexi Shotton (Jr) who had 30 hits.  

3A Tri Peaks II

Dolores Huerta Prep

Last season the Scorpions went 7-7 overall, 4-7 in league play, and ended 7th in the Tri Peaks II league. Their seven games won were all consecutive, which was followed by seven losses. Dolores Huerta was a young team with only one senior on the roster, so this season the team will be looking to make it to the playoffs this season.

Returning stat leaders this season are Nykeysha Stringfellow (Sr) who had 8 stolen bases, 17 runs, 12 hits, and 19 RBI, Tommilynn Cruz (Jr) who had 6 stolen bases, 17 runs, and 8 RBI, MaryJane Gonzales (So) who had 16 runs and 5 hits, and Yesenia Gonzalez (So) who had 9 RBI.

Florence

Florence ended their last season without a win, going 0-23 overall, 0-9 in league play and finishing 9th in the Tri Peaks II League.  With four seniors on last season’s roster, the Huskies will be looking to find success and win a game or two this season.

Stat leaders who will be returning this season are Claire Bosley (Jr) who had 1 home run, 5 stolen bases, 12 runs, 17 hits and 17 RBI, Lilly Roe who had 1 home run, 5 stolen bases, 17 runs, and 22 hits, Aidan Hindman (Sr) who had 3 stolen bases, and Tori Finnigsmier (So) who had 15 runs and 7 RBI.

James Irwin

James Irwin went 4-13 overall last season, going 2-6 in league play and ending 8th in the Tri-Peals II League.  The Jaguars had two seniors on the roster last season and will be returning most of their players this year. James Irwin will be looking to build their team and find more success this season.

Returning stat leaders will be Joelle Hassler (Sr) who had 21 stolen bases, 17 runs, 23 hits, and 14 RBI, Stella Reed (So) who had 15 stolen bases and 13 RBI, and Savannah Lopez (Sr) who had 14 hots and 16 RBI.

Woodland Park

The Panthers ended their season with a 7-16 overall record, went 3-5 in league play and ended 6th in the Tri-Peaks League. The team did not make the playoffs, and they will be relying on the returning players to share their experience and find some success this season.

Last seasons stat leaders were Kaitlyn Roy who had 2 home runs, 20 stolen bases, 25 runs, 16 hits and 17 RBI, Haddy Waak who had 1 home tun, Kendra Fish who had 1 home run, 21 stolen bases, 21 runs, 18 hots, and 21 RBI, Christine Renteria who had 18 stolen bases and 21 runs, and Adey Hughes who had 14 hits and 15 RBI.

3A Western Slope

Aspen

Finishing 7th in the Western Slope League, Aspen did not win a game last season and went 0-13 overall and 0-11 in league play. However, with only a single senior on last years roster, the Skiers will be looking to take their experience and grow the team and find some success.

Stat leaders who will be returning this season are Hannah Chaffey (So) who had 2 stolen bases, Hailey Lapin who had 2 stolen bases and 2 hits, Aurelia Tunte Stuck (Jr) who had 1 stolen base and1 run, Graceann Viola who had 4 runs and 6 hits, Kahler Marsh who had 2 runs and Mackenzie Sebenaler who had 2 hits.

Basalt

The Longhorns went through their 2023 season and ended it with a 5-16 overall record. In league play, they were able to end 2-9 and finished 6th in the Western Slope League. The team will be looking to find more success this season and get more wins on their record.

Stat leaders from last season are Zaida Leslie who had 1 home run, 21 runs, 30 hits and 20 RBI, Olivia Goodman who had 1 home run, Kyra Reeds who had 1 home run, 15 stolen bases, and 21 RBI, Mia Sandoval who had 15 stolen bases, 31 runs, and 29 hits, and Campbell Habel who had 22 runs.

Cedaredge

Cedaredge had an overall record of 6-16 last season after going 4-8 in league play and they finished 5th in the Western Slope League. With four seniors dropping from the roster this season, the team will be looking to get a little more success this season with the returning and new players.

Returning stat leaders this season are Kiera Stroh (So) who had 1 home run and 10 stolen bases, Kerrie Meyer (Sr) who had a 10.85 ERA, Tia Homedew (So) who had a 12.34 ERA and 26 runs, and Jewel Laliberte (Jr) who had 32 hits and 18 RBI.

Delta

Ending their 2023 season 1st in the Western Slope League, Delta went on to have a 12-0 league record and finished 21-5 overall. The Panthers made it to the play offs where they went 2-2, beating Holyoke and Wiley, but lost to Sierra and Strasburg. The team will be losing 5 seniors, so it will be important for the returning players to lead the team and find similar success this season.

Retuning stat leaders are Velma Bailey (Sr) who had 21 stolen bases, 46 runs and 47 hits, and Jazlyn Naranjo (So) who had 16 stolen baes, a 4.20 ERA, 41 runs, 42 hits and 42 RBI,

Gunnison

The Cowboys had a 13-10 overall record last season with an 8-4 league record which allowed them to finish 3rd in the Western Slope League.  Despite the successful season, Gunnison was not able to make the playoffs and with all but five seniors retuning this season, the Cowboys will be making a push to have another successful season and make it to the playoffs.

Returning stat leaders will be Maddie Vollendorf (Sr) who had 4 home runs,  15 stolen bases, 42 runs, 35 hits, and 31 RBI, Nella Gardner (Sr) who had 2 home runs, Kylee McDougal (Sr) who had 2 home runs, 11 stolen bases, 37 runs, 38 hits, and 37 RBI, and Isabella Crown (Sr) who had 15 stolen bases, a 8.82 ERA, 33 runs, 29 hits and 22 RBI.

Meeker

Meeker finished 2nd overall in the Western Slope league last season after going 9-3 in league play and 14-10 overall. The team was able to make it to the postseason where they faced Eaton in the first round of the playoffs and lost 13-2. With the team only losing 2 seniors from the roster, the Cowboys will be looking to have another strong season and make a bigger run in the playoffs this season.

Stat leaders from last season who will be back this year will be Miley Chism (Sr) with 2 home runs, Ashlynn Ducey (Sr) who had 1 home run and 37 runs, Miah Wren (Sr) who had 23 stolen bases, 45 runs, 39 hots and 27 RBI, Ashlynn Ducey (Sr) who had 10 stolen bases, Kailynn Watson (So) who had an 11.10 ERA, and Addison Knowles (Jr) who had a 5.29 ERA.

Montezuma-Cortez

The Panthers ended their 2023 season with an 11-13 overall record, they had a 6-6 league record and ended 4th is the Western Slope League. The team only had one senior on the roster last year so they will be retuning almost everyone to try to move their way up the chain this season and make a playoff run.

Stat leaders from last season who will be back are Saylor Martinez (So) who had 2 home runs, 42 runs, 36 hits and 33 RBI, Kenzi Whipple (Sr) who had 2 home runs, 28 runs and 27 RBI, Julia West (Jr) who had 11 stolen bases, Hailey Loyd (So) who had 6 stolen bases, Aubrey Rutherford (Sr) who had 6 stolen bases and 30 runs, Devyn Cornett (Sr) who had 6.54 ERA, 35 hits and 34 RBI, and Emily Carver (Sr) who had 38 hits.

3A Colorado League

Skyview

The Wolverines ended their 2023 season 5th in the Colorado League after going 3-7 in league play and 4-15 overall. Skyview will be returning all but two seniors from last season’s roster, so the team will be looking to find a little more success this season since they were unable to make the playoffs last year.

Stat leaders who will be returning are Gianna Chavez (Jr) who had 1 home run, 6 runs and 6 RBI, Sophia Ornelas (So) who had 9 stolen bases, 6 runs, and 8 hits, Brianna Martinez (Sr) who had 6 stolen bases, 7 runs and 6 RBI, Ayanna Martinez (Sr) who had 12 hits and 6 RBI, and Neveah Nevares (Jr) who had 9 hits.

3A CSML North

Mitchell

The Mitchell Maraunders played only a single game last season against woodland park. They lost this game 7-0, but they have a much longer schedule this season. This team will have a variety of teams to face to grow and possibly find some success.

Sand Creek

The scorpions ended their previous season with a 2-21 overall record, a 0-9 league record and ended 5th in the CSML North League. Sand creek will be returning most of their roster this season and will look to find more success this year and get a better spot in league standings.

Returning stat leaders will be Kayla Dempsey (So) who had 1 home run, 10 stolen bases, 19 runs, 22 hits, and 12 RBI, Addison Cowan (So) who had 10 stolen bases, and Kayla Fedele who had 17 RBI.

The Classical Academy

TCA ended 2023 4th in the CSML North League after having a 3-6 league record and going 7-11 overall. The titans will be looking to improve their last seasons record as they are only losing 1 senior from the roster. The will be able to take their experience from last season to get more wins this season.

Stat leaders who will be back for 2024 are Veronica Santos (Sr) who had 1 home run, 20 runs, 15 hits and 16 RBI, Khaiyah Bacon (Jr) who had 1 home run, Ada Wilson (So) who had 11 stolen bases, a 4.52 ERA, 20 runs, 15 hits, and 20 RBI, Asher Murphy (Jr) who had 5 stolen bases and 13 RBI, and Adelynn Miller (Sr) who had a 7.50 ERA, 23 runs, and 16 hits.

3A Denver Prep

Denver West

Denver West played only three games last season and went 0-3 overall, 0-1 in league play and ended the season 7th in the Denver Prep League. They have several more games scheduled this season and will give the team a chance to find some success this year.

Kennedy

Kennedy ended their season 11th in the Denver Prep League last season after going 5-17 overall and 1-10 in league. Because of their record, Kennedy did not make the playoffs last season. The commanders will be looking to take their returning players this season and find more wins to add to their record.

Stat leaders from last season are Leiyla Burgos who had 1 home run and 9 RBI, Genesis lujan who had 26 stolen bases and 22 runs, Ameire Herrera who had 13 stolen bases, 13 runs, and 20 hits, Ariana Velarde who had 12 stolen bases, Alexiah Lunas who had 16 runs, 21 hits and 18 RBI, and Josie Miller who had 16 hits and 6 RBI.

Lincoln

Lincoln had an overall record 0-21, 0-11 in league play and ended 13th in the Denver Prep league. The Lancers will be having an overhaul of their roster this season after losing seven seniors, but will rely on the retuning players who guide the newcomers and find some success this season.

The stat leader from last season who will be back this year is Ariel Toledo (Sr) who had 1 run last season.

3A Frontier

Alameda

The Pirates went 7-13 overall last season and ended 8th in the Jeffco league after going 0-8 in league play. Alameda will be losing two seniors from last year to this season, but will be able to take the rest of the returning players and find more wins this season and maybe even make it to the playoffs.

Returning stat leaders this season will be Z. Bobian (So) who had 2 home runs, 18 hits and 16 RBI, A. Padilla (So) who had 1 home run, 18 stolen bases, 21 hits, 21 runs and 15 RBI, and M. Santos who had 20 runs and 17 hits.

Arvada

Arvada ended their last season 5th in the Frontier league with a 9-12 overall record and a 3-3 league record. This was a good record for a relatively young team and with only two seniors being lost from the roster, this team will be one to keep an eye out for as they grow and find success with their returning players.

Stat leaders who will be back this season are Amiah Picaso (Jr) who had 6 home runs, 16 stolen bases, 31 runs, 26 hits, and 42 RBI, Alyssa Moren (Jr) who had 3 home runs, 15 stolen bases, a 6.82 ERA, 33 runs, 37 hits and 19 RBI, Alicia Montoya (Sr) who had 2 home runs, 12 stolen bases, 33 runs, 31 hits, and 24 RBI, and Hailey Lesperance (Sr) who had an 8.04 ERA.

Bennett

Bennett has not had a softball team since the 15-16 season but will be entering the Frontier League for the 2024 season. The team will be in a large league but will gain great experience to bring back for future years of this program.

Englewood

Finishing 4th in the Frontier league, Englewood ended their season with a 8-9 overall and went 4-4 in league play. The team had a lot of seniors last season so they will be looking to the returning players to lead the team and find success.

Returning stat leaders are Sloan Steven (So) who had a 13.45 ERA and19 runs, Makenna Keoppel (Sr) who had 14 hits, and Sarah Claveria (Sr) who had 11 RBI.

Jefferson

Jefferson went 7-7 overall last season, 4-3 in league games and ended 3rd in the Frontier League. Their pervious roster had 7 seniors on it, so the team will be taking a bit of a hit losing them, but will have plenty of returning players to step up and lead the team to success this season.

Top stat leaders who are returning are Te’Aira Nutter (Sr) who had 1 home run, Meadow Mondragon (Jr) who had 8 stolen bases, 11 runs and 8 hits, and Gianna Trujillo (Jr) who had 9 hits and 7 RBI.

Middle Park

With only one senior on the team last year, Middle Park’s youth showed a bit as they went 0-12 overall, 0-7 in league play and ended 7th in the Frontier league. The team should be able to take their returning players and from their experience last season, find some success for the 2024 season.

Returning stat leaders for the Panthers are Lena Moss (Sr) who had 1 home run and 8 hits, Josie Hoyhtya (Sr) who had 16 stolen bases and 10 runs, Jaiden McCauley (Sr) who had 11 stolen bases and 9 RBI, Blaire Hester (Sr) who had 9 stolen bases, and Anna Lantermans (Sr) who had 9 runs and 6 RBI.

Platte Canyon

The Huskies ended their 2023 season 3-15 overall, 2-7 in league play and ended 6th in the Frontier league. Platte Canyon lost only two seniors from last seasons roster, and will be leaning on the teams experience for them to find success this season.

Stat leaders for the Huskies who will be returning are Sydney Curtis (Sr) who had 14 stolen bases, 10 hits, and 17 RBI, Arianna Vigil (Sr) who had 13 stolen bases, 14 runs, and 13 RBI, Cassidy Mammoser (Sr) who had 11 stolen bases and 16 runs, and Emma Flores (So) who had 12 hits.

3A Longs Peak

Greeley Central

Ending their previous season 7th in the NCAA league last season, the Wildcats had an overall record of 5-17 and a league record of 0-8. They had a large roster last season but will still be taking a hit losing seven seniors. It will be up to the retuning players to come back and lead the team to success this season.

Returning stat leaders are Gabby luce (Jr) who had 1 home, Rory Weizenegger (Sr) who had 1 home run, 12 stolen bases, 22 runs, 17 hits, and 9 RBI, Alyea Molina-Haney (Jr) who had 5 stolen bases, and Tasia Alvarez (So) who had 12 runs.

Wellington

Wellington had a decent season last year, going 13-11 overall, 7-7 in league play and finished 7th in the Patriot League. The Eagles were a young team last season and will be their entire roster this season and should find some success this year.

2023 stat leaders to watch for this season are Kensley Story (Jr) who had 6 home runs, 21 stolen bases, 42 runs, 32 hits, and 21 RBI, Scarlet McGuire (So) who had 2 home runs and 26 RBI, Jasmine Tafoya (Sr) who had 1 home run, 15 stolen bases, a 7.07 ERA, 25 hits, and 22 RBI, Taylor Morgan (Sr) who had 6.65 ERA, Charley Somday (So) who had 33 runs and 25 hits, and Kiley Newberry (Fr) who had 31 runs.

Skyline

The Falcons ended their 2023 season 1-22 overall, 0-15 in league play and finished 9th in the Longs Peak League. The team ended with 50 runs for the season, with 20 of them coming in their lone win against Greeley Central. With only three seniors falling from their roster, the Falcons will be looking to improve their season and find more success this season.
